I need urgent advice on ipad choices - my life is now complicated and unbearable. and I am scared. Posted: 04 Nov 2019 06:53 PM PST Hi everyone. I have autism and my ipad was my AAC communication device. I used an app called avaz. This is a picture of my AVAZ app. https://i.imgur.com/Cun8vXv.jpg My ipad stopped charging. It was an ipad air. It was bought previously with a grant I was awarded many years ago, I think 2013. I need to know what the oldest ipads are running ios 12 and above are so I can work out how to get a new one second hand. Being over 25 makes getting some of the grants very hard as I am no longer a young adult but I did begin the process today too of trying to get assistance that way. It has complicated my going out and my ability to communicate as well as my ability to process things such as feelings. I just am not even sure what I should be looking at as I just mostly used the ipad for communication. AVAZ, email, skype and various talking. But also a few games. But I know it has to be over ios 12 for avaz to work at its best. As there were some updates I needed ios 12 for. Also. A big question I have. Do I need to get another grant for AVAZ or is it tied to my ios account and will work on a new ipad?!? As it was a 200 dollar communication app. [link] [comments]

Looking for a PDF annotation app that syncs with files on OneDrive Posted: 05 Nov 2019 12:29 PM PST Hello guys My workflow: lecture videos on the left, scanned notes or book PDF on the right of the split screen. Annotations, edits and highlighting done on the notes with the Apple Pencil. All my pdfs are synced with onedrive. Currently looking for a moderately advanced PDF annotator (I don't need a 'PDF editor' per se as I'm not looking to edit or delete elements of the original PDF). At present using the onedrive app for annotations. It's a little basic. Would like something that has pen and highlighter color choices accessible within the least number of taps. Any suggestions would be appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Nov 2019 08:45 AM PST How do you program keys for the hardware keyboard on iPad? Because I use a colemak layout, which they do have pre programmed on the iPad, but they dont have caps lock programmed as backspace (a common trait of a colemak layout) and I was wondering if there was any way to program it as such. Using an Apple Pencil for Writing/Editing? Posted: 05 Nov 2019 01:27 PM PST I'm an author who is currently trying to consider if I can use my iPad as my primary writing device. I use Ulysses to write my novel and it works amazingly! However, not having a mouse can still bite me at times when trying to select text. I get that I can use the keyboard to select text, but would having the Apple Pencil be useful for text selection, commenting, etc? [link] [comments]
Ipad as primary display with macbook Posted: 05 Nov 2019 09:45 AM PST Can it be done? Looks like sidecar only works the other way around i.e. your ipad is the secondary display to your mac. I want the macbook to be an extension of the ipad so i can type with macbook while having the ipad on a low angle without that laggy usage of the apple pencil when the ipad is the secondary display [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Nov 2019 12:57 PM PST There are times when I want to use the iPad sans the keyboard cover, but I find it too slippery/hard to keep a grip on. I'm considering getting a more textured skin to put on the back, but I don't want to mess up the magnet connection between the keyboard and iPad. Any personal experiences, or thoughts? Are iPads other than the iPad Pro good to take notes in classes? Posted: 05 Nov 2019 12:56 PM PST Hi all! Looking to buy myself either a Mac or an iPad to take notes in class. Leaning more towards an iPad as using a pen to draw some graphics would make taking notes solely on my iPad much easier. Currently shopping online, and the price for an iPad Pro that isn't refurbished is pretty damn high compared to other iPads... Do other iPads perform well to take notes in class? Do they also perform well to do some school work using Word/Excel (if not, no biggy as I have another computer already)? Thank you! [link] [comments]

Is it possible to save writable PDF in Adobe to SharePoint on ipad? Posted: 05 Nov 2019 12:23 PM PST Hi everyone I've asked this question on r/Adobe , r/sharepoint and now here. My workflow changed... too late. Posted: 05 Nov 2019 08:36 AM PST I have been using an iPad for drawing and creative work for years, ever since the first iPad and I dreamt of making it my only device. Procreate is that good of a drawing app and keeps getting better. Imagine my surprise as the iPad gets more and more pro features and apps like Photoshop move over to the iPad—I want to use my laptop and mouse way more. I use my iPad for mainly reading and have taken up the mouse/Wacom to do digital illustrations because other than drawing, I just struggle with the iPad. The mouse and feature rich desktop apps are more important to me in a design and illustration career. They're just more fun to use as I get better results out of it. TLDR wanted iPad to be computer replacement, as it moves towards that goal it shows its limitations as a computer replacement. Am bummed. [link] [comments]

Does anyone have a good way to install fonts (a lot of them)? Posted: 05 Nov 2019 11:14 AM PST I am working on trying to move more of my work flow to my iPad and part of that requires that I have access to my collection of fonts. I do all my graphic work on the iPad currently and up until now, have been moving my work onto my MacBook to tweak and add fonts. Now that Photoshop is on the iPad I would like to move away from having to use my MacBook as well. I have 400+ fonts all of which are saved onto my external hard drive. Is there anyway to bulk upload them onto the iPad? [link] [comments]
Anyone experiencing font installations from Adobe CC changing entirely upon installation? Posted: 05 Nov 2019 10:57 AM PST Feeling like it's almost 'too soon' to be mucking around with Adobes newest offerings.. bug after bug after glitch after glitch. I choose a font to install and it literally changes to another one entirely once the install completes.. condensed San-serif font instantly changes to a fat slab serif I don't recognize, script becomes condensed San serif, etc.. Good apps for 3 to 5 year old kids and how to use the iPad effectively with said kids Posted: 05 Nov 2019 04:58 AM PST I've recently got an iPad Air and want to use it with my kids a bit more. I've googled good apps for kids but they all recommend mine craft and their ilk which isn't really what I'm looking for. Does anyone have any good recommendations for good apps that will promote learning and also a simple drawing app as I would like to encourage that as well. Also does anyone have any tips on how to use it effectively with kids so they don't just go on YouTube and watch baboo and blippi? [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Nov 2019 03:58 AM PST I am looking for a mail app which lets me create a smart folder which contains all mails from selected mailbox folders like inbox, spam, unknown etc. On AquaMail there is the SmartBox where I can select different folders from different mail adresses. Do you have any suggestions? [link] [comments]
PSDs are considered images? AirDrop/share annoyance Posted: 05 Nov 2019 08:34 AM PST When sending a PSD to my ipad it doesn't give me the option I usually get with files to import to photos or save elsewhere. It assumes it's a regular photo and that I WANT it in Photos. I do not. This means I have to share a 2nd time from photos to Files to open in Adobes new photoshop app, since it doesn't yet support multitasking/drag-drop. Is there a way to tell the OS to consider them what they actually are? [link] [comments] |
