So I am wondering if I bought a Watch, paired it with a random (my brother's) iPhone and put the physical SIM that corresponds to the eSIM in my Samsung then everything would work? Like new physical condition ✅ No passcode ✅ THEN...I noticed during the configuration process that the school district name popped up. I ignored it, and when I cleared through the installation process I saw a bunch of children's apps being installed. This is how I discovered it had remote management enabled, and that only the school can remove it. I'm waiting on a response from them, but in the meantime I have multiple items, and I am willing to sacrifice one for trial and error to see if there's a way to jailbreak it, or to try a workaround that someone has had success in implementing. | I’m having trouble connecting a 2013 MBA 11” to an ultrawide monitor Posted: 27 Nov 2019 06:16 PM PST Hi all, I have a 2013 MacBook Air 11" with the HD5000 graphics (running Catalina) that I am trying to connect to my LG 29UM58 monitor. I am using a 4K capable mini display port to hdmi cable. The issue I'm having is that I'm only getting 1920x1080 resolution, when my monitor is 2560x1080. There are no other options under display settings. I have double checked that my MacBook is capable of pushing 4K so power isn't an issue. I have also heard of SwitchResX but I would really prefer not to use that. The weird thing is during boot and login it detects and fills the entire display perfectly, it's only once finder starts up after login it reverts back to 16:9. Could it possibly be the cable I'm using even though it says 4K capable? Would I need a mDisplay port to display port adapter instead? (My monitor takes both DP and HDMI) Any help is appreciated, thank you [link] [comments]  |

| Can no longer play my own movies and home movies on Apple TV after iTunes retired. Posted: 27 Nov 2019 09:36 PM PST I have a large number of home movies with my family as well as other movies which I had been storing/playing from an external drive in the days of iTunes. This worked well with Home Sharing, etc. I basically made the Movies and Home Movies folders into aliases which pointed to the external folders. Now with the conversion to Apple TV, I can still play all of my Apple TV/iTunes purchased movies, but I cannot get my personal library to load. I've gone into Apple TV/Setting/Files and changed the name of the library to my aliased lib. I got a dialogue box asking, "Would you like to move and rename the files in your new Media folder to match the "Keep Media folder organized" preference?". I said no, because who knows what craziness will ensure if said Yes. I've got way too many movies to have stuff get lost. Apple TV now also seems to be DRM checking my old m4v movie names created with handbrake. Anyone in a similar boat? [link] [comments]  |

It's coming from the left side near the charging port. My battery says "replace soon" but it's said that for a year or close to it. My computer seems to be charging fine and isn't overheating. Another thing I've noticed is my screen will have little black lines flash across occasionally, especially if I'm working on a large file in photoshop. Other than that, computer is working fine. It's some background process that usually runs when I'm away from the Mac. I've checked my login/startup items, and system extensions. Thought it might be a screen saver, so I've turned it off. | Contacts after switching iPhones Posted: 27 Nov 2019 08:56 PM PST Recently, I got an iPhone 7 and gave my dad my old SE as a temporary replacement after he broke his old iPhone 6. After signing into his own iCloud account and adding back all his contacts (which weren't synced for some reason?) I realized that my new phone which already had contacts, was getting his contacts added to my list as well. I googled it and nothing is working, I already unsynced his iCloud contacts and mine as well and nothing has changed. Someone please help because I have no idea what to do and this is really bugging me. I also forgot to mention that when I delete the contacts that are added to my phone to his (my old phone) they get deleted on his as well. [link] [comments]  |

The device will connect to wifi at home and hold the connection visually with full bars, however it will frequently drop actual connection providing messages within apps such as "no internet connection" although full wifi bars are there. This is especially strange since all my other laptops, tablets, phones are connected to the same router with no issues. Important to note, this is my third iPhone 11 I am experiencing this on, I had returned the others to Apple and was given a new one each time. The technician I spoke with believed it to be the "bands" in the phone causing the issue. I do not know if that is truly the issue because I am still experiencing this with a completely new one. It's strange because wifi at work is completely fine for me with this phone, it's only at home that this happens. I was under the impression that it could be iOS 13, but could it be the way my phone and router are communicating with one another when they connect? Toggling the wifi on and off fixes it for a brief second, but it becomes unusable quickly after. I've tried resetting the network, resetting the router, restoring the iPhone, starting fresh as a "new" iPhone from no backup, and even purchased a new router a TPLink AC4000 which has worked with everything else at home. | Posted: 27 Nov 2019 07:30 PM PST Right so I fucked up. I had a stick space bar on a laptop that's literally two months old, and because I'd done it before took the key off to clean it. What I didn't realise is that they new MAC book air has a new keyboard. I tried to get the key back on and it's now working even worse. Like I have to punch it to get it to work. What's apples policy on this ? Seeing different stuff everywhere. Going to the Genius Bar tomorrow. What can I expect? I have finals in like a week so am pretty fucked if I can't get this fixed ASAP ! I have Apple Care and it's two months old so still under warranty. Much appreciated [link] [comments]  |

| Trying to edit music on an iPod Touch without Apple ID password Posted: 27 Nov 2019 12:47 PM PST A store in my company has an iPod Touch (A1574 model) that is currently "owned" by a guy in our corporate office several states away. I have the password to unlock the iPod, but not his iTunes password. My district manager asked me to add Christmas music to the iPod, because the guy only put like 20 Christmas songs. But I can't think of a way to add any music, and my district manager is afraid of insulting the corporate guy by asking for the password or letting me force any kind of reset in case it alerts him. At my store we have an old iPod nano that I can put whatever I want on with my work laptop. So, I already have a playlist I could use, but iTunes wont let me add anything. Any ideas? My only thought was maybe a 3rd party app exists that can put music onto the ipod? [link] [comments]  |
