    Welcome to our weekly stickied App thread! This is a new idea so please feel free to offer your feedback about this thread or the subreddit in general in the comments. As usual if you have a serious issue with the subreddit please contact the moderators directly.

    This thread is intended to help members of the /r/iphone community get informed about new apps that are out there. App developers may also use this thread to make users aware that their new app exists.

    Please sort comments by 'new' to find questions/information that would otherwise be buried.

    In this thread you can ask any iOS app related question that you may have. Anyone may offer advice on any issue.

    Two examples of potential questions could be; "How do I learn to code an app?", or "How is app pricing determined?"

    Developers, please include as much information about your app as possible, including size, price, release info, and anything else people request.

    Finally, please stick to reddiquette and keep your comments on topic and substantive. Thanks for participating.

    Beware of cheaper cases off amazon claiming to be for the XS. This one doesn’t fit the camera, so it’s just a renamed X case

    Battery tip for ios 12: turn off screen time

    I saw this on another post and decided to give it a try since battery life on my XsMax hasn't been that great although not bad either. Turned off screen time and battery life has been phenomenonal ever since. Lasting a full day easily now.     Can I access and backup my old iMessages with my brother who died 3 years ago?

    I'd really like to be able to access and backup all the iMessages I have with my brother, who died 3 years ago. I think that they must be stored somewhere in the cloud because when I open up the message thread with my brother on my ipad, and I scroll up to get older messages, it periodically "runs out" of messages and has to load more. It appears that it is loading the messages from the cloud.

    Are my old messages saved somewhere in the cloud? Can I access them all? Can I back them up? FWIW, my desktop is a PC, not Mac.

    iPhone X screen repair

    Hey guys, have any of you got your screen replaced by Apple on your iPhone X? Was wondering if you noticed any scratches/damage to the stainless steel band after the service. Was also wondering if the new serviced screen comes covered in plastic wrap like the way it is when you buy the phone for the first time.

    iOS 12 quicktype emoji gone?

    I just noticed the quicktype feature is gone on my new XS. Like when I type "sushi" it would suggest the sushi emoji.

    I've never liked the + size phones because they just seeemed to big, and so when the Xs came out I upgraded day 1 and it is the perfect size for me. I love that I can still use the phone with 1 hand if I need too, and I absolutely love the battery life. Thank you apple.

    How many of you iPhone fans are also deeply immersed in Google's ecosystem?

    Just wondering, how often the Apple and Google worlds end up becoming intertwined? Do you feel you get the full use out of your iphone if you are replacing the stock apps with Google apps? Do you get the full Google benefits being on an iPhone instead of an Android? I am trying to get an idea of how people marry the two worlds together.

    Multiple iPhone Batteries

    This might sound crazy, but that is the point. I found these cables on ebay that connect directly to the mother board of your phone. The cables are for testing power issues by connecting them directly to a power source, like a usb, but I want to connect a bunch of iPhone batteries together and plug them into one phone so it lasts for weeks without a charging it. Of course I would have to modify the housing of the phone. Would this be possible If I connect them correctly?

    WiFi Drops in Locked/Sleep Mode

    Hello everyone,

    After the newest update, I have issues keeping my phone connected to my wifi when locked. The reason I need it connected at all times is because I use web whatsapp, and I cannot use it unless my phone is connected to the wifi.

    Does anyone have similar issues with this? Any workaround?

    Not Possible Solutions:

    Do not tell me to have my phone on at all times as it will drain my battery.

    Do not tell me to have my 4G on, that's not the point, I have wifi at home to use.

    Any way to stop the wifi from dropping when my phone is locked?

    Battery case recommendations?

    Realised yesterday I was due an upgrade, have an iPhone 8 coming next week. I'd like a battery case for it as I commute to university and sometimes have quite long days. I certainly can't afford the Apple one, and all the cheap ones I can find don't protect the top of the phone and are black, which I'd prefer not to have if possible. What cheaper charging cases would you guys recommend? Should probably add that I'm in the UK if that makes a difference.

    IPhone Glitch

    iPhone 7- last week my phone stopped being able to play music through anything that was plugged in, headphones/Aux cord. It has also been unable to connect phone calls or FaceTime and the phone cannot record or hear sound. Any idea if there is a fix?

    My girlfriends little sister just had the same thing happen to her phone last week as well.

    Just got an iPhone SE and can't open Sim slot.

    No tool came with it, so I used a safety pin as it's what I had, who has paperclips in 2018 really...dick move not to include like 5 cents of metal alongside the phone too. Anyways, using the pin, I push,it budges slightly, then just pushes back in. Googling around f for remedies and everyone is just saying send it back, but that's abit frustrating as it just arrived today and I kind of wanted to use it ASAP.
