    Why does the dictation button still make noise when both volumes are off AND do not disturb is on??

    I constantly hit the text to speech key on my text keyboard when I'm typing by accident. Even when the volumes are completely off, my phone is on silent, and do not disturb is on, it plays two sounds when starting then ending dictation. In what world do I want it do that??

    Is the 6s a two year phone?

    We're looking at getting our daughter her first phone and the 6s fits our budget. My concern is that within a year she will be complaining it is too slow and want a newer one. Given this phone is already a few models behind do you think she can get a few years out of it?

    Should I get an iPhone X or XS (Max)?

    So I'm planning on getting a new phone on Friday as my iPhone 7 hasn't been charging properly in the last month and a half and has been really frustrating me. My 2 year contract is up so I might as well get a new phone anyways. Ever since Apple announced the iPhone X last year, I had really wished I didn't get the iPhone 7 when it came out and wait a year but I didn't know that an iPhone like iPhone X would be released. I've been debating on what kind of phone I wanted. I'm not sure if I should get an X, an XS, or an XS Max. I heard that the XS is not much different than the X. Due to the fact that the X is discontinued, I would think that if one is available in my carrier, it wouldn't cost as much because it's discontinued but I don't know. However, I kind of wanted a bigger screen so I was thinking of the XS Max but I'm not sure if I actually would be comfortable with that size. What do you guys think?

    Hello,

    I have had iphone 6s, 6 plus and 5s. Now I am using android xiaomi A1 android one (stock android phone). It has 5.5 screen and big bezels.

    The this is I am tired to big phone. I got 6 plus as an extra phone. I don't even like that. It is really especially when you have bulky wallet, keyring.

    So I am tired of carrying a big phone. So I am planning to buy iphone se. The things is I watch videos and aracde games. Do photo editing and stuff. But when I had 6s and iphone 5s I was able to do that too. So I think small screen won't bother me.

    Now I want to know. How slow the iphone se is. I am using android phone A1 mention earlier it is way faster than iphone 6 plus which I own right now. The google app, instagram app as slow as hell more over they refresh when you switch between the app.

    I need frequently switch between the apps so I want to know ios 12 on iphone se is capable of handling multiple app without refreshing and will 95% battery health on iphone se can last a day with medium usage on wifi. like 2.5 hours on screen time with wifi. browsing and socializing????

    Just switched to Galaxy S9+ from an iPhone. Family still has iPhones and are struggling to adapt to RCS/SMS instead of iMessage due to poor poor picture quality and lack of ability to send non pixelated videos.

    Is there another app I can use that will allow my parents to still send messages and content to my number without them needing another app? All on the same AT&T plan with nearly unlimited data. I am happy to download anything and mod my phone anyway it needs to be compatible but their older iPhones have storage issues and they refuse to download other apps or not get an iPhone when they next upgrade.

    First journey away from apple so I'm still learning myself and have sifted through a bunch of subreddits but not found much information yet. I really love this phone but the lack of imessage/messages compatibility is making me consider switching back eventually. Is that my only option?

    Hi guys, first of all, thanks in advance if you take a part of your time in reading and replying to this, I kindly appreciate it! :)

    I really don't know what to do, at this point it doesn't seem like I can't go wrong, it seems like I can't go right haha

    Info: I'm coming from a Samsung Galaxy S8

    So, these are the "variables":

    - iPhone XR 128GB Red vs. iPhone XS 64GB Space Grey

    - Price: almost non-existent price difference for me so don't take that into much consideration (various discounts, buying for a company, blabla)

    - Size: I personally like the XR size better, it seems the perfect size between the 3 new iPhones

    - Display: a "big" difference but according to the internet, my eyes can't even see the difference in ppi above ~300 so I don't (and neither should you) care about the resolution. OLED's deeper blacks and higher contrast do sound good though but I had them both in my hands side by side and if I didn't know better, I'd say they have the exact same screen. Don't care about 3D touch. Fun fact: I kept my 8S on FHD instead of QHD for battery reasons anyway, literally <1% difference in sharpness for me.

    - Camera: coming from S8, I don't care about the extra camera, and it seems like a negligible difference. I only want to take portrait shots of ppl anyway. I also couldn't care less about the 2X optical zoom.

    - Battery: It seems the XR wins by ~30 minutes in a "real-life" test. Doesn't really make a big difference either.

    - RAM: Negligible

    - Storage: 128 vs 64, I probably won't fill the 64gb so not really too important

    - Looks: Sh*t, idk... I like the red XR so much except for those big bezels...The XS's grey steel and small bezels look awesome though, if only it was available in red :(

    - Lifetime value: I'm looking to use this phone for min. 2y, max 4y. Realistically: 2 or 3y, depending on how improved the new iPhones are.

    - After that: Looking to sell this device (it will pretty much look as good as new due to bumpers, protective glass etc.) so it'd be nice if it was worth as much as possible at that point

    I picked one up today hoping to resolve my issue with transferring/backing up 4K videos to my computer. This drive seems to work well enough but I'm running in to the same problem as always, whenever I copy a video it compresses the file. I don't know why it does this, it's a 128gb drive and I only have 64gb capacity iPhone so I should just be able to get the full uncompressed file, but apparently not. Files copy to around 50% of the size they should be. Is there a way around this? I'm really happy with the product otherwise.

    Avoiding upgrade fee?

    Strange security issue (iPhone 7, iOs 12.0.1)

    Curious if anyone has any thoughts, as I haven't been able to find anything on google or forums.

    This started happening since I updated some of my apps...maybe a couple of weeks ago if that.

    YouTube seems to now access 1) my browsing history and 2) my instagram follow history. For example, if I search a product on google, or follow someone on instagram, all of a sudden I'll get video recommendations on Youtube for that person/topic. Even if it's something I've never looked up on YouTube.

    Now, my security settings are locked down as much as they can be. I browse using safari in private mode; and I limit nearly all app access to camera, mic, and the like. According to my settings, YouTube can't access any of that. However, there is no setting to turn off access to other apps, so....is it accessing other apps on my phone? Without letting me know? If so, that seems really, really shady? Anyway to turn that off?

    iPhone 6 Plus purchased from Apple work on any network?

    My mom purchased her phone at the Apple store and activated it on Verizon. She is looking to switch to T-Mobile and when we do the IMEI compatibility check it says it is partially compatible.

    I've searched this online and have found conflicting information. Some sites say that it will work with all networks and other sites say it will be missing certain bands. I haven't found anything that directly says if you purchased it from Apple is different than from Verizon and the Apple one will work with all but Verizon will not.

    If she purchased the iPhone 6 Plus directly from Apple and activated it on Verizon, will it work on any network (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, etc) 100%?
