Posted: 06 Jun 2020 03:36 AM PDT Hi all! My ex girlfriend was allergic to oranges. Every time I went to get groceries for her I would have to check the ingredient list to check for oranges or derivatives. When Corona started I was stuck home for a few weeks so I decided to build an app that quickly scans the ingredient list for words that you're allergic to. While I'm fortunately not allergic to anything, it's already been useful for me when doing groceries for a friend of mine who is lactose intolerant. And because the app can scan in different languages it's also useful for when you're on vacation! You can see it in action here. With the help of more than 15 people from all over the world, the app is now translated into more than 12 languages from Lithuanian to Chinese to Hungarian to Italian. With more being worked on as I type this. The word lists for the most common allergies are translated to 20 languages. Besides allergies and vegan products I'm working on adding support for ingredients that have an impact on the environment such as palm oil 🌴, ingredients related to religions such as halal, as well as diets and cosmetics. I'm hoping to get some feedback from people on if this would be useful and how I could improve the app more. You can join the testflight and read some more info at www.soosee.app You can sign up to test on the website, or you can reply here and I'll let you skip the line if you can give me some honest feedback 🙂 [link] [comments]

Claquette 2.0 - A lightweight video utility for macOS Posted: 06 Jun 2020 12:32 AM PDT Hi r/apple 👋 I recently released a major update to my app Claquette. Claquette is an easy-to-use utility to capture, edit and convert videos and GIFs on your Mac. Here are the main features: 📹 Record You can capture your Mac's screen, webcam & microphone. It also allows you to record iOS devices connected via Lightning cable. ✂️ Crop & Trim Open videos or GIFs and cut out the relevant parts. 🧙♂️ GIF Optimizer The exporter generates high-quality GIFs and also exposes several parameters that can be tweaked. 📏 Resize & Convert The app can convert between all supported formats: h.264, HEVC, ProRes, animated GIF/PNG. It can also re-encode with different sizes. You can learn more about the app on the product page. The app is free to use. It adds a small watermark to exports. The watermark can be removed via In-App Purchase. Have a nice weekend! [link] [comments]

SpeedDial 3 for Mac - Reach your favorite contacts from the menu bar Posted: 06 Jun 2020 01:58 AM PDT SpeedDial 3 lets you initiate a phone call or FaceTime Audio / Video call to your favorite contacts directly from the menu bar or Touch Bar. You can also initiate sending iMessage and WhatsApp messages to them. With efficient search and recent contacts functionality you can easily find and reach any of your contacts from the menu bar using SpeedDial 3 too. CheezyCam – Get attention when taking photos Posted: 06 Jun 2020 03:31 AM PDT Hey all! 👋 Are you tired of always acting like a clown when trying to get the attention of your baby, cat, dog or whatever you're trying to photograph? That's why I created CheezyCam, to help you capture the best photos of your loved one's. I got the idea when I became a father and realised how hard it is to get the attention of my daughter when I was trying to take a photo. Making grimaces helped for awhile but soon she got used to them and I wouldn't get her attention anymore. So I got the idea of making a camera app which plays a sound of your selection when holding down a button and upon releasing it will take a photo. CheezyCam is not limited to baby photos, it works like a charm with animals as well and you can get some surprised faces when taking a photo of your friends. Try it out for yourself! Feedback is greatly appreciated and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have 🙏 [link] [comments]

Keynote is an underrated presentation software Posted: 04 Jun 2020 11:37 AM PDT During this quarantine, I realized Keynote is amazing and it provides a really good workflow for presenting. It has amazing animations and its interface really has improved and is very easy to use. In my case, I had to present with mathematical formulas and it has native support for LaTex (math equation writing app). For presentation, it has a live feature, where you can share a link and other people can view it in their computers. This way, I can present mirroring my computer to my TV, switching the slides with my Apple Watch and recording myself with my iPhone, while everyone is seeing the presentation in their own computers. Overall, I would just like to recommend it to other people; specially those within the Apple Ecosystem. I used to only use Google Slides, but Keynote is easy to use and provides many amazing features. [link] [comments] |
