Random very fast back flash when on a FaceTime call? Posted: 26 Apr 2020 10:33 PM PDT It happens SO fast, a black screen flashes on the screen. I'm not sure how to describe it, I guess it would be as if someone quickly waved their hand on the cam. I have everything updated, and the person I FaceTime with does too. [link] [comments] |

Is it possible to merge the data from two different phones? Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:56 PM PDT I have an iPhone X and an iPhone 7. I've had the X for a couple months, and when I set it up I simply used the same apple ID but never synced the data between the two phones as I planned on keeping the 7 as a burner. Anyways push comes to shove, I'm now selling the 7 because I'm not important enough to need a burner, and I'd like to transfer all the nostalgic messages and photos to my new(er) phone. At the very least I'd like this data to be on my computer and readable. Is any of this possible? I have a big lack of knowledge because everything else I own besides my phone and watch is Windows/Android. Thanks for any help. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:48 PM PDT (Typo *is) Figured this would be the best place to ask since quarantine has everything closed, 2 nights ago I spilled water on my MacBook Air at night and the next morning we took out the battery cleaned it up the best we could. I can currently now get it powered up when resetting the SMC (with shift ctrl option power) or resetting the PRAM (option command p r) but once I get it started up, the fans are very loud and it's stuck on a reset password screen and I can't move the trackpad or type with the keyboard. My power chargers light also doesn't come on but it seems to work. Can anyone give suggestions or help? [link] [comments] |
The password for the account “ “ was not changed Posted: 26 Apr 2020 12:54 PM PDT Your system administrator may not allow you to change your password or there was some other problem with your password. Contact your system administrator for help. I get this message when I try to change my password and I am the system administrator. I have no idea what to do other than reinstall the OS. Mac won't recognise burned DVDs in superdrive Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:37 PM PDT Computer: macBook Air 13-in early 2015 running 10.14 Drive: Apple SuperDrive Just burned a video to a DVD using the Burn application. Burn automatically converts .mpg into the format the DVDs use. However, when I try to play this DVD on my SuperDrive, it says "Blank Disk Inserted" and there's no way to see if there are even files on the disk at all. I can tell visually that the DVD was burned, but the computer just doesn't recognise it. [link] [comments] |
Help with Macbook Pro reinstall Posted: 26 Apr 2020 05:44 PM PDT My brother need to install adobe. So trying to reinstall the OS to remove case sensitive, it failed. Any try to reinstall macOS fails in the last 15 seconds of installation. There isn't any Time Machine Backup. And for some weird reasion the disk Utility isn't working right The SSD shows like this (see the 3 images). https://imgur.com/a/UXyzDMB There is the original not initialized SSD, with a partition in it that holds the OS?, then a preboot drive. Can't make new partitions or delete the current ones (also for some reason right-click or equivalent isn't working). First Aid also do nothing. Now the question is. How do i factory reset or fix this?. First time doing repair to a mac. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Just moved from USA to UK, need to change Posted: 26 Apr 2020 08:59 AM PDT I've just spent 15 years in the US, and I'm now back in the UK. I've tried keeping the US AppStore, but I now need to switch to the UK one. Is it true, that I will loose all of my content purchased in the US store? I have hundreds of songs, and movies and apps. Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:23 AM PDT Hello, I want to change my Apple ID ["x1@icloud.com](mailto:%22x1@icloud.com)" to ["x2@icloud.com](mailto:%22x2@icloud.com)" (not my actual Apple ID). I've read countless of guides but when I log in to appleid.apple.com the button to change my Apple ID is not there. Is there a way to change it or do I have to call Apple Support? Just bought a new battery for my 2012 15” MacBook Pro and it stopped working/charging Posted: 26 Apr 2020 08:27 PM PDT A little backstory, I just replaced my original battery (yes I know "what took you so long") after it died and wouldn't charge. It would display a green light on the charger but wouldn't turn on, and the little battery checker button (which I love) would have one light that blinked rapidly. I just bought and successfully installed a new battery from OWC, however like an idiot I didn't calibrate it. It worked for a few days, but today it died and after charging for a while isn't turning back on. It's actually acting the same way as the old battery - green light, not turning on, rapid blinking green light on the battery checker. I totally get that this could be my fault for not calibrating it, so go easy on me, would love some guidance though! Also, I'm using an aftermarket charger from amazon, the $20 one. Thanks for reading! [link] [comments] |

2012 Macbook Pro won't charge beyond 99%. Should I still leave it plugged in most of the time? Posted: 26 Apr 2020 03:55 PM PDT My MBP actually charged up to 100% one night, but I haven't seen it gone up there since. I don't know if there's something wrong, but I just don't have the time to experiment and see how to bring it up to 100%. This brings me to my concerns: should I still leave my MBP plugged in at 99%? I know it's recommended to keep it plugged it in and only use the battery some of the time, but I'm using a fan control program that switches settings depending on whether the MBP is using the battery or charger as the main energy source. So far it's using the setting for the battery when I have it plugged in at 99% (which indicates that it's not using the charger/AC power as the source). Does this mean I'm constantly charging my MBP? Will this affect its battery life? It went up from 60 cycle counts to 104 within 2 days, and I've only physically plugged it in and out twice; within those two days it never came close to 0%. Also, it seem to be going down 1% every 4 minutes. Is this normal? Update: I let it go down to 90% before plugging it back in. Now it's at 100%, and it seems to be using the proper power source now (AC power). [link] [comments] |
“Hey Siri can’t hear me when the water is running” Posted: 26 Apr 2020 07:35 PM PDT I have noticed that when I use "hey Siri" while the water in the kitchen sink is running and the sound is coming from the water splashing into the bottom of the sink, "hey Siri" can't hear me at all. I noticed it does this if I have my phone in the bathroom and the shower is on, even when I'm right next to the phone it won't hear me until I turn the shower off. Just curious if anyone else has experienced/noticed this. I assume the sound of splashing water creates a large amount of background noise, but I would think it would still hear me when I'm right next to it. It happens when I use the microphone on the phone as well as when I use my AirPod pros. Not a tech-support question. Just a quirk that I'm curious about. [link] [comments] |
