Predictions for back to school sale? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:16 PM PDT By history it takes places early July. Is it likely we'll see the beats solo pro with a Mac purchase or would they stick with the beats studio 3? The solo pro are cheaper by $50 so I would think they would offer the pro. There's also their high end headphones which are supposed to be announced but I doubt they would bundle them in this year. For the iPad I predict solo3 or AirPods. [link] [comments]
MX Master 3 on aluminum mouse pad? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:24 PM PDT Recently having gotten my Macbook I decided to combo it with a Magic Mouse 2. This was a horrible fucking mistake. Hated it. Not to mention even worse when tracked on an aluminum mousepad that I got. Too noisy and shockingly slow DPI that when adjusted in settings responded awkwardly. I'm now looking into getting the MX Master 3 but am curious as to how it would run on the aluminum mouse pad. The aesthetics mainly are what sold me on the pad, but if I encounter the same problems as before I won't bear it. Essentially, would I suffer the same level of tracking and noise problems with the MX Master 3 on the aluminum mouse pad as the Magic Mouse did? Thanks to anyone who can shed some light. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:48 PM PDT Please help! So basically I'm new to like looking into apple laptop products and I'm really having a hard time looking for one I can trust. I want one that's good for school work and stuff and that runs smooth. Preferably under $1000, $1000 being the max amount. I'm doing my best to research but it is stressing me out and I would appreciate direct useful answers here, thanks! [link] [comments]
My 2020 Air (i5, 8gb) is reaching 90-100 degrees celsius with literally only a couple tabs open. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:44 PM PDT Whether it's Firefox or Chrome, if I have a couple tabs open (4-6), it'll start to overheat and fans will go off. It sometimes hits 100c. This can't possibly be normal, right? I have nothing open in the background. I've tried restarting the computer. Sometimes it'll hit 90c with literally only a 1080p YouTube video open on Firefox. I'm honestly on the verge of returning this thing. I can't even have a single Google docs tab open without hearing the fans going. My $400 Chromebook was better than this. Safari does it best but it's still not great. And Safari doesn't have the extensions I want (only a few) [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:41 PM PDT Want a MacBook for college & personal use. Will a i5 2020 air last me the next 4-6 years? *Mostly gonna perform school tasks & maybe some video streaming. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:02 PM PDT Hi everyone. I'm planning on buying a MacBook retina 12' from mid-2017. I chose that model because of my work I need to carry it around a lot, and I heard that it's very good in terms of portability. I don't do any heavy working, just office stuff (ehm, excel), so it seems like a good choice. Lurking around, I've seen that some people had problems with the logic board (and oh, the butterfly keyboard...). Has anyone had any of these problems? What are your opinions on it? Is it worth it? Or shall I get a MacBook Air instead? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 12:22 PM PDT I have a 2016 base 13" tbMBP 8GB/256GB. I saw a deal for a 15" 2016 16GB/512GB for $925. Worth it? Edit: for clarity. [link] [comments]
Am I just being impulsive trying to upgrade my 2018 15" Macbook? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 01:22 PM PDT So put my 2018 MacBook Pro for sale with the intention to get the base model 16" that released. Here are the specs for my 2018. It's getting sold for $1,800 and the difference I would pay for a refurb is only $400. But after looking into it I'm starting to debate if it's even worth it. Could anyone verify if it is or not? [link] [comments]
New Macbook 16inch with possible issues Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:10 PM PDT Hi all, I just received my new macbook pro 16 inch in the mail today and I am worried I may have a defecting unit. Upon setting setting up my WiFi and typing in my code (looking down at my phone for my pw) I noticed the screen may have flickered. When I was on the desktop I noticed a sound coming from the computer like a crunching sound but the best I can describe it is when a desktop computer is under a lot of pressure (im not sure if thats clear but my old desktop PC used to do that) Then when I was doing to software update after the computer restarted and I had the load bar I noticed the screen flicker with a grey box in the middle. My old macbook has some type of display issue so it got me thinking it may be an issue. I tried updating my old macbook to see if it was just part of the update but it didn't have anything similar. Does this sound like something could be wrong or am I overthinking about this? With how much I spent on this and everything closed currently Im worried about this computer now and i rather not have to exchange it once I get all my stiff put on the computer. Thanks =) [link] [comments]

[Help] Macbook Pro won't turn on Posted: 09 Jun 2020 03:06 PM PDT Hi guys, Not sure if it's the right place, I 'inherited' a 2009 Macbook Pro A1286 and while the disk is fine the laptop itself won't turn on. I tried the 10 sec trick: disconnect charger, press hold On button for 10 secs, plug in charger, leave pressed another 10 secs, release then press to power on - no go I've opened and swapped the RAM or even removed completely - no go The battery is removable so I tried powering on without - no go I tried the CMD+S, P, R (or some letter combination) - no go Not sure if there's hope at this stage, I wanted to get it up and give to my Dad. Anyway let me know if it's fixable or if there's anything else I can try. Thanks! [link] [comments]
MacBook Air running Windows 10 not detecting Bluetooth Posted: 09 Jun 2020 02:38 PM PDT So I've been trying to connect my PS4 controller through Bluetooth, but when I search it immediately stops and says either turn on Bluetooth or restart, however there's no option to turn on or off Bluetooth. I messaged the Microsoft help and told me that the drivers weren't installed, and that there's no other way other than to buy a usb thing. Surely this isn't right and there's a way to install them? What would you do? I'm in need of a new Mac but I'm afraid to spend the big bucks right now Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:47 AM PDT I'm typing this on my trusty old late 2011 MacBook Pro that I have upgraded as much as possible with 16GB RAM and two SSD's (1TB + 2TB in place of optical drive). It functions OK for most things but I can't use any of the "modern" apple features such as handoff, Universal Clipboard, AirDrop, etc. I also cannot even begin to playback 4K video taken on my iPhone, much less edit anything. Of course it is also stuck on High Sierra which I'm guessing will lose support completely come this fall. To top it off, it has started to reboot at random without warning and with no error message. Could be a RAM issue but I just don't want to put too much effort into troubleshooting. I've been holding off buying a new MacBook for a couple years mainly because of the butterfly keyboards. Now that those are gone I am much more confident in buying one. My normal method would be to go for the highest spec machine I can afford so as to make sure it lasts as long as possible because I tend to keep them for a long time. There is just so much uncertainty right now with rumors of ARM coming to the Mac and such. So the idea I have now is that I could just get a MacBook Air to hold me over for a while. I don't do anything really heavy with my machine. I would just like to be able to view/lightly edit photos/videos and record and mix using Reaper. I'm sure that any newer machine would be significant upgrade from my nearly 10 year old MacBook. So I'm thinking of getting an i5 MacBook Air which is on sale for $1,199 (the same price I paid for my old MacBook Pro). It only has 8GB of RAM but I think I can live with that for now. What do you think? Obviously in the world of tech there is ALWAYS something around the corner and I can't wait forever but I like to get my moneys worth out of everything. [link] [comments]
Should I buy my cousin's MacBook Pro 16 for $3500? It's dented tho. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 04:05 AM PDT She originally bought it for $4300 for the MacBook Pro with high-end spec. I am bothered by the dent. It's still in warranty though. The rest is all good. It's used and dented. I'm not sure to buy it even though we're family. If u were in my position would you buy it? Sell 16" Macbook Pro? Not using it since COVID Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:26 AM PDT So I used to travel for work but since COVID I haven't traveled anywhere and my laptop has just been depreciating in value sitting at home. I have desktops at home and the office which I use for daily drivers. I don't see myself traveling again for another 6-8 months. Think I should sell it and buy something later when I need it next?
