Posted: 06 Apr 2020 01:57 AM PDT There are a lot of posts on this sub with vague questions, vague symptoms, a lot of missing information and bad-explained overall. I wanted to show you how to ask a good question, from an ex-Apple iOS technician. Here's how to ask a good question: 1. iPhone model and iOS version e.g. iPhone XS running iOS 13.2 2. Purchase date, country and nature of purchase People who answer your issue can suggest certain repairs, e.g. warranty. Country and nature of purchase also helps, since countries have different consumer protection laws. For instance, members of the European Union have a two year warranty at the point of purchase (i.e. that might not be Apple, but your local electronics store if you bought it there) - some countries (e.g. the U.K. and The Netherlands) have even longer periods consumers can claim warranty. e.g. March 20th, 2019 in the Apple Store in the U.K., purchase for personal use 3. What is the issue, how often does it occur and how to replicate it? Some issues are continuous, some are intermittent. It is important to let people know what the issue is and how often it occurs. "iPhone restarts" as issue, is not enough. e.g. iPhone crashes to springboard when opening the camera-app, this happens about three times a day at random moments. It only happens when opening the camera-app. 4. What caused the issue? There's not always a clear cause, but think about anything that could've caused it. It could be because your phone was in your pocket during heavy rain, or your cat knocked it from your desk. It could be anything. 5. What did you try to resolve the issue and what was the result? So people don't waste time answering possibilities you already tried e.g. I tried to force-close the camera app. This did not work. Then I tried to restart the phone, that also did not work. 6. Any other information you think might be useful. Add photos or other comments ------------ If you want the best help, make sure to include these steps into your topic - this community is happy to help, but try to be as precise as possible. Posted: 06 Apr 2020 08:39 PM PDT I have deleted all history, put on and off Adblock, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, tried different browser apps and reset my phone and nothing has worked. Don't know how to fix this issue. Edit: info I can see the thumbnail of the videos and I can see the video progressing but once it's playing the picture goes. YouTube for example works in the app but not in the browser app. [link] [comments]  |

| Is there a search function for home videos on the TV app? Posted: 06 Apr 2020 11:57 PM PDT I'm gonna be putting my iTunes home videos on my iPhone soon, but I have one concern. I have over 1,000 individual files in home videos on iTunes, and I'd rather not have to manually scroll through all of them to find the one video I'm looking for, especially since my previous iPhone had trouble scrolling quickly when I had around 700 videos on there. | Pictures in text thread won’t download that did previously Posted: 06 Apr 2020 03:46 PM PDT Hi, I have an iPhone 11 max pro. I'm trying to look at pictures in a iMessage text thread. These were sent about a month ago and the template for the file number and .heic is all that appears. When I press "tap to download" it won't show a loading icon like it normally does and instead sends me immediately to the bottom of our text thread. Even photos I sent within our thread it's the same thing. When I tried the same thing with iMessages with someone else that were even older I am able to see the photos when I press tap to download. I have tried different wifi networks and cellular data to download them. Also have toggled the high efficiency/most compatible in camera settings. I was able to see the pictures when they were first sent. I have the latest version of ios. Help please! [link] [comments]  |
| Anyone experienced/ know what to do with these issues?? (iPhone 7) Posted: 06 Apr 2020 03:27 PM PDT Apologies in advance for the long post, I purchased this phone around 2 months ago and have only recently started experiencing the below issues! The phone is fine for a while after switching on but eventually shows major difficulties when in calls (no audio from caller/ no audio output to caller), facetimes (black screen, no audio from either end), playing videos (no audio, video pauses repeatedly, occasional pop up of the sound bar on the side but no control over it), playing music (sometimes does not play and often when playing it will play out of the phone speakers as opposed to the headphones that are plugged in). These problems are temporarily fixed if I turn the phone off, leave it for a while and then turn it back on - but even then they begin to occur again after 30mins/ 1hour of use. It's performance is making it incredibly difficult to use. If anyone has any help they can give I'd be more than grateful!! [link] [comments]  |
| Iphone message notification help Posted: 06 Apr 2020 03:20 PM PDT So recently my iPhone 11 hasn't been notifying my of my text messages. It shows up on the lock screen i've received a text. When I open to the home screen and look at the message app icon there is no indication of a new text. Not until I click on the icon then I see the blue dot for a new text message. It does not make a sound either even when my volume is up and on. Been a few days now. Everything else works fine (instagram/facebook notifications). Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 06 Apr 2020 10:33 AM PDT A couple of months ago, my friend hit the back of my iPhone XR really hard a couple of times. The iPhone worked fine, but after 10 days I had an issue with the camera. I realized that this issue began to happen after the ios 13.3.1 update. Whenever I unlock/lock my iPhone or use social media, I can hear a clicking noise from the camera. It's a sound as if the camera is trying to "wake-up or to focus". I then decided to restart the iPhone. After the update, that "clicking noise" began to happen when I'm using social media for 5 minutes and when I'm viewing stories on snapchat and instagram. Could it be something wrong in the camera? If it was a hardware damage, then why did the "clicking noise" begin to change after I restarted the iPhone? Would appreciate an answer. | [Question] Water damaged iPhone SE Posted: 06 Apr 2020 06:32 AM PDT Hello, I have an iPhone SE which was water damaged in June Of 2019. It happened in a pool. I took it out immediately and let it under the sunlight. But after that whenever I pressed the home or power button the phone would turn off and try to turn on by it self and it would keep turning off and trying to turn back on so I disconnected the home button and the power button stopped working now completely. The phone still works though, I can turn it on by using that function which you turn upwards the screen and go home with assistive touch, but I wanted to ask if there is any hope of a successful repair because it is still a nice phone and I really don't want to throw it away. | iPhone X - Siri Search and Suggestions Posted: 06 Apr 2020 04:49 AM PDT iPhone X running iOS 13.4 Purchased at release through carrier (EE) over the phone Had a continuous issue for the last few weeks where my phone would restart itself. In trying to fix this issue myself I've reset all the settings. My question is fairly simple (I hope). I had it so that my Siri suggestions screen just had my most recently used apps at the top of the screen, now it also has some suggested activities like Call X or Text Y. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? I've tried the Siri Suggestions setting under Siri & Search, but not combination of the options seems to get rid of these actions without also hiding the Apps. [link] [comments]  |

Can't the cover absorb the shock if it got dropped on the back?
