I really wish Siri was able to follow up simple commands after the initial “Hey Siri” request

    Posted: 13 May 2020 08:57 AM PDT

Right now with something as common and simple as music you have to summon Siri every time you want to change a song.

But what if you don't like the next song? You have to summon Siri again. But wait a minute, what if you're not feeling that song either? You have to summon Siri yet again.

It would be much more natural and less robotic if instead of saying "Hey Siri next song" "Hey Siri next song" "Hey Siri next song" you could do the initial summon "Hey Siri next song" and you could follow up with just "Next" or "Next song"

I have HomePods and airplay music all the time to different speakers and always end up reaching for my phone instead of using Siri for music control for this reason.

Something minor but could improve general music control with Siri.

HeartApp on iWatch Worked Great for my Hx of Arrhythmia

    Posted: 13 May 2020 10:34 AM PDT

As a person with history of AV Nodal SVT and two cardiac catheter ablations ten years apart, I'm now sold on the Apple Watch HeartWatch app.

I'm typically around 70-80 bpm and am pretty in tune with myself, but haven't had an episode of rapid heart rate in 12 years now. Last night I felt my heart rate was a bit off. I was able to monitor my heart rate off-and-on with ECGs off the watch for about an hour at a consistent 107 bpm while lying at rest. I tried some exercises to resolve it before I decided to make the trip to the ER for the EKG.

Apple Watch captured multiple ECGs steady at 107; once symptoms were added (little tightness in breath, minor pain, shorter breathing), the app encouraged the visit to the ER. This morning, while looking at the overall app on my mobile, I see that I actually was having bursts at 5pm, 8pm, was elevated for several hours between 8-11pm, and then went into consistent arrhythmia around 11pm (when I realized something was up); by midnight at the ER I was consistently in the 120s.

Great app. 10/10 Would recommend for tracking. You have to know your body though; it doesn't auto alert you (makes sense because you might be walking to exercising), though it does take BPM readings throughout the day.

After ten years with no issues, hoping this is a one-off episode due to some recent stress and lack of sleep, maybe due to an elevated TSH, and no more trips or surgeries planned!

    Edit: Link to Screen Caps

Edit: Changed a reference from iWatch to Apple Watch because apparently that's more important than the entire message.

Suggestion: Apple Music should allow you to heart songs multiple times (basically upvoting)

    Posted: 13 May 2020 06:02 PM PDT

Sometimes I'm really feeling a song and go to heart it, then find out I've already done it, so there's nothing to do. That also means every song you heart gets the same exact bonus from a heart. For me personally, I tend to heart songs only if they're my absolute favorites as a result. For instance, I love Franz Ferdinand, but I don't want Apple suggesting music like them, so I don't bother hearting any of their songs. I'm not engaging with the system.

I think it'd be legitimately useful to heart songs multiple times. You'd basically be upvoting your own music library. It'd let your all-time favorite songs rise to the top and Apple could use that data to weigh those songs differently as it tailors suggestions to you. So I could heart Franz Ferdinand to let Apple know I really like them, but not nearly as much as I like, say LCD Soundsystem, where I'd give most of their songs dozens of hearts.

Plus, i think it'd be really fun. They could even adopt a familiar gesture like double-tapping the album art (a la Instagram) to make it even easier without digging into context menus. Maybe triple-tap to dislike?
