    A few questions for students who use the iPad Pro!

    Hi everyone! I'm a college student that is thinking of buying the 2018 11 inch iPad Pro. I already have a 2013 MacBook Pro that I have been using for years now, but I want an iPad Pro with the Pencil to make things a whole lot easier.

    This is my first iPad so I have no experience with it at all, so I have a few questions for those of y'all that have been using an iPad for awhile now.

    1. Is the 64GB iPad enough if I already have a MacBook Pro? I'm planning on using the iPad to take in-class notes and read textbooks with. I mainly use Dropbox so I don't plan on saving a lot of things locally in the iPad, other than textbooks, notes, and some productivity apps. I will be using my MacBook for everything else, such as writing papers, research, and the like.
    2. I have never downloaded a textbook before so how does one get around on doing so? Do I just download the textbooks through apps like Amazon and read it through the app or will I get a PDF version that will need a PDF app? Will I be able to annotate on the pages for my personal notes?
    3. What is the best note-taking app for the iPad? Is Notability really the best overall app for taking notes in class and organizing?
    4. What are other things do you use the iPad for in school?

    Eager to hear your thoughts. I've noticed that before a product refresh, the lowest price isn't usually right before, rather, it's months before. It's likely that we've already seen the lowest price for the iPad Pro 11 ($599) which was in July, and it might not hit those levels again

    Wait for an updated 2019 iPad Pro or buy 2018 iPad Pro?

    I just purchased an iPad Pro 64GB 11 inch model for $623 with tax included. I had traded my old iPad Air 1 for $65 and the iPad was on sale for $674, with a $50 student discount applied to it. I feel as though I got a good deal however my friend mentioned the Apple Expo is next month and they will probably roll out newer iPads in October. Now I'm regretting my purchase because I feel as though I should have been more patient. The only issue was I didn't want my iPad Air to degrade further in value if a new model came out nor miss the $50 student discount. Wasn't planning on spending $700+ for the iPad itself so I think I got a good deal? Can someone give me any advice, maybe I should return it and wait for the newer model to roll out as an investment for my future? I need an iPad this year for my Master's program and then medical school which I'd be starting two years from now iA. Waiting to get the latest model is ideal, however I just don't know what the price ranges will be; I know holiday sales would provide better deals but $623 all inclusive for this iPad Pro seemed like a good deal. Any advice or opinions will help me greatly in regards on what I should do with my purchase. Thanks.

    Hey guys,

    I'm about to buy next month the ipad pro 11, which i have already case and screen protector that i ordered before.
    Now i'm thinking if to buy it because the bending issue, i'll use it as a student, it will be in my backpack with other stuff..
    Yeah it will be with hard case and screen protector and i'll keep him safe as much as i can, but it's still make me worry about the bending.
    The ipad pro 11 cost in my country with the pencil around $1000.
    I saw also the ipad air 10.5 (cost with pencil $650) which works great, just one upset thing that it have the pencil 1 which has few cons..

    What would you do? should i worry about it with i have hard case?

    Bulk Set Up

    I have 30 iPads to set up tomorrow for my small business. What is the best way to do this and quickest?

    Shall I create just one iCloud account or a number of them? They will be audited each month to make sure nothing suspicious is going on and my team aren't downloading apps they shouldn't be!

    Have one iCloud would this also sync the photos too? Because some may get confused and delete them?

    Will iPad pro support a USB to C file transfer with Sony recorder?

    I tried this on my iPad Air. I connected a Sony digital voice recorder using the lightning to USB camera connection. Got an error message telling me there wasn't enough power to support the device. Ok. The Sony allows use of SD card so I used the SD card reader for iPad to see what would happen. The card reader was evidently intended for photos, and I had no way of accessing the files on the SD card. So thwarted again.

    Why? If I can connect by Sony voice recorder to the iPad and get it to recognize the mp3 files, I can then upload the files to a voice transcription service, which I need for work. Why not use iPad recording function? As good as the microphones are on the iPad, they aren't good enough. (I have an external Shure MV88 mic and that makes a big difference, but it's difficult using the iPad as a handheld recording device for stand-up interviews.)

    The iPad Air has been good enough for my needs. But I'm wondering if I really need the Pro. My question concerns the iPad Pro and its C-port. Does that make a difference at all? If I use a USB to C connector will it recognize/support the Sony recorder? And will this platform recognize mp3 files from an external device? Or is that something that is coming with the iOS upgrade later this year ...

    Part of the goal here is to use the iPad as a laptop replacement. Easier to travel with and I use the pen for handwriting.

    $250 6th Gen feels like a good deal. Will September's event drop the price more, or discontinue the unit?

    I'm looking for a school-use device for the kid (junior high/high school. Google docs etc.)

    The iPad 6th Gen 32GB Wifi is holding steady at $250 on Amazon.

    Should I buy now or wait for the September announcements? I'm worried that if I wait, Apple will make Amazon stop selling the 6th gen and I'll end up paying a lot more.

    Is this something I should really worry about?

    WD Passport Ultra compatibility with iPad Pro (2018)

    So I recently bought a new external hard drive from WesternDigital that is USB-C compatible. Thus, I should be able to plug it into my iPad Pro 11 inch using the USB-C connector, right? After plugging it in the Power-LED lights up and the hard drive seems to be running but it won't pop-up in my Files-App. Is there any software missing that could prevent the hard drive from working or is there any workaround available? I appreciate your help, guys.

    Best app to record notes on new IPad Pro?

    Hi guys. Im not sure if this is the best sub for this or not but here goes.. I'm starting university soon and I'll be taking my new 10.5 iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and Logitech Slim Folio Pro case. I'm going to be using my Apple Pencil to take notes in class but I thought it might be worthwhile to consider recording audio of my prof in class. I have purchased goodnotes 4 and 5 however as far as I know they do not have this capability. Reading online I see than many people are using notability, but after buying goodnotes I'm reluctant to buy another note taking app just for audio recording. Is there a good free app for this? Has anyone used voice memos?

    Any help/advice you could give I would very much appreciate!

    Sharing an iPad - advice please

    Hi,

    I have an iPad Pro 1st gen that I want to share with / give to my wife for the next few months (she has an exam she is working towards). I want to make it 'hers' so it has her bookmarks, her email, her notifications etc. There are some apps that I have purchased, and ideally I'd like all the apps (free and paid) to stay the same (I will still use the iPad occasionally for games and watching TV so it seems daft to delete everything and start again).

    Obviously I could do a factory reset and set it up with her Apple ID. We'd then need to search for and re-download any apps she wanted to keep (using family sharing so cost isn't an issue). But is there an easier way?

    P.S. We want user accounts on iPad please, Apple!

    I've already tried hooking it up in recovery mode in iTunes and installing new iOS but constantly get error 4013, photos are not backed up on iCloud either and my dad says his photos are irreplaceable to him.

    Anybody else running the iPadOS beta have an issue with the mouse pointer getting laggy?

    I haven't been able to find a pattern or cause of the issue. It seems like if I don't touch the mouse for a while, or the iPad locks, when I bring it back up, half the time the mouse cursor is very stuttery and like it's not using the full refresh rate of the screen. I usually have to disable assistive touch and turn off the mouse for a few minutes before it will go back to normal. Does anyone else have this issue? Is this something Apple is aware of? This is my first time using a beta for an Apple product.

    Does Ipad OS 13 have dpi or custom resolutions

    Enjoy my ipads but one thing I've hated is the inability to change resolution and dpi is set so everything is huge.

    Can we finally change that in this update and what's the best mouse to use?
