| Posted: 02 Dec 2018 04:27 PM PST Purchased the movie on bluray/digital copy and loaded it onto my Apple ID about two years ago, kids have watched it on and off since then (it's the damn Minions movie) and suddenly yesterday we notice it's missing. I started an Apple chat and was given a phone number after about 15 minutes, 30 minutes into the phone call I was transferred and after another 20 minutes of wasting my time I was told the movie has been "modified" by the studio and that's why it wasn't listed in my purchases anymore. Apparently if I had the original digital code she 'may' have been able to help but good luck keeping those when kids are involved. Just feel pissed off and blown off by these guys, I could care less about the Minions but knowing the 30 or so movies I have in iTunes are basically worthless pisses me off. I've checked Apple TV, iPhone, and my PC it's not listed in any of them, also I only have one Apple ID and have not changed my country location/setting at any time. I have never installed windows while I was on high Sierra, but now recently, I need to install due my work. I downloaded the windows 10 ISO from Microsoft and it seems like sometimes it fail on downloading boot camp drivers. Those times when it seem to pass the windows bootcamp drivers downloading and it starts to partitioning my disk, I get an error after half way of partitioning saying "Cannot partition disk please disk aid disk" or something. How can I fix this? I tried the same ISO on a 2016 model 15" and it worked fine. I have not activated file vault, my ssd is APFS. Could iCloud Drive sync downloading back my stuff be a problem? I installed Mojave and after an hour I tried to install windows. I have also never had windows in High Sierra. Please can someone help? [link] [comments]  |

I am looking to upgrade from a 6s Plus to a Xr or Xs but I honestly don't know which to get even after watching so many reviews. I don't mind a big phone, I don't care about HDR. I need a phone that takes good pictures, long battery life, media playback looks on par or better than my 6s, wifi and cellular reception must be very good. With those requirements in mind, which would you recommend? Also, as a side question. What are some big differences I'm going to notice when switching from my 6s Plus? | Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:56 PM PST My phone has been blocking in-app ads just fine since I got it, but a few days ago, I noticed the in-app ads are back. I can't think of any changes that I made that would do this, although I could be wrong. When I checked if the content blockers were active in Safari, they were. I currently have AdGuard (free version), AdBlock, and Private Internet Access installed. Using an iPhone Xs Max with the most recent ios update. Thanks for the help! [link] [comments]  |

I'm interested in the models with less storage because I'm aware there are NVMe M.2 adapters. Is this is even a viable option, I'm reading that people who have tried with Samsung Ssd's noticed worse battery life, so I'm wondering what other NVMe Ssd's are good, without eating up the battery life, if any. | Cant find the option to turn of "two factor authentication" Posted: 02 Dec 2018 08:59 PM PST I've been on appleid.apple.com and have signed into my account and gone to the security tab but there is literally no option under two factor authentication to turn it off, just a link to tell me more about the feature. This is honestly killing me because I cant find anything online that explains this issue and apple support is done for the day. If anyone can please help it would be much appreciated. I get that security is a very important thing Apple prides itself in but I'm really disappointing this is causing more of an issue that it should be, it's my account, let me control it. | Posted: 02 Dec 2018 06:52 AM PST Hi. After an update on my 2011 iMac, it's stuck on the log in screen. My Mac doesn't receive updates anymore, so i think it was just a security update or something, but it did require the OS to restart. I can't get any of the command buttons to really work except cmd-s. Any suggestions on getting something to fix this? I think it's still trying to finish the update because it does the progress bar every time i log in or turn the computer on. Sometimes after log in, i get a blank screen or it loops back to the log in. | Any solutions for remapping USB keyboard with broken cursor up (▲) key Posted: 02 Dec 2018 08:37 PM PST The cursor 'up' key on my old 102-key aluminum Apple USB keyboard has stopped working. I took off the cap and did my best to clean it out with contact cleaner, compressed air etc., to no avail. (Kid spilt some milk on it years ago, but it's been fine until recently - don't know if that's related.) Anyone know if there's way to re-map another special key to serve the function of the cursor 'up' key? e.g., Option+'down' or the 'End' key which I've never needed and is directly above 'up'. Would like to restore it from a backup of my current iPhone 6s, however, I've never had iCloud enabled and I'm having difficulty trying to create a back up. It will not let me turn the iCloud back up on. The button to toggle on and off is almost grayed out and does not have the ability to be turned on. Not sure how to remedy. Any suggestions ? I found on some sites about using a USB to VGA output, but all the ones I found on Amazon said they do not work with Macs. Unfortunately, buying new monitors with Thunderbolt inputs isn't in the budget right now, so using a Thunderbolt daisy chain is out of the question at the moment. I know I can sync using iCloud but anything above 5GB of messages would either be trashed or you're required to buy a subscription. | iPhone screen “pulsing” when watching full screen video Posted: 02 Dec 2018 07:33 PM PST I noticed this with my old 6s but my new iPhone 8 is also doing this. Whenever I'm watching Netflix or any video full screen, I notice the backlight pulses between natural black and a bluish-black. It pulses about every 3-4 seconds and is very noticeable in dimly lit scenes. It does this whether connected to power or not. It does this with auto-brightness turned off and turned on. It's incredibly annoying. Does anyone know what it is or how to fix it?? [link] [comments]  |

However when Ive checked them on find my iPhone they show as turned off with even their last location unavailable. What does this mean? Have they not been turned on in the past 2 months at all? | 2012 Macbook Air Black Screen Loop Posted: 02 Dec 2018 02:35 PM PST I've recently picked up a 2012 Macbook Air (A1466) from a friend to try and recover. When powering on, it sticks on a black screen. The internal fans increase in speed, staying on max speed until powered off. The keyboard backlight and caps lock light don't turn on. I've tried commonly suggested fixes like resetting SMC and NVRAM keypresses with no luck. I've somehow managed to boot to OSX twice. The first time, I managed to format and reinstall OSX, but on the next boot it hit the black screen. The second time, I updated the OS, but again it black screened on the next boot. These working moments were at complete random whilst repeatedly looping the SMC/NVRAM tricks, and I haven't managed to boot again despite trying over fifty times since. Is this likely a dead logic board? Am I best just selling for spares? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 02 Dec 2018 01:22 PM PST Long story short, my phone says I'm updated to IOS 12.1 (there might be another 1 there but regardless it is definitely iOS 12), but I have none of the features. I don't have the option for 3D Touch,and my FaceTime is messed up. I use FT a lot which is why this is a major problem for me. Whenever I FaceTime someone, whether I select audio or video, my phone only does audio. When I'm in a Group FaceTime (iOS 12 feature, so that's weird), my friends can see each other with video but I can't. However, when I call just one person I can do video, but it won't let me flip the camera or anything. As soon as I add someone it goes straight to audio. My phone is just really wierd and it's been like this for a while. I always take good care of my phone (crazy for a 13 year old, I know). I've never cracked it or anything and whenever I take in the shower (only done it like twice) I put it in a plastic bag and kept it far away from the water. This glitch makes it really hard for me to communicate with friends and access basic features, so any help is appreciated. I really can't stand to use it in extended display mode as it's a mess (windows keep opening in different screens) and the only way I've found to do it is by keeping the lid closed, but I'd rather keep it open to allow heat to dissipate better.
