Why doesn’t the App Store have a wish list? Posted: 02 Oct 2018 02:55 AM PDT One thing that's annoyed me for a while is not being able to add Apps you are interested in to a wish list so you can come back to at a later time and decide if you want to buy it or not or see if the price has dropped/increased. I swear the old version of the App Store had it before it got the user interface revamp but I looked everywhere to find it with no luck. Isn't this a pretty basic feature all online stores have these days? [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Oct 2018 08:03 AM PDT We are still in the 14 day return window and I am really debating returning this phone. I went to an Apple store on Long Island and told them about my connectivity issues and they looked at me like I was crazy. It was completely new to them. Going to an Apple Store in Manhattan today to sit down with a Genius to see what can be done. I've been doing speed tests with friends on T-mobile every day since I got this phone and I consistently lose by a wide margin. Meanwhile I specifically got this phone for band 71 support and 4x4 MIMO. Resetting network settings and restarting the phone does not help. Keep taking my SIM and putting it in my S8+ and comparing speed in real world usage tests on Youtube and videos take significantly longer to fully load on the iPhone, and WiFi is completely unusable wherever I go. 3 Days until I return iPhone XS Max Posted: 02 Oct 2018 09:36 AM PDT For those that ordered iPhone to arrive on launch day our two week return window is ending this Friday. I will be returning the phone before the window expires if Apple doesn't address the myriad of issues affecting the new phones. I moved from an iPhone 8+ to the iPhone XS Max. Since upgrading my cell signal has completely disappeared in my home. The new modem might work great for users living in metro areas, and I am happy for those users, but in rural areas on the fringe of service the signal has completely disappeared. This has been reported over and over by users in message forums but Apple PR keeps pushing out articles praising the new modem with no official announcement on upcoming fixes. The phone does not charge when plugged in and locked. This could most likely be fixed by an update but again Apple has chosen silence. Since upgrading my email folders no longer push notifications. I only receive notifications for messages being delivered to the inbox. My workflow requires me to have multiple sub folders with exchange rules sorting those messages accordingly. I have missed multiple important emails because this feature was removed. The push settings still allow certain folders to be chosen to receive push notifications. Since the setting wasn't removed I assume this is a software issue fixable by an update. Again, silence from Apple. I have been a loyal fan boy since the first iPhone. I haven't missed a single year upgrading. This is the first year that I will not be keeping the upgrade. There are three days left until the return window closes on millions of phones. Hopefully others will follow and return their phones unless Apple fixes these issues. [link] [comments]
I’ve returned my iPhone XS today Posted: 01 Oct 2018 11:26 PM PDT I have preordered iPhone XS after deciding to upgrade my current X. I was excited about the gold color as it would match my new apple watch s4. Long story short, iPhone XS's quality was downgrade to my X. The display at its brightest setting (all nannies disabled) was no longer crisp like my X. Colors looked slightly faded at bright settings and dark themed apps like Reddit looked terrible. It was no longer the amazing display I had the pleasure with X. I checked all store demos and they were all the same tinted off white. True tone just makes the screen look yellow. On a similar note my reception with XS went down slightly in all areas and lost signal at some places I used to have signal before. I have waited 9 days to make my mind up and decided it wasn't the quality I would expect from a $1100 phone. I have been upgrading my iPhone every year since iPhone 6. This is the first gen I am going to skip. This still may be an upgrade for others but X users beware. [link] [comments]

What is Wi-Fi Networking & Bluetooth under System Services and do I need it on? Posted: 02 Oct 2018 06:03 AM PDT
Posted: 02 Oct 2018 09:42 AM PDT I am happily using my new iPhone Xs but have encountered a small problem. Most of the time the "Hey Siri" function works fine, but sometimes, often when I haven't used my phone in a while, it doesn't recognise my voice command. If I then wake the phone up and activate Siri with the side button, close her/it (?) again and lock the phone, the "Hey Siri" command works again. The problem is not game breaking or anything but I was wondering if anyone else is having a this problem with "Hey Siri", or maybe know a way of fixing it. I have tried reverting the "Hey Siri" setup in settings. Ps. I don't know if it means anything for the voice commands, but I am danish speaking. [link] [comments]
Settings asking for pw for old apple id email Posted: 02 Oct 2018 09:03 AM PDT In Settings>Update Apple ID Settings, there is a section that reads, Some account services require you to sign in again. When I press Continue, I get this screen: https://imgur.com/a/yJFFKg1 The issue is, the email address that is shown is my old email which I've since changed in settings. So when I enter the password, its correct, but iOS will not accept it since the email address is wrong, but its auto populated by iOS. I do not have the option to enter the correct email. Is there a fix for this? Thanks. [link] [comments]

How to make music auto play in my car via bluetooth? Posted: 02 Oct 2018 06:12 AM PDT I have a bluetooth car adapter. I make a lot of small trips during the day, 5-10 minutes each, I'd like for a playlist to auto-play whenever my phone connects to my car's bluetooth. Anyone have any ideas how to make this happen? Everything I google is about how to NOT make music play when you connect to your car, but I seem to have the opposite problem. I was thinking maybe IFTTT could solve my problem, but so far I haven't been able to figure out a way. Any ideas are greatly appreciated, thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Universal Link issue: opening up the App Store page instead of the content in the app itself? Posted: 02 Oct 2018 02:45 AM PDT More people that are having the issue that links to external apps open up the App Store -or even the iTunes Store- with the showcase page of that app, instead of opening the content in the app itself? It's bloody freaking annoying. [link] [comments]

Big box of mixed iPhones... legitimately lost property, what can I do with them? Posted: 01 Oct 2018 11:25 PM PDT A mate of mine works for a massive festival company. So over this past festival season, approximately 40 phones got handed in to lost property and were not claimed. Mainly iPhones ranging from 4 to X. They are no use to anyone "as is" (all dead) and I do not know the policy on what can be done with these. My last experience of buying or selling an iPhone was a pain in the arse and that was with the seller standing next to me while we figured out how to change ownership, so selling is out (unless someone here can tell me otherwise) So I'm guessing they are all locked, probably SIM locked and also locked to an Apple ID. Is there any point in doing anything with these iPhones or are they just fit for the bin? Is there any way in charging them and connecting them to a network so maybe I could even return them to their owners? The thing is, they are all unclaimed and people who could have had a fair chance to claim them, so is it legit to just sell them "as is"? [link] [comments] |
