    I saw a post about someone upgraded their iPad 2 and wanted to add my bit to it I still use a iPad 2 and I can’t believe how good it is I used it for basically 9 years and it still holds up today mind you not the best but it does it job and quite nicely

    This is surely the best piece of tech I've owned in the last 10 years. I bought this iPad 2 in 2011 as my first tablet and today I replaced it with the iPad 10.2". This iPad was used everyday, has travelled with me everywhere and never had a problem.

    It never had a screen protector which isn't scratched, it was only protected by a smart cover which has worn out 2 years ago. I could never have imagined it could last for 9 years (and still going despite it's 9.3.6 firmware which is awfully slow).

    Today I chose to replace it due to it's slowness and the apps not being updated. I only hope this new iPad could last as much as the first one.

    I know it's a bit silly but I got attached to this iPad and I wanted to share this with you guys. Kudos to Apple for making such a lasting device.

    iPad Air 2020 Emotional Roller Coaster

    I just need to find out if I am alone here on this tumultuous road that is following the rumors regarding the iPad Air 2020 (or 2021??) release. One day it is coming out September 7th, the next day the iPad Air isn't coming out at all and it's the iPad Pro that is actually coming out in September. Then we are back to the iPad Air but the release date is September 10th. It's obvious nobody knows what is actually going on, but I can't take this emotional toll for any longer!!

    What are some essential productivity apps for iPad (7th)?

    Hello there!

    I am a teacher in Germany and my school admins just issued us iPads (latest generation, non-Pros). My personal smartphone is an iPhone 7. My work machine at home is a desktop windows pc; I also have a windows laptop. I might switch phones to a Google Pixel in the coming weeks though.

    Of course I will use the iPad for classroom management, but also to create study material for my students, throw something on the smartboard/projector/TV, etc.

    I would also like to use it to annotate texts, create mind-maps, research, take notes during meetingsetc pp, maybe create short video clips and edit photos.

    What are some essential apps that will make my workflow really easy? How can I better optimize my workflow throughout all of my different platforms/devices (without the need to buy a macbook)? I have a preference for beautiful, smart, productive and fast work environments and am willing to pay the pricetag for it.

    I have looked up MarginNote 3 (which I really like). I also have access to all Microsoft apps, unlimited iCloud, Google and Microsoft Clouds. I will also have access to a keyboard cover and a stylus (would you recommend the Apple Pencil over the 3rd Party generic styli?) - Cost is not an issue. Either my school admins will pay for the apps or I will fork over the cash myself.

    Location data from hotspot

    I've been talking with someone regarding GPS data availability from a phone's hotpsot - to be used for navigation purposes by a non-cellular iPad tethered to that hotpsot. I haven't found anything definitive written down but below is my interpretation of what I think occurs. Anyone with more solid info - a reference?

    The hotpsot does not transmit GPS data. You do get some location data via the hotpsot but not GPS-sourced data. I believe you're getting WiFi or cellular triangulation data. I've tried moving map s/w with my iPad tethered to the phone and location accuracy is not great and it appears to a low position update rate. And in the absence of a WiFi or cell signal, I don't think you'll get any position data from the hotspot at all (much less any other data, of course).

    Unpopular Opinion.

    Tl;dr Air 3 is going to be the best budget value here in a few weeks.

    I've seen a lot of people stating that Air 3 is not going to have much value after 2019-2020, here is why that is completely wrong.

    Keep in mind, this post is targeted for people who have a low budget-high value mentality.

    With that being said.... if you are on the edge of buying an iPad right mow definitely WAIT. Wait a few weeks until the new rumored iPads come out, and if you have enough, definitely by all mean buy those. BUT, chances are you can and will then find the air 3 for a way way way better price... It won't be "old" and will have the same processor as the new upcoming budget iPad. A12, 2nd Gen Touch ID, Apple Pencil support, an awesome 10.5 inch display. I don't know for sure if the 2020 budget will have a laminated screen but following the pattern, chances are it won't, and will not have a reflective coating. The Air 3 has both of these and contains P3 gamut support which will probably not be in the 2020 budget iPad. If you are looking for a better budget iPad, but want some more premium features definitely this would be the way to go.

    I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts.

    Best way to keep iPad "healthy"?

    Got my first iPad (10.2", 2019 model) last week and I was wondering how often I should turn it off (I read somewhere shutting it off allows it to reset), or if it's ok if I leave it not fully charged for a while (outlets in my place are old, don't want anything to happen while I'm asleep so I try to not keep my phone or anything like that plugged in).

    Is there anything else I should keep in mind?

    Best side-scroller, controller supported games on iPad?

    iPad Pro 12.9 2017 iPad OS 14 beta 6 significant battery drain.

    I turned off the background app refresh, changed email to fetch and did everything for the sake of battery life. It used to last me all day but now it lasts maybe 6 hours or less (same daily activities). Anyone experiencing the same battery issue with the iPad OS 14? Thanks guys.

    I would like to have an iPad Pro for note-taking during my university classes. That being said, as a full-time student, I don't have the funds to purchase a brand new iPad Pro. I have found a 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 inch for CAD 700. My question is, how much longer until this iPad is too old and not supported. I have four more years for my degree and would like to get something that will last.

    Transferring 4k files to iPad question

    Hey everyone. I am currently in the market for a 4k video camera, and was wondering what type of files I should make sure it has to be compatible with the iPad pro. I use Luma fusion to edit, so being able to transfer to the iPad is crucial. I've heard Sony has some transferring problems, so I was wondering if there are any others that are more compatible.     Pairing 4th Gen Magic Keyboard + Trackpad to Windows 10?

    Not sure if anyone has ever asked this anywhere, but... is this possible? It'd be so easy to grab the 4th Gen Magic Keyboard and use it within Windows when I have to navigate. I use my OLED TV as a gaming monitor, so definitely could come in handy.

    Just bought a new i pad pro and am having one problem.

    As a hobby i fly airplanes and i enjoy recording my flights as well as using the pad as a map (using an app called foreflight). (It makes it much easier to navigate) but i cant seem to figure out how to record and video and use a separate app. I see you can face time and use other apps so the process can be done but how do i so what i need it to do?

    Best way to view YouTube?

    I like the browser more because you can use PIP and block ads. But it seems the browser version tops out at 720p?

    If you change it to the desktop version, you gain 1080p, but lose pip.

    What is the best way, or way around this?
