I've turned on/off the override setting on apple tv options, gone to Netflix.com and enlarged the subtitles and it takes effect on everything except my apple tv. | AirPod Pros sound awful with Apple TV 4K Posted: 01 Jan 2020 07:15 AM PST Has anyone else had issues with AirPod Pro sound quality with the Apple TV 4K? It started when I updated to the latest firmware 13.3.1. The sound is tinny and just bad. I tried different settings and it's bad, bad, and worse. And yes, "Full Dynamic Range" is selected. I tried switching it to "Reduce Loud Sounds" to see if that would change anything. It made it worse. Switched back to my Bose QC 35 ii and the audio sounds fine. I'm guessing this is an Apple TV software issue because the AirPods sound great every else. [link] [comments]  | ||
| Apple TV 4K for basic streaming? Posted: 01 Jan 2020 03:00 PM PST Hi Apple TV sub! I'm moving to a new apartment (in the US) and got Verizon Fios (300/300). I have a $150 gift card to use, and was thinking of using it on an Apple TV 4K, 32GB (currently around $160-170) I am in the Apple eco system (iPhone, Macbook, Apple ID), but don't use Apple Music, iTunes for movie rental/purchase, etc. I would mostly use for Netflix, HBO, YouTube TV or Sling, Amazon Prime. Questions: a) What are the main benefits and drawbacks of the Apple TV 4K vs. something like a Roku? b) Is the Apple TV 4K overkill for my needs? If so, what other device(s) would you recommend instead? c) How important is storage on any device? (32GB vs. 64GB, for example) d) If I should go with Apple TV 4K, is it wise to wait and hope for a new model? Or is this pretty future proof now? Don't like the idea of spending so much only to reinvest in 6 months e) What do you love most about your Apple TV? Esp. vs. other options out there? f) How bad is that Apple TV remote really? "Ruins the entire experience" bad? Other points: - I like Airplay to screencast my Macbook, but suppose I could use an HDMI cable for when needed- I've never watched anything in 4K, but like the idea of being able to do so with streaming services- I appreciate things just working seamlessly (no lag, poor interface, etc.) Thank you!! | Posted: 01 Jan 2020 10:06 AM PST Kinda new to messing w this. Have a new ATV 4K and using it on Samsung UN70KU6300 70 Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart LED TV (2016 Model). The ATV allows me to enable HDR but I get some snow and crackling audio....on 4K SDR there is no issues. Any thoughts on settings either on atv or Samsung to try? HDMI cables are somewhat new and hidden in wall so swapping out will take some work. Is 4K sdr good enough? Tv is 2016 model so maybe it's just not up to snuff? Thanks all! Hny! I am having an issue where the slideshow starts normally but after a while, instead of progressing further, it goes back to the first photo and keeps repeating only a number of photos instead of showing all the photos in the album?
