    A thought I had about iOS 14 and its rumoured features

    Introduction

    We've heard rumours about an optional scrolling home screen, more wallpaper options, and now widgets on the home screen right?

    iOS 14

    The thought I had doesn't include the wallpaper bit too much BUT what if the scrolling home screen and home screen widgets are part of the same thing? Like what if the scrolling home screen basically looks like the widget page but you can put apps in it! I know you can get apps suggested by Siri in the widget page right now but this would let you put any app you wanted. And they could keep a dock as well so the scrolling items go under it and then spotlight at the top.

    So yeah I've just been picturing the widget page but with apps and a dock and maybe a slightly different layout(?).

    iPadOS 14

    This would also look INSANE on an iPad where you might be able to have 3-4 columns of apps and widgets, and you can edit each column separately. And I think all 3 columns would scroll together just for simplicity and besides if you imagine a whole screen full of apps and widgets moving together it just seems more epic lol especially with the widgets updating in real time. It would look like a giant dashboard of frosted glass goodness.

    Wallpapers

    And of course, you could see your wallpaper too because maybe while the widgets might have the frosted glass look, the apps may not so your wallpaper would be visible. ALSO the fact that Apple is adding a lot of gradient and flat colour designs might be because those might be preferred when you can't see behind the widget/app scrolling home screen anyways.

    Conclusion

    Anyways, yeah that's the thought I had about iOS 14 and its rumoured features. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

    this was initially only planned to be a small project to test the new SwiftUI framework. Now, given our situation, with not much to do in my free time, I decided to publish it. It is a small little app, but I hope you will have fun with it. There are already some incredible scores on the leaderboards.
