    One pet peeve that makes a small amount of iPad apps inconsistent is its inability to display in landscape. This is more prevalent on fully displayed apps like Drops.

    Escape Key and Power Off Button Keyboard shortcuts

    TIL that you can use command + period for the Escape Key functionality and control + command + Q to power off the iPad with a smart folio or magic keyboard. I switched directly from a windows laptop to the iPad Pro last year and never learnt this, so maybe for Mac users this has been well known.

    Anybody else have some hidden keyboard shortcuts tips that Apple never directly tells you about?

    Hey guys. So basically I need a new device, mainly for educational purposes and regular daily use, and I was wondering which of these devices you guys think would be better for a college student.

    I'll be majoring in nursing or biomedical sciences, and to be honest, I kinda want to get the iPad Pro, but I just wanna be sure I'm making the right decision since it's a large investment and I want this device to last for a long time.

    Btw, have you guys used Microsoft Word on the iPad Pro? Does it work well? Does iPadOS make it better?

    Did we ever get a satisfactory reason why the Magic Trackpad 1 works fine on macOS / windows (with drivers) but not with iPadOS?

    I seem to remember Devs in that other community getting it working fine on considerably way earlier versions of iOS. . .

    Why can't Apple?

    (Other then the obvious asinine 'moar sales' reasoning)

    Case substitute for logitech combo touch?

    So, I'm really interested in getting the logitech combo touch for my iPad Air 2019. The one thing holding me back, which I know sounds kind of silly, is the bulkiness of the case. I currently use the Smart-cover and love having the iPad body be mostly exposed and slim.

    Since the combo touch keyboard fully disconnects, I was wondering whether it might be possible to buy a separate slim case with kickstand / folding back, which still has enough room at the bottom cutout area (around the smart connector) to accommodate the combo touch keyboard and not interfere with it.

    I've been trying to find a closeup shot of that area of the case to determine whether this might be possible, but can't find a good angle online.

    For those of you with a combo touch, is this a crazy idea or does it seem plausible that a different folio case could possibly work? For example, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/ProCase-Lightweight-Translucent-Frosted-10-5-Inch/dp/B071J2SSYH

    When I work I am more efficient using my pc, but I enjoy more the iPad experience.

    So, last week I bought an iPad mini, with the idea of using it only to consult the work I do on my pc (I'm a lawyer and a college teacher, I also like tuo use Photoshop and Lightroom) but only a week later I discovered that I find way more enjoyable the iPad experience also to create, and not only to consult. Everything is so smooth, and switching from the keyboard to the pencil is so useful. I know that when I work I'm more efficient with my laptop, I just like more to use the iPad when I can.

    Jump Desktop for gaming?

    So this is mainly directed towards the gamers among us but does anybody know if Jump Desktop is any good for gaming? I've been using Moonlight and while its not bad i would prefer genuine mouse support.

    Wish iPad would remember keyboard based on orientation

    I always want to use the full size keyboard when in landscape and I always want to use the little floating keyboard when in portrait. Anyone else wish their iPad remembered their keyboard preference for each orientation?

    I have an Ipad Mini 5th gen.

    I discovered the app shift screen this week, and i was thinking to give a try on it.

    But i would need to buy the apple adapter, lightning to HDMI. The problem is that i have an ultra wide monitor. Did anyone tried it? Is there a delay?

    Good place to sell my Apple Smart Keyboard Folio?

    I have an iPad Pro 11" 2018 model. Apple released new iPad Pro models and magic keyboards a month after I purchased these. I called Apple and they said they couldn't exchange or return because it is out of 14 day period. I want to buy the Magic keyboard with the trackpad. Is there any place I can sell my keyboard folio and get a decent amount back.

    Any site that I can sell my keyboard. I searched online and found websites like usell.com and buybackworld.com and they are offering $60. Has anyone used these before? Are they trustworthy?

    Questions Regarding Smart Keyboard for iPad Air/2017 Pro

    Hi all, I'm considering purchasing an apple smart keyboard for my iPad Air (3rd generation, from 2019) in order to increase my productivity. I write many emails and documents on a daily basis and just hate the on-screen keyboard for fast typing. Before I pull the trigger on it, I have a few questions:

    • What are the keyboard keys made of? Is it plastic or some sort of cloth?
    • Is there some kind of noise to the keys when you type? Is it a click, or a similar sound to the keyboards of the newer iPad Pros?
    • How annoying is the unevenness in the keyboard/iPad combo when it is folded up? Is it that noticeable?
    • How well does it work on your lap while sitting down on a chair or a couch?

    Mirroring iPad screen on Linux

    Hey, has someone found a way to mirror an iPad screen on Linux? On macos you'd use QuickTime and on windows you'd use something like lonelyscreen, but I haven't found any equivalents for Linux and I could really use it.
