So much you can do with the Apple Pencil on the iPad.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2018 08:24 AM PST

iPads are simply incredible. I got my Apple Pencil in January I had never drawn before. The left is my first drawing the right is my best drawing they’re done only 7 months apart. If anyone says the iPad is just a glorified Netflix machine they’re just plain wrong.

Discount on IPP 11 256gb (AAFES)

    Posted: 16 Nov 2018 12:27 PM PST

Military site AAFEs has the 11inch 256gb in stock for $938 without tax and free delivery. Additionally you can enter the code BNCEBACK60 for an additional 60$ off bringing it down to $878.

Just bought myself the 64gb but I'm going to return it and order the 256gb one. It would be stupid of me not to get it

THE AAFES IS ONLY ACCESBILE FOR VETERANS OR ACTIVE DUTY. You can always see if you have any vets or active duty that would be willing to get it on your behalf.

PSA for those with new iPad Pros and non-Bluetooth wireless keyboards

    Posted: 16 Nov 2018 09:54 AM PST

I was having a problem at work with my keyboard stuttering and pausing at irregular intervals. It was most annoying, and I was ready to trade my Logitech wireless keyboard in for a wired model, which worked flawlessly. Then, I found a post online that mentioned a problem with USB-3.0 and 3.1 (USB-C) devices causing interference with wireless keyboards and mice. Sure enough, when I unplugged my iPad Pro (which I was charging through the computer), the keyboard problem went away. Just something to keep in mind when you connect your IPP to your computer.

Apple smart folio case (11 inch)

    Posted: 16 Nov 2018 01:25 PM PST

Just purchased this case because the other options available didn't have Apple Pencil charging support (speck, UAG, Targus). I've seen nothing but bad reviews on it on the Apple store app because of no side protection and "sharp edges". Any users actually love this case so far?

Is fast text selection/editing possible on iPad despite the obvious lack of a trackpad or mouse?

    Posted: 16 Nov 2018 01:50 PM PST

If I need to repeatedly select text and edit it or copy it and move it somewhere else, is there any way I can do this as fast as I can with a trackpad-equipped device? Or would I need to buy a trackpad and connect it to the iPad? Is that even a supported/possible thing?

Apple Pencil creating weird horizontal lines and glitching out when palm is being placed on the bottom right corner.

    Posted: 16 Nov 2018 01:37 AM PST

Hey guys. So i just got the new iPad Pro 11" primarily for note taking, and I have been loving it. However, recently I noticed that the palm rejection has been glitching I think. Whenever I lay my right palm on the bottom right corner of the screen as I am writing with the apple pencil, the writing glitches out and makes random horizontal lines/ makes small skips in my words. I was wondering if there was some kind of solution.

And yes I have read multiple posts, however disabling the zoom does not work. Thanks guys.

    Nintendo Switch Charger

    Posted: 16 Nov 2018 07:21 AM PST

The cable included with the new iPads is rather short, so I thought of using my Switch charger to do the job. Is this a good idea or is the switch charger as strange as the switches usb c port and can lead to problems?

iPad Pro 11” Tempered Glass Screen Protector

    Posted: 15 Nov 2018 07:46 PM PST

There's a huge thread on macrumors regarding this topic. Every major manufacturer on amazon is receiving 1-star reviews because the tempered glass screen protector is causing touch screen sensitivity issues. This hasn't occurred with other devices previously. Any of you tried one that works?

has anyone tried the paper-like screen protector?

    Posted: 15 Nov 2018 09:53 PM PST

I'm talking about this one here. I bought the 11 inch ipad pro and I'm gonna be using it a lot of writing notes in college, but i also wanna enjoy watching movies and Netflix, or anime at night. Will getting this screen protector ruin the display and my experience watching shows? also, which screen protector do you guys recommend, since all the screen protector on the market now are bad

Which features do you want to see improved in iOS and on the iPad.

    Posted: 15 Nov 2018 07:00 PM PST

Mine is screen time. I really like the idea of screentime but I wish I could choose which category each app belonged in.

Since I work with procreate, I'd rather not have it labeled "entertainment." I enjoy it but not in the way I enjoy Netflix. I also don't see why there is a distinction between "reading and reference" and "productivity." I wish I had the option of combining the two. Also, screentime randomly stops working. A few days ago, my iPad said I had 27 seconds worth of use which is strange because I had read an entire novel and logged my entire classes exam grades. I could only dream of doing such a thing in 27 seconds.

Also, I wish different windows of safari could be opened or that the organization could be better. Tabs are cool but I wish there was a way to further organize them. I have 7 tabs dedicated to thanksgiving recipes, 11 for project research, and a few others that range from Wikipedia to WebMD. And I am using every single tab. I wish there was a way to cluster certain tabs and histories together

There are very trite things but does anyone else want to join in hypotheticals? What do you want to see in the future?

    File management question

    Posted: 15 Nov 2018 06:50 PM PST

Just picked up a nearly new 10.5' IPP with the intention of taking all of my notes and handouts straight to digital for easier searching, referencing, storage etc etc. For those who have gone the paperless route for school how do you manage hand outs and PDF files? I've been using readdles documents and PDF expert but I've noticed that my annotations and writing disappears sometimes, managed to completely lose a completed handout yesterday... just magically gone.... I thought about loading everything into notability, with the ability to have two notes open I can have my notes and reference papers open for easy markups on both, I'm just concerned about 'exporting' them to PDF's for general storage and use later as I can't seem to find any indication that They will retain their OCR and searchability? For reference I'm not using traditional text book and instead using 'course packs' that are basically just monster packs of paper and smaller books, works out to roughly 2.5 gb fully scanned and OCR'd and 8gb for all 4 years so far. Any tips or ideas? Am I missing something with Readdle's suite of tools? Or should I just fully embrace notability?
