OneCast Xbox Game Streaming now on AppleTV Posted: 05 Jun 2020 07:49 AM PDT If you don't know what OneCast is it's an iOS/Android app that lets you stream your XBox One to your phone/tablet over WiFi. It works well and is really nice to be able to play XBox away from the TV it's connected to. Well I just updated my iPhone app and got a message about AppleTV, went to their site and yep you can soon stream to your TV.
Until xCloud and native game streaming is released this should be a great alternative. I don't see it on the store yet but I'd imagine it should be up later today. Will report back once I've tested it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Jun 2020 03:46 AM PDT I have several apps that stream live TV. The program appears several minutes or hours before start. Sometimes you can click on them and it would show "program starting in X minutes" and sometimes the program doesn't become active until it goes live (for anyone in Sweden, I'm thinking about the coronavirus press conferences on SVT Nyheter Direkt or Rapport). Wouldn't it be cool if you could subscribe to get a notification when the program goes live even if you're in another app? Does someone know if something like that is in the works? Posted: 06 Jun 2020 12:29 AM PDT Hello everyone. Not sure if this is a bug or no but it's been almost 3-4 months now my apple tv 4k doesn't notify or auto update itself when new update is available even when I have auto updates on. Everytime I read on internet that Apple has released new ios update and I have manually go the update settings and search for update then the new update pops up. Why I have to always go to the update settings and search for new update even with setting to install update automatically enabled? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2020 11:12 PM PDT Is it just me or is Dolby Vision not great on Central Park? Colors aren't as vibrant as they should be. Kind of not sure why this even needs DV, but it's too much of a pain to toggle off and on. Great show though! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2020 03:19 PM PDT How do you remove a show from your library without a personal computer? I only use my work computer which I can't download iTunes on. Would I be able to log onto someone else's computer with my iTunes account? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2020 05:54 PM PDT Hey all - asking this question just to see if anyone has ever had a problem with their Apple TV 4K version freezing during playback? The weird thing is it's only half the screen and happens about once a month. We do a simple reboot and everything is fine again. Has anyone else encountered this? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Weird issue: signing out of Netflix, Spotify, dc universe Posted: 05 Jun 2020 03:36 PM PDT I've been having a weird issue for a while now. Every few days I get signed out of the same the apps:
I sign back in only to be signed out in a day or two. If one is signed out, the others are as well. Here are added info: Newest Apple TV. Software up to date. Apps up to date. Anyone have any thoughts? Thank you. [link] [comments] |
Apple TV w/ LG CX w/ Samsung Q90r Soundbar power on/off Posted: 05 Jun 2020 09:00 AM PDT Hey, so my Problem is, when i turn on my CX with the siri remote of my Apple TV the Samsubg Q90R Soundbar doesnt turn on as well. But when i turn on the CX with the LG Remote - the Soundbar turns automatically on and off. Is there a way to fix it that the q90r does turn on with the Apple tv? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Jun 2020 04:59 AM PDT This is a specific issue. Not sure if anyone would know the answer but here I go. I have: Apple TV 4k Marantz SR 5014 receiver Samsung Q70R Samsung TVs don't support Dolby vision. They use HDR10+. However, my receiver supports Both and the Apple TV supports both. Because of this, my Apple TV tries to use Dolby vision because it detects that the receiver supports it. Half of the time it displays to the tv, the other half it says "no signal detected" and I have to get up and unplug everything and plug it back In to reset the video source. Is there a way to force the Apple TV to only use HDR10+ instead of Dolby vision? [link] [comments] |

Twitch and the problem with putting the Apple TV to sleep Posted: 05 Jun 2020 07:51 AM PDT Hi there. First of all english is not my first language so sorry for any inconvenience because of this. I have a tv in my bedroom and like to watch Twitch streams to sleep. With Twitchy this was never a problem. The stream ends and after 15 minutes my Apple TV goes to sleep, as I've configured. Alternatively I had a sleep timer on my TV and the Apple TV went to sleep when my tv turned off. But with the official Twitch app none of this works. My TV is off, sure. But my Apple TV is still on and runs Twitch. This bothers me a lot. I tried to make a Shortcut that turns the Apple TV off. But sadly in the automations of the HomeKit-App you can just stop the playback of the Apple TV which doesn't kill the Twitch-App. The Automations in Siri Shortcuts don't run… well… automatically when they're time based. I wake up every morning with a notification that I can "run my automation". This is a hilarious limitation for another subreddit. But I think you see my problem. My solution for the time is a smart plug. Everyday at 1am I run an automation so that my smart plug goes off and one minute later on again, so my TV and Apple TV are just in sleep mode. This brute force method cannot be good for any of these devices and it's hilarious, that I have to do this because Apple doesn't implement a sleep timer in their TV and aren't quality checking apps for it anymore so Twitch can publish an app like this. Has anyone an idea for a more elegant solution? [link] [comments] |
