    Complaint: AppStore should not let reference type apps change their app to subscription model and remove the original version

    As a doctor I use a few apps on my iPhone for reference purpose. There's an app that I use sometimes called "PPM Genius" which is essentially an almanac for hundreds of cardiac pacemakers in the market. It describes some important differences for all of them and it helps me prepare my cases as an anaesthetist.

    When I bought the app 10 months ago, it was a once-off purchase of 10 dollars. Today, when I tried launching the app, to my surprise it has been updated to a new version and it displays only a "login screen". It turns out that the app has been updated one week ago, and they are "proudly announcing" the new subscription model where we have to pay 10 dollars per year to continue using the latest versions.

    I feel absolutely disgusted and ripped off by this company. To me, what they have done is essentially sell an almanac, decide 10 months later that "actually we didn't sell you the book, we just rented to you, and then reclaim the almanac without any notification unless I pay them rent.

    (Some people are going to say that I could have refused to update to the latest version, however these days Appstore's default option is automatic update, and the onus should not really be on me to keep an eye out on companies trying to rip people off. Apple should not allow such change in model of subscription and force people to lose their almanac for something they have purchased with the assumption that they get to keep it forever like a book)

    TL/DR: Bought a "reference" app as a once-off purchase. App automatically updated. Now lost access as new version is "subscription model". Can't even view my original version. Feel ripped off.

    Can you still get a contact’s “Shared Name and Photo” after initially saying no.

    With iOS 13 shared contact info, if I get that top bar asking if I want to use a contact's "shared" Contact Name and Photo and I answer no, is there still a way to say yes after the fact?

    Beats connect pop up doesn’t match headphone color in 13.2. I have gold Solo3 and they now show up white and not gold. Was this feature intentionally removed?

    Hello all. I recently migrated over to iPhone after trying Android for a few months and upon my return, i noticed that i no longer have visual voicemail. Whenever i go to the voicemail tab, it just says "call voicemail". I also don't get notified about new voicemail. Does anyone have suggestions on how to combat this? If it helps, i have a 8 Plus with Verizon (with visual voicemail capabilities). Thanks

    Just updated my se to 13.2 and it's super slow and overheating in 2 minutes. Like burning hot to the touch overheating. Has anyone experienced this?

    1Blocker which went to 1BlockerX and now is back to 1Blocker and is now moving to an annual subscription model.

    While they offer a lifetime payment of £13 their own documentation says that the pay once model doesn't work. So I can only assume lifetime means until they make a new version again.

    What's the next best thing? As I am getting sick of paying monthly for everything in my life. It all adds up before you go and tell me "It's only a cup of coffee" blah blah blah. Right now I am paying for a lot of fucking coffee! Plus I'm not giving up my coffee.

    Issues with safari and homekit after updating to iOS13.2

    I have started facing the following issues after updating my X to iOS13.2. Anyone facing the same? Any solutions?

    • Safari reloads almost every time from app switcher with even 0 tabs open.
    • Safari loads with a white splash screen, even though I have dark mode enabled.
    • control centre HomeKit accessories open with white background even with dark mode enabled.
    • I don't see an option to separate the grouped accessories in the Home app. (That may be because I have setup iPad mini2 as home hub, which is running iOS12.4).
    • Mail app randomly reloads from app switcher even if I have barely 5-6 apps open. No heavy apps or games.

    Beware! Afrter iOS 13.2 update, content of all tables in my Apple Notes disappeared

    I kept logins, router ip configurations etc. neatly in tables, and after 13.2 update, I opened a note to find out that there is an empty box in place of every table I had in all my notes!

    Here's a few days old thread claiming that it happened in 13.1 too, so it might be an iCloud sync issue?

    GPS location broken after iOS 13.2 update on two iPads in multiple apps.

    I updated two iPads (Pro and Mini both non cellular) to 13.2 and now the GPS location is no longer recognised in Apple maps, Google Maps or Pokemon Go. I have reset the network settings and location privacy, and restored the iOS on the iPad Pro with no success. Am I alone with this issue as I can't find any similar feedback online?

    Apps not updating on ios13.2

    When trying to update apps on iOS 13.2, apps just hang in state and don't update. Restarting iPhone 11Plus temporarily fixes the issue, but then issue occurs again. Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas on how to fix?

    Getting my music back on my iPhone after changing to iCloud backup

    After years of only using iTunes for my backups I finally switched to iCloud, and most of my music disappeared. Can I still sync my phone with iTunes to get stuff back on it, or will that conflict somehow with my iCloud backups? It seems like I should be able to, but thought I'd ask before something bites me.

    New AirPods pro settings in accessibility

    Messy UI in the Photos app. Waste of space! I’d like to see a larger video at the top and move the filters to the bottom. Also, the ability to Trim Original video or create a new one again, not sure why they removed that. Just my thoughts :)

    After updating my phone xr to IOS 13, my phone won't connect to my computer anymore and my computers says I need to update to the latest version, but I'm afraid my computer will run slow if I update it? What should I do, I want to back up my phone before I bring it in for a screen fix, but I don't want my computer to run inefficiently?
