Are we ever going to get hands free phone answering? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 06:44 AM PST Years ago, when I had a Samsung, there was an option to wave over the screen when there was an incoming call. You could answer it when you're doing things around the house (cooking, washing hands, etc). I feel like there has to be something that can be done with iPhones to do this. [link] [comments]
Is there anywhere I can still find an Apple leather case for the SE/5S, preferably in black? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 06:55 AM PST I have a 64GB SE as a backup phone, and I plan to take it for another spin as I test out Verizon in my area versus T-Mobile, and I've grown fonder of leather cases as of late (which pisses me off even more that an official Apple one doesn't exist for the XR). I currently don't have a case for it. As much as I liked Spigen cases in the past, they stain the aluminum. Seeing as how this phone is now, what, three years old, finding cases for it has become increasingly difficult, and the Apple leather cases seem to have all but disappeared online. Looks like I can get the midnight blue or the red from B&H, but it'll take awhile to ship (red says end of January) and I need something sooner than that. I would really like to find the black one if possible, I've tried everywhere I could possibly think of and no luck. Even eBay seems to not have it (and if they did it would likely be a knockoff). Upgrading iPhone 6 to iPhone XR in store, what do I need? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 07:51 AM PST I have an iPhone 6 that is about to die out and I want to upgrade. My mom is the primary account holder with AT&T and I don't think I'm an authorized user. I'm on my family phone plan, but recently moved out. When buying iPhones in the past, my mom would come along with me and we would do it together. Now that I'm solo, I want to buy the phone but am not sure what I may need from an AT&T side, if anything at all. Any thoughts? I did chat with Apple Support and the person didn't think it'd be an issue as I would just be swapping the SIM card into a new phone. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jan 2019 05:18 AM PST Hey all! Sorry for cross posting from Xs Max community. Should I open Instagram, then search by tag for some large communities (for instance, #frenchbulldog :)) and scroll through, in about 15-20 secs of scrolling I start getting: a) unbearable lags and stuttering, and b) uncomfortable heating of the place under back camera placement (logic board). If you have couple minutes, could you be so kind to test this sorta tag search and report here about scrolling through results, please? I'm afraid that it's not a software, but hardware bug with my phone. It works ok on my wife's Xr. Thank you! [link] [comments]

iPhone 8 won't charge on new iMac? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 06:17 AM PST I feel like this answer should be obvious and it's driving me nuts that I can't figure it out. I just got a brand new iMac desktop at work. My old iMac is still sitting here on my desk too for the next week or so. I have a USB charging hub connected to my new iMac. I know the hub works because I have my headphones charging on it right now. I have tried 3 different lightning cables and and all the different ports, and my phone won't charge at all. It's not a phone issue. My phone charges fine everywhere else, and I can plug it into my old computer and it charges. It's not the cords. They're both brand new from the iMac. Is there something I need to download on the iMac to have it recognize my phone? [link] [comments]
Do The XR & XS Models Still Have Notably Slow WiFi and LTE? Posted: 07 Jan 2019 05:30 PM PST Research indicates that this was a major problem (slow WiFi compared to older model iPhones, also LTE) near release but I haven't found conclusive evidence that it is truly fixed. Any insight would be super appreciated, thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Help!! dropped iphone 6 in toilet Posted: 08 Jan 2019 09:53 AM PST So yeah... forgot my phone was in my back pocket and dropped it in the toilet. I immediately turned off my phone and checked the sim slot for water damage, but i am not sure. What should i do now? [link] [comments]
iPhone 6 ghosting issue when cell signal is poor Posted: 08 Jan 2019 06:05 AM PST I noticed whenever I traveled, specifically to areas that have poor cell signal, my iphone 6 gets possessed. For example, when I unlock my phone to use it the phone randomly starts opening apps and pushing buttons without me even touching the screen. This has only happened when the phone is in an area with poor signal (mountainous areas like Smokey Mountains or Hocking Hills, OH - even inside Lowes stores where the phone struggles to get 3G). This has NEVER happened when I am connected to 4G LTE or wifi. I have tried googling this but have only been able to find people with ghosting issues due to a bent phone. I have tried restarting my phone, factory resetting it, removed the case, cleaned all the ports/screen, updated the OS - all with no success. Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix? Very irritating when I have poor cell signal when traveling for work. [link] [comments]
Email, calendar, task apps that work best across iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 09:45 AM PST I got an Apple Watch over the holidays and want to make 2019 the year I get more organized. I've looked at suggestions for the best email and calendar apps and have tried out several, but wanted to know if anyone had any different suggestions or tips about apps that work best across devices (iPad Pro, iPhone, Watch). Posted: 08 Jan 2019 09:28 AM PST Looking for a daily planner that is very minimalist. I don't want a lot of functionality or customization. Just a very simple day, month, week viewing option and very simple adding and deleting of events. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jan 2019 09:27 AM PST I bought a ticket for a concert recently and got the tickets via Mail. I thought now that I would print out the ticket because it is about a month left to the concert and I really wantwd a LOT of time on my hands to do this in case something like this happened. I cannot seem to find anything and Google did not help at all. Could you please help me? I'm panicking a little atm lmao. This is the weirdest thing I ever saw happen to a phone of mine Posted: 08 Jan 2019 09:12 AM PST I'm gonna try my best to explain the situation. Phones and laptops and devices connect to wifi right? Okay. So my whole house has devices that connect to wifi. Cool. Now I get an iphone 6 from my aunty. Youpi. Now this phone is so weird. It only connects to the wifi if I'm 5 cm away from it. Like It's not normal. Every device in my house from my sisters, mothers iphone to my brothers ps4 works normally even a few meters away but this phone wont unless im standing right next to it! Pretty weird right? Solutions and explanations would be appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments]
USB-C Chargers — Apple or Anker? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 01:38 AM PST Original lighting cable for my iPhone 7 Plus died last night (I believe cat had something to do with it) and having a USB-C to Lighting cable already (using it to charge my phone on the go with my mbp) I figured I better get a USB-C power adapter rather than new cable. I see Apple sells USB-C 18W adapter (£29.00) https://store.apple.com/uk/xc/product/MU7W2B/A but i wonder if it's worth paying extra considering that there are options such as Anker (£18.99) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07GNDRDTQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_24gnCb60TFNXF Or even that one for £25.99 which I guess I could also use to charge my Kindle https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07D36RZFT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_t9gnCbYT5DSFK What you guys recommend? Why is does my volume go up and down? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 09:00 AM PST I've have the IPhone XS Max since the day of release and I didn't have an issue with it until recently, 2 weeks ago my volume would just spike out of nowhere either up or down. I assumed it would go away after some time but it's still doing it can anyone help? [link] [comments]
Question on XS max before switching from Note 9 Posted: 08 Jan 2019 05:13 AM PST Hi everyone, I may get the opportunity to trade my Note 9 for an XS max 256 Go (with cash added on my side...). I bought a Note 9 in september (coming from an iPhone X) as I wanted a bigger phone but found the price of the XS max too steep. Although the Note 9 is not a bad device, quite the contrary, I had a few issues/dissapointments with it, namely : (i) camera : I did not like the photos in portrait mode compared to the ones I did with the iphone X and Samsung's version of Live Photos suck; (ii) gestures suck on Android and it does not seem that Android Pie really addresses that; (iii) I found the auto-rotate feature a bit buggy, and at least, much less smooth than on an iPhone; (iv) the sleep as associated with the Galaxy Watch is a pain to use and not very good compared to Autosleep. However, before doing what is not a great financial operation for me (the Note 9 has lost more value than the XS max), I would like to be certain of a few things :
thanks ! [link] [comments] |
