| Files deleted from iCloud Desktop & Documents still haunting my iPhone 7 storage Posted: 10 Oct 2018 03:55 PM PDT I've turned both desktop & documents off on the iCloud drive on my MacBook system preferences and moved them to a location away from iCloud instead. I've also tried manually deleting them on my phone, to no avail. My iCloud storage is still saying that it's almost entirely taken up by documents and everytime I press 'delete documents & data' in my iCloud storage settings on my phone nothing happens, and my desktop & documents remain there. Besides lacking a telephoto lens for optical zoom, are there any glaring omissions from the iPhone XR that the iPhone XS has? Essentially, it'd be great if a Redditor could compile a sort of master list of what's different between the two models? Can I use this to connect to a monitor that only has VGA input? I have a VGA to USB adaptor as well. I have tried making the connection but it does not seem to be working. | Thoughts on iPad Pro graphics distortion? Posted: 10 Oct 2018 08:22 PM PDT I've had some issues with my iPad Pro 10.5 recently, where the device will show pixelation and graphics distortion, crashes out of apps extremely frequently, and will occasionally restart while sleeping. I had some issues during iOS 12 beta, had a restore error, and still have frequent app crashing on the 12 GM. I'll frequently go to wake it up and it will require my password as it seems to have resprung while sleeping. Here's an example of the graphics distortion I had, the touchscreen not responding Think the logic board is shot? Posted: 10 Oct 2018 07:45 PM PDT I just bought the 200gb plan for icloud, and turned on Photos for icloud, i have about 30Gb of photos on my iphone and I am looking at my Photos app on my mac to see if they're starting to show up, but they arent. how do i know photos are uploading? do i have to initiate the upload somehow or is it automatic and it'll eventually start and sync with my mac and ipads? | 2017 iMac, can you upgrade a 3.4Ghz model to 64Gb of RAM? Posted: 10 Oct 2018 08:35 AM PDT I'm looking at purchasing a new iMac, specifically the 2017 refresh. I noticed that on the website the 3.4Ghz model has RAM that is configurable up to 32Gb, whereas the 3.5Ghz model has RAM that is configurable up to 64Gb. Why is this? Does one model simply have 2 slots whereas the other has 4? Is the slower model constrained by something on the motherboard? I guess I don't understand why/if there are hardware limitations or if it's just how Apple has the storefront configured. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

Help Posted: 10 Oct 2018 06:34 PM PDT So I tried to download and install Mojave today and and soon as my computer restarted, I was taken to the ubuntu menu. So I tried to restart my computer and hold down the option key to get into the refind bootloader but it didn't work and I was prompted to ubuntu again. Turns out I forgot my ubuntu password. So I tried to enter safe mode and recovery mode on my Macbook, both of which didn't work. So im basically stuck and I can't log into anything. It says when I repair them that there isn't a right AirPod, as in I see the % of the case and left AirPod but not the right. I've forgotten the device and re-paired, I've charged and I've cleaned it. Permission denied with iMovie Posted: 10 Oct 2018 05:44 PM PDT Ever since I purchased my new MacBook Pro and then transferred everything from my previous MacBook Ive been having issues opening my previous iMovie Library. When I have try to target an iMovie library I get "The operation couldn't be completed. Permission denied" "iMovie Library" is already in use by "TechWizard" on "Tech Wizard's MacBook Pro". Ive went ahead and gave the iMovie library Read and Write permissions and I still can access this library. Ive looked online an apple forums at people who have had similar issues but its feels like no one has really had any solution to this issue. Hopefully someone here could lend a hand. Thank you! I recently changed a piece of my Mid-2012 Mac that wouldn't work anymore, the SATA cable. So I also changed my Internal HDD, I had the furnished Toshiba inside, and changed it for a HGST that is a bit faster (7200 rpm) and also 1To. I encountered a problem with the Installation of OSX though. It's formated in OSX Extended, GUID partition (I erased it after the failed installations too), I tried Internet recovery and USB boot, nothing works. I tried to install Mountain Lion, which was furnished with my mac, but also El Capitan, I saved a copy when it came out. (I cannot go Higher than El Capitan because of some software compatibility) Any Idea why it doesn't work ? Macbook Pro 13" Mid-2012, Intel core I5 2,5 GHz, 4go Ram. [link] [comments]  |

However, recently, my screens starts bugging where it moves up and down very rapidly out of nowhere. It's almost as if I'm double tapping on my home button but the full screens doesn't go down, only parts of it. I'm assuming it's time to replace it seeing that it's the original battery. It's been a god damn beast at 2,967 cycles. Is it normal for this to happen even though the design capacity is currently at 75%? (originally 100% obviously) I should mention that it fell off my bed (about a 1 foot drop) onto a carpeted hardwood floor yesterday so I'm wondering if that jolted anything loose inside as well. | BUG - "Do Not Disturb" settings keep changing on their own. Posted: 10 Oct 2018 12:35 PM PDT EDIT: this is on a Macbook Pro. When I go to Settings->Notifications->Do Not Disturb, the first checkbox is checked, and the times are set to "From 0:00 to 0:00". If I try to change it, it appears to change, and I can even leave and reenter the settings and it will still show my changes. BUT, if I go back to that menu after some time has elapsed, the setting gets set back to what I described in the first paragraph. My guess here is that the setting persists in the settings menu until that settings menu gets cleared from memory, but isn't being written to file for some reason. But whatever the cause, it's preventing me from getting Slack notifications, which is a huge pain as someone who telecommutes, so any advice on this would be great.
