Do you think the Xs/XS Max will be discontinued after the next iPhone is released just like how the X was?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 07:13 AM PST

Thinking of upgrading from a 7 plus to an XS Max. It looks amazing, but not $1100 amazing. I'm really hoping they don't discontinue it and instead just price drop it.

Devoted Android user wanting to make the switch to Iphone but worried about how prone Iphones are to cracks and damage...

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 07:59 AM PST

I have a Galaxy 8 active, very sturday phone, I've dropped it, dropped water on it, dropped it in a pool, took picures underwater ect. I work construction so I gets abused. I'm gonna be purchasing an Iphone X or XR this weekend. I've read all the reviews and I'm leaning more towards the X but if you think the XR is a better phone I'd like to hear why. Also, what phone case and screen protector are best for these phones that are known for cracked screens and back glass?...I keep reading that fixing a cracked back glass is over 500?

You can operate the iPhone with a sandwich

I just accidentally found out that my sandwich will still operate the screen on my phone. Do with that information what you will.

There is something special about iphones

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 01:06 AM PST

I had a s8 before getting my iphone x in late 2017 , before i swapped my s8 , it was so laggy because idk the software on it ages very poorly , only solution was getting formatted for it to run good again, i got my iphone x and to this day it feels just like when i got it , smooth like butter, theres something about iphones man , that something makes a huge difference , okay android might have slightly better hardware and useless customization but i would trade all those for a solid future proofed iphone any day

    iPhone X worth it?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 06:56 AM PST

    Hey guys,

2 months from now, I can finally get a new smartphone. Currently have Galaxy S8. Been thinking to switch to Apple for 3 years now. After reading a lot of shit, do you think it is still worth it to go for the iPhone X?

    Thanks!

What are the differences between the iPhones from generations after 6?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 07:15 AM PST

I'm getting a new one soon and I have an iPhone 5S now. I don't want the new one to big too big or flashy, and that's my only concern. What are the differences between the generations, and which would have the most utility while not being too large?

Edit: my moms work pays for our cellphone bill so according to her price is no concern.

    Auto brightness

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 01:50 AM PST

Hi,I am an android user just switched to an iPhone 7 plus, want to ask regarding the auto brightness,I turned it on in general >accessibility>display accommodations(lots of clicks btw),But once in a while,I would pull up the control center and manually change the brightness from there. And the thing is,it would stay at that brightness,if i want to change it back to auto brightness,I would have to go through all the steps again and toggle the button on and off just to get auto brightness back. So the question is,is this normal behavior?and if so,is there shortcut like a toggle I can put in the control center?like in Android, there's a toggle right next to the brightness slider to toggle auto brightness.

    Thanks in advance.

    Live Fotos > on Windows/Mac

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 06:54 AM PST

    Hi,

just recently I realized that Live Photos taken with an iPhone appear as (really short) video files on my windows computer. And there is no "normal" jpg file. Really annoying, but I thought this is due to the usual "apple doesn't care for windows system integration".

Because I was curious i tested this with a Mac and was shocked to see that it's the same deal with the photos app. Is this really the way Apple wants us to look at our Live Photo's with our computers?

How are we to deal with this? How are you coping?

Lifelong Android user, should I get an Iphone XS Max?

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 08:50 AM PST

    Hi everyone!

I currently have a Samsung S8 and I thoroughly enjoy the phone however it has been slowing down on me. I have solely used Android devices but have been recently wanting to jump ship and perhaps try an Apple phone. I also am going on a trip soon and would love to test out the iPhone amera + Portrait Mode. However I am not exactly sure if I would like switch from Android to Apple.

I understand many people ask this question but I have a few specifics that I am not sure of: I download LOTS of songs (mp3s) from my internet browser in my Samsung and they go directly into my Google Play Music, where they save in my playlist and I can listen to them. When I switch to iPhone, how will I be able to download music from Safari and be able to listen to these songs? Also, when I switch, how do I get my songs from Google Play Music to the iPhone?

Otherwise, I do not play much with customization of my Samsung. I do enjoy being able to download files from my internet browser but otherwise I don't do any advanced customizing of my devices. Should I just wait for the Samsung S10 or get an iPhone XS? I love the design of the iPhone and want a phone that wont slow down as much. Also the ability to facetime and imessage.

    Thank you All!

Viewing photos on default app vs 3rd party

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 06:30 AM PST

I just found out that the default photos app shows pictures in HDR where necessary. I tried seeing the same photo on VSCO and Google Photos, it looked very dull. It was a sunset at a beach photo with the water shimmering.

I wanted to edit it on VSCO but it sucks that the app can't even display the picture properly. Is this a limitation by Apple?

Phone says it has full storage but I have 32 GB left

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 07:44 AM PST

It won't let me update or download new apps, or even update my phone. My iCloud storage is full though, and I'm thinking that might be the problem, but if it is, why can't I update my phone? Help:(

Proximity charger/wireless charger and thickness of casing.

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 01:39 AM PST

Hi anyone here using wireless charger or proximity charger?

I used to own a translucent casing with thin material.

Today I am using a thicker leather cover. Both when place on the charger show they are charging. However I swear the one which is translucent and thinner casing charges much much faster.

Why is that so? I thought it's binary thing either it's charges or don't.

Can experts shed some lights on this

Weird issue with Group Messaging and not receiving texts

    Posted: 19 Feb 2019 10:22 AM PST

I have a group message between myself and four buddies, two of which have an iPhone and two of which use an Android phone. About a month ago, I got an XR to replace my 6s. When I got the new XR, I set up the phone up as a new device rather than restoring from iCloud. Ever since I've gotten the XR, I've run into issues intermittently where I'll start receiving multiple texts (sometimes 10 or 12 at the same time) from the group chat at once, which by reading them I can tell had been sent earlier. Now, this whole past weekend, I won't get any of them at all unless I shut my phone down completely and then once I reboot, I get all the texts instantly that I hadn't received prior. I've confirmed that I have MMS message enabled, group messaging enabled, and I reset my network settings as well which I found online could be a solution but that hasn't worked either. I never had this issue with my old phone. Is there some glaring setting I'm missing somewhere that I can fix this?

    Thanks a lot in advance!
