    Mojave Update Charging Problem

Ever since I have updated my macbook pro 15-inch 2017 to version mojave it has not been charging properly. As you can see in the photo, if I charge my macbook it is not really charging but is getting power from the power adapter. I've tried SMC.

    Macbook Pro 2018 trackpad

    Posted: 02 Nov 2018 04:11 PM PDT

So I bought a Pro 2018 in September, over the last two months I got replacements four times due to various hardware issues. One thing I've noticed in the newest one I received (and 2 of my replacement laptops) is that the trackpad fails to stay flushed with the rest of the laptop.

Usually the bottom corners of the trackpad is slightly bulged up on either sides (its barely noticeable unless you try to feel both sides with your fingers). The trackpad works perfectly fine but I just want to know if Im extremely unlucky to get 3 laptops with the same issue or if there are others who have the same issue?

I can't download or delete anything on my macbook air, OSS error -34 (not-43)

I can't download, uninstall or delete anything. Applications already downloaded function fine but my disk drive is nearly full and I can't clear out anything. Also even though there is enough space to download certain things I can't download anything. How do I fix this?

Thinking of getting new Mac air for my gf - Air

    Posted: 02 Nov 2018 07:34 AM PDT

    Hi there folks,

I kind of suck at computers hardware, but my here is the deal.

My girlfriend is a medical student and she uses Mac right now - Super old one too. From 2012 I think, Would 1.8GHz be enough for daily tasks?

I mean, I got slightly better macbook myself, 2014 pro with 2.1 or 2.3 w/e it is, and I play games on it.

I dont even know what I am asking here. Just wanted to hear other people's thoughts on that. Is that a decent laptop?

What is the cheapest retina Macbook?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2018 04:05 PM PDT

So I am using an old (2012) MacBook Air currently. To be honest it is still sufficient for me for the most part since I am mainly using it for browsing the web, mails, photos and so on. I replaced the battery a year ago or so as well for a decent battery life.

There are two things though which make me think about getting a new one:

    1) My SSD is running out of capacity and I would need to get a new compatible one.
    2) Since working on a friends retina machine, its getting harder to work without it.

The new Macbook Air is kind of interesting, but I don't really like that nothing can be replaced anymore inside, that there is no magsafe anymore and few other things. Also it is kind of ridiculous that they start of with 128gb SSD. Upgrading from there is also quite expensive.

    My question therefore is:

Which would be the cheapest MacBook to get which is portable (13") comes with a 500 gb SSD (or has an SSD which can easily be replaced for cheap) and has a retina display?

Hope someone can help me out here.

Need advice on laptop, refurbished Mac, or Chromebook.

    Posted: 02 Nov 2018 03:23 PM PDT

Okay so my history with laptops is this. I had a surface RT I realize it's not a laptop and loved it but it became outdated and unusable in one years use. I then used a 2009 MacBook pro that I upgraded the ram to 8gb and put a SSD in it it was awesome although heavy.

I need a new laptop or surface/ 2 in 1 primarily for PDFs, Google docs, and watching YouTube, YouTube TV, and Netflix.

I was thinking if I went the windows route I should get 8gb of ram and SSD.

If I go MacBook can I use an older version and be fine.

Lastly if I use a Chromebook I prefer a decent ips screen if possible.

    My budget is about $550

    Thanks

    Posted: 02 Nov 2018 09:31 AM PDT

My MacBook Pro (14,2) is not showing macOS 10.14.1 as an available update (says I'm up to date on 10.14 - 18A389). Any ideas on how to fix this?
