Warning: $9.99 note app Notes Plus just dropped third party stylus support (Adonit/Wacom)

    Posted: 23 Sep 2019 12:14 AM PDT

This may be very niche even on this sub, but there may be some people here who use third party active Bluetooth styli like the Adonit Pixel or Wacom Bamboo. These pencils are nice options for people on older iPads and work quite well in supported apps. The first to drop support was Goodnotes when they released Goodnotes 5 as a new app, but at least they kept v. 4 in the store for existing customers. Now Notes Plus however is dropping support in update 6.3 and all they do for their existing customers is this short note in the changelog: 'If you're using third-party styluses, please consider to stick with your current Notes Plus version.' Unfortunately, it's very hard to keep an app from updating at some point, so this basically renders the app useless as of now.

App for converting RAW file types? (ARW to DNG)

    Posted: 23 Sep 2019 01:40 PM PDT

Now that I can easily use iPadOS Files for loading my Sony ARWs from my camera to my iPad, I was wondering if anyone has used a good ARW to DNG converter. The ARWs are 50 mb each and that is taking quite a bit of space of my Creative Cloud cloud storage once I import them in to Lightroom CC. I know I can convert on a desktop, but I'm trying to keep a desktop out of my workflow on some of my travel trips.

Does anyone have any fixes for non responsive touches on iPad Pro 2018? I play pubg mobile and Every couple of days I run into the issue where the screen doesn’t respond to touches. When it happens it lasts for a couple of days and happens throughout any app. Then other days it’s fine. THANKS.

One of the unspoken benefits of using a mouse with iOS/iPadOS is that you get to enjoy your iPad with a completely fingerprint-free screen if you so desire.

Will iPadOS finally allow me to ditch my old AF Dell laptop?!?!

    Posted: 23 Sep 2019 01:46 PM PDT

I've had a Dell laptop for going on 7 years now. A couple years ago, I purchased the iPad Pro 10.5 with the hopes of finally being able to retire my Dell. Unfortunately, with the iPad confined to the quirks of iOS, it was never the laptop killer I was hoping for. There ended up being just too many tasks I would need or prefer a full-fledged computer OS to perform. Since then, with both an iPhone as my EDC tech and a laptop docked at home, my iPad Pro became kind of superfluous and just sat on the charger at home not really getting used that much. Pretty much the only time it would get love is when I'd grab it for flights/vacations or when I'd get the random inspiration to draw something in Procreate.

With the anticipated release of iPadOS tomorrow and several included features that move it closer to a full-fledged OS, I'm hoping I may actually finally retire my old, worn-out Dell laptop. My Dell is so old, slow, glitchy, and lagging that I cringe whenever I have to use it. So much so, that I avoid doing most things at home that might be easier/faster/better on a computer. As such, I haven't been using my Dell much either over the past several months.

To prepare for iPadOS tomorrow, I have already ordered a Lightning-to-USB adapter and an Anker powered USB hub. I cannot wait to update to iPadOS, connect a full keyboard and my trackball mouse, and mirror it to a larger monitor. I'm trying to set up a full docking/hub solution so I can use my iPad Pro as a full-fledged workstation when at home.

What has anyone else done (or will do with iPadOS) to create a full workstation environment using their iPad Pro?

Help! My iPad pops up a not secure window all the time!

    Posted: 23 Sep 2019 01:34 PM PDT

When using reddit app, chrome, or google search app, I keep getting a window that says connection not secure, open in safari to find out why. Of course it never tells me why.

Can I shut this pop up off, or is my iPad forever destined to annoy me for not using safari?

    Thanks.

I have a 2017 iPad Pro 10.5". I need some type of fast charger.

    Posted: 23 Sep 2019 07:30 AM PDT

What is the ideal wattage (?) for a charger for this iPad? I have just been using the crappy 5W that came with my iPhone 7, and its time to change to a more efficient charger. Would an 18W be good? More?

    Thanks!

Are Bluetooth keyboards compatible with Apple Arcade?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2019 12:05 PM PDT

I'm hoping to start the Apple Arcade free trial when iPadOS is officially released tomorrow. Are the games able to be controlled with a Bluetooth keyboard? I use mine regularly with my iPad, but I don't have any Bluetooth controllers.

Can anyone with procreate help me export some files?

    Posted: 23 Sep 2019 08:05 AM PDT

My iPad crashes every time I try to export some procreate files as PDF and I have to send them in a few hours, it's kinda urgent. Would anyone be able to help? I can send a link to a google drive folder with all the .procreate files (5). I'm not sure if these kind of posts are allowed but I'm kinda desperate so sorry in advance 😩
