[Upcoming] Apprise - iOS notifications on macOS, Linux & Windows

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 09:38 PM PDT

Apprise lets you receive notifications from your iOS device on macOS, Linux & Windows.

As someone who much prefers to look at a computer screen rather than a small phone screen that's usually face down, I have an issue with checking my phone each time it rattles on my desk. I wanted to see notifications from my iOS apps on my computer and be able to pick up the device if it's important enough. Half lazy & half practical - I know.

Currently the closed source build only works when the two devices (macOS & iOS) are paired via bluetooth but I would love to implement a LAN & USB-based approach in the future as well. At the moment functionality is restricted to sending any notification from your phone to your macOS-based computer. I'm trying to get the basic stuff going before porting to other systems. I really want to hear if this is something people would like to see and what you'd want out of it.

    Let me know, cheers :)

    EDIT - Future feature list:

    • Sending notifications over USB and LAN (not just BT)
    • Selectively choosing apps to send and receive notifications from (per receiving device or in general from iOS)
    • Notification icons set to the notification's app icon (unsure if this would work)
    • Customizable notification messages (changing if it says what device it's from, formatting etc.)
    • Quick actions (e.g. replying in Messenger/iMessage, muting Messenger)

[Release][Free] No One is Typing... - Disable those annoying Snapchat typing notifications

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 03:44 PM PDT

I absolutely hate those Snapchat push notifications that tell you someone is typing. I don't care! So I made a tweak to block them. Enjoy! Available on BigBoss Repo http://moreinfo.thebigboss.org/moreinfo/depiction.php?file=nooneistypingscDp

Edit - IMPORTANT NOTE!!!! This cannot and will not get you banned from Snapchat. This does not hook into Snapchat in any way. it accomplishes this by hooking the notification publisher on the phone and blocking push notifications from showing up if it comes from snap chat and ends in the text "is typing..."

[Release] DarkChrome - A complete dark mode tweak for Chrome [Free]

After looking around for a dark tweak for Chrome and not finding one that worked consistently, I decided to make one myself. I tried to keep it as close as I could to how I imagine an official version would look, but it's a work in progress. You can install it for free from my repo (you can add it manually or from the link below).

Let me know if you have suggestions/comments/issues.

[Request] Tweak to remove Siri saying “running your shortcut” and “your shortcut says.”

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 05:04 PM PDT

From what I can find, there's no way to remove these phrases within iOS. Siri saying these phrases, especially "your shortcut says" ruins the effect of certain shortcuts. It would be great if we could remove them.

[Tutorial] Actually batch-install tweaks, the right way

    Posted: 06 Apr 2019 11:32 AM PDT

Some of you may have seen this post - without question, doing all of that was wayyyy too much work. So now, I've made a tweak that automates the whole entire process. This is the right way to batch-install all of your tweaks, tweak preferences, and hosts file. Definitely compatible with iOS 12, and should be compatible on iOS 11 and older too!

    Creation directions:

    1. Backup your repos using [[Flame]]
    2. Install BatchInstallCreator from https://captinc37.github.io/repo/
    3. In Filza, go to /var/mobile and run the BatchInstallCreator.sh script
    4. Refresh Filza by swiping down
    5. Done - a .DEB should now be there

When you install this .DEB in the future, all of your tweaks, tweak preferences, and hosts file will also be installed! I recommend uploading the .DEB to Google Drive or copying it to your computer for safe-keeping. If you want to create the batch-install .DEB again, simply make sure there is no .DEB at /var/mobile, and then re-run the script

Installing your .DEB in the future:

    1. Add your repos using Flame if they aren't already there
    2. Install your custom .DEB in Filza
    3. Copy your tweak preferences from /var/mobile/YourBatchInstallSetup/TweakPreferences to /var/mobile/Library/Preferences, and the hosts file from /var/mobile/YourBatchInstallSetup to /etc
    4. Reinstall your .DEB in Cydia
    5. Done

    Important notes:

    • A version of my tweak that does not backup the hosts file is also available on my repo ("BatchInstallCreator - no hosts")
    • If you remove one of your tweaks and Cydia wants to remove your .DEB, that's ok - removing the .DEB will not remove any tweaks, nor delete tweak preferences/the hosts file
    • You will probably see some error messages when you run the script. This is because some people have files that others don't. As long as you see "Successfully completed creation" at the end, you're good to go

    Other info:

    • All of your currently-installed, non-system, and non-dependency tweaks are included
    • Dependencies of your tweaks will be installed when you reinstall the DEB in Cydia
    • My tweak does not save itself in the .DEB
    • It works by listing the package identifiers of all your installed tweaks, filtering out system tweaks and dependencies, and then marking the remains as dependencies in a new .deb file
    • It then copies your tweak preferences and hosts file into the .DEB
    • If you would like me to make a version that does not include preferences/hosts, just ask!
    • .DEBs created with my script do not contain any copyrighted data - it's just marking tweaks as dependencies, adding .plist preference files, and adding the hosts file. Your tweaks will be downloaded straight from their official servers
    • If you would like to add your own files to the .DEB, go to /var/mobile/Library/batchinstaller/com.batchinstall.yourbatchinstallsetup and do what you like. Rebuild the .DEB after applying your changes by running dpkg-deb -b /var/mobile/Library/batchinstaller/com.batchinstall.yourbatchinstallsetup /var/mobile

Sharing your setup via uploading to my repo:

I'm ok with users uploading their created .DEB to my repo so they can share their setup with users. Just leave a comment in response to me (or send a PM) so reddit sends me a notification. Include a download link to your .DEB. Please note - .DEBs uploaded to my repo will be accessible to anyone, so please do not include personal data. Again, my repo is https://captinc37.github.io/repo/

If you have any questions, problems, or requests, just ask! I'll see what I can do.

    Have a nice day everyone!

[Request] Instead of showing the large blue hotspot bar, just show the icon that the iPad status bar uses. iPadStatusBar does this, but changes the whole thing and moves around the time and cellular icons.
