Do any of you deal with "iPad stigma" in public?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 12:54 PM PDT

I feel like whenever I show up to a meeting, a get-together, or what have you with an iPad (or the Pro more recently) people seem to have a response like "Wow, you sure do waste your money huh?" Like I love the device, and it's significantly better to use than my phone or laptop, but the stigma I've encountered from coworkers and friends make me want to stop using it, oddly enough. At least in public.

Is Micro Center a trusted place to buy iPads?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 12:09 PM PDT

Hey guys. I'm interested in buying an iPad Pro from a Micro Center near me but I have a few concerns.

What does it mean by Authorized Reseller on their website?

However, I've heard that these stores sometimes sell refurbished items marked as "new" without telling the customers. Does anyone have any experience with shopping at Micro Center?

    Thanks for your help!

iPad Pro 11 isn’t completely flat when laid flat on its back

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 02:49 PM PDT

Does this indicate that I have a bend on my product? Public consensus seems to state that it's completely flat when laid down on its camera side. Curious to what others are dealing with

Is keeping a thick screen protector on an iPad Pro worth it?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 01:38 PM PDT

Hi, I bought a used iPad Pro 9.7" with a Pencil, and it came with a tempered glass screen protector. So far I like it, but I'm wondering if I'm missing out on having a better Apple Pencil experience with the protector on. It's comparatively thicker than other screen protectors I've used. But I don't want to take it off just to see if there's a difference because then I'd have to buy a new one if I still wanted it.

Good case to support an iPad Pro 11 is Portrait as well as Landscape?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 11:33 AM PDT

Virtually all the cases out there seem designed to make the iPad Pro into a laptop. That's fine and all, until you get apps that insist on being in Portrait mode. Then you have to fold it back and hold the extra thickness while you work with that app. I would think someone might have created a case/folio with "scissor" hinges that could support it in both orientations. I can't seem to find such a beast. Is there one?

    iPad replacement with battery service?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 07:16 AM PDT

I would know some informations about battery service on iPad out-of-warranty at 99$ (€ in Europe). I read that Apple can't replace only battery, so they replace the entire device, is it true? Do they do on all iPad models (Pro, mini, Air)?
If this is true, for you, Apple does it also in Italy? I ask because me, with iPad Pro (2015), and my sister, with iPad mini (2012), have problems with battery.

My sister has got an old iPad mini (1st gen), they replace with another one or with a newer model like iPad mini 2, 3 or 4? I ask about iPad mini in order to know whether to repair the battery or to buy a newer model.

    Thanks

(Sorry for my English, but I'm Italian)

Why doesn't iPad Air 2019 have usb-c connector and Apple pen 2nd gen support?

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 04:23 AM PDT

Generally I don't like Apple products because they're overpriced and Apple has a really shitty attitude towards device repairing. But I have to admit that when it comes to tablets, there's nothing on the market that comes close to iPads. So when the iPad Air 2019 was announced I was really looking forward to buying this device. It was a quality product at a reasonable price but then I found out that it would have micro usb lightning connector instead of usb-c and Apple pen 1st gen instead of the 2nd gen, because presumably those are "iPad Pro features".

So I am genuinely curious how much more would it have cost per device to offer these "features" to iPad Air 2019?
