Posted: 05 Oct 2018 01:05 AM PDT Hi, has anyone come across this issue.... I have an iPad Pro running iOS12, iPhone7 also running iOS 12. Recently I tried to re download a book to the iPad, but it was always stuck at 5%. I tried other books that I had purchased, again not downloading. I then tried to access the books on my MacBook Pro (running 10.13.6 High Sierra) again, they wouldn't download. I then tried the phone. I don't read books on my phone so this was the first time I opened the app. Once I had gone through the information screen, there was a message - Update Other Devices (a reference to my Macbook Pro) "To sync changes to your library on the following devices, you'll need to update them with iOS 12, macOS 10.14, or later: " It would appear now, that I won't be able to access my purchased books on my devices because the MacBook Pro is not on 10.4. Has anyone else go this problem? I can't update my MacBook Pro to macOS 10.4, but I can't believe this would stop me accessing the books I have purchased on the iOS devices. [link] [comments]
Any way to remove DND banner from lock screen? Posted: 05 Oct 2018 06:59 AM PDT Good Morning - is there any way to remove the DND banner from the lock screen? This is really annoying. Every time I open my phone I think I have a text notification but looking closing it's the damn DND banner. Where's the setting to disable this? Thanks [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Oct 2018 07:54 AM PDT I've seen some discussion and articles about how the Camera icon and Apps icon function with iMessage in iOS 12 - I'm mostly indifferent but would maybe like to be able to put the Photos icon in place of the Apps icon since I never sent stuff from Apps until the change. Anyway, the bigger issue is the order of photos once I access the listing through the Apps > Photos sub-menu within iMessage. It's supposed to be in reverse-chronological order. Instead, the listing starts with a chunk of my oldest photos first, then shows the newest, then shows the rest. Basically, the pictures I want to send are buried somewhere in the middle of Recent Photos (same in Camera Roll after tapping All Photos). The Moments tab within All Photos is the only way to see a reverse-chronological order of photos, meaning that it now takes 6 taps to send photos, 9 if you prefer to keep the Apps bar hidden:
This is on an iPhone 6S+ that I've had for a year. Just updated this morning. Anyone else experiencing the same issue? [link] [comments]

iOS battery problems on iPhone X Posted: 05 Oct 2018 07:47 AM PDT The iOS 12 battery problems on iPhone X are driving me crazy. I know there's always a "my battery life sucks" paranoia when a new iOS is released which I would always write off. But I've basically cut my battery life in half so need to figure out what to do. I noticed the ridiculously low battery life on the final public beta of iOS 12. Thought it would get fixed with final iOS 12. Nope. After a week or so of phone at 20% at 5 pm, despite not even using the phone a lot during the day, I did a fresh restore from iTunes, restored from iCloud (instead of iTunes backup which might have old beta files), but no luck. Same issue. I have not installed any new apps since iOS 12. I would expected if others had battery life issues thus bad there would be a whole big fuss but I haven't seen much online. Any ideas ? Is there a way to specify using 802.11 ac for my iPhone 6? Posted: 05 Oct 2018 07:19 AM PDT My wireless router currently does both ac and g because I needed g to run some smart switches but I'd like to keep my phone on ac as the congestion is much lower (I live in apts). [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Oct 2018 07:14 AM PDT I want to know what happens when you first boot up iOS 12 because my mom has an iPhone SE and wants to update but the issue is that she forgot her password and can't get into her iCloud and apple support has been no help to us at all. So her phone is stuck in limbo where she can't install apps on her phone but it doesn't really matter because she has all that she needs but in the event that iOS 12 on first boot asks her to login, her phone will essentially be bricked. Does it ask for sign in? [link] [comments]
Posted: 04 Oct 2018 05:32 PM PDT The phone only announces who's calling when I set that feature to Always. I wear the lighting port headphones and it will never announce who calls. Am I missing something guys! Thanks! [link] [comments]
SimpleBackgrounds - Beautiful, flat backgrounds. Posted: 04 Oct 2018 11:16 AM PDT I've been trying to make these super intricate apps for years now but lately I've been trying to take a more subtle approach to app developing Introducing SimpleBackgrounds It is an app with 48 matte colored backgrounds that you can download now! It's a free download and just me trying to be a more relaxed developer! Enjoy! [link] [comments]

Posted: 04 Oct 2018 11:35 PM PDT I tried two cables to charge my phone last night, and neither worked. This was strange, because they'd both been working just fine before. I came to the conclusion that the new iOS has become able to identify and block aftermarket cables. Just thought I'd let you all know. [link] [comments]

Flickering Colour Tint in Photos App on OLED Devices Posted: 04 Oct 2018 09:30 PM PDT Is anyone else getting a noticeable flickering of different colour tints when opening or closing photos in the iOS photos app on iPhone X or XS/XS Max? It's most noticeable when true tone is on, brightness is about 50% and while looking at areas of whitespace. The flickering lasts 2-3 seconds and I can see the contrast in the image changing. Never noticed this on iOS 11; could it be a bug in iOS 12? I've managed to reproduce this on five out of five devices I've tested all running iOS 12. Unfortunately I don't have any devices running iOS 11 to test. It only occurs with some photos, not all, and exclusively in the photos app. The flickering colour shift is very minor but pretty noticeable and quite hard on the eyes. [link] [comments]
