Posted: 25 Jul 2018 09:23 PM PDT Sorry if this has been asked before. I have a non-retina MacBook Air on which I previously installed the Dev Beta 1, and the fonts seemed barely legible - they felt extremely thin and grayish. Unfortunately I don't have a retina Mac so I couldn't test it out on other devices. If anyone has a non-retina Mac with Mojave installed, how are the fonts? I'm hoping this is not just an issue on my end only. [link] [comments]

Best resolution for making custom icons? Also, why won't safari let me change its icon? Posted: 26 Jul 2018 12:21 AM PDT Bonus question, does mac os save an icon copy somewhere after you've changed it, so I can delete the original? [link] [comments]
[Question] Effective screen shot tool/app/tweak for note taking? Posted: 25 Jul 2018 05:38 PM PDT Hey all, Im a uni student and i'm starting to use OneNote on my MBAir to take notes during lectures, I'd love to know if there was someway to screen cap and quickly paste what I've screen capped straight into my notes, I know about the command+shift+4 method but that requires opening the photo and then copying pasting it, i'm trying maximise note taking effectiveness here so if anyone has any recommendations that would be swell, many thanks [link] [comments]
Which content blocker or ad-blocker are you using on Mojave? Posted: 25 Jul 2018 10:13 PM PDT It seems I'm getting ads coming through on Youtube and other streaming sites. Any suggestions? I'm on 10.14 beta. [link] [comments]
[suggestion] calculator app should decrease hit-space/button Posted: 25 Jul 2018 03:46 PM PDT I always find myself miss-clicking, or having to lift my finger constantly to press buttons on the calculator app. I didn't think this was a problem until I used an on-screen calculator app whose buttons were much smaller/round. Input of numbers was much faster with far fewer miss-clicks. [link] [comments]
Does macOS Qualify As A UNIX OS? Posted: 25 Jul 2018 08:12 AM PDT Sorry, was just asking because it's the OS I grew up with 😅. SHITPOST[link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Jul 2018 10:17 AM PDT I have a folder with 13 images in it. That is what the finder shows and that is what I see when I use the terminal. I have checked with hidden files showing and not. When I do a getinfo on the folder it claims 14 images. Bizarre. Anyone know why that would be? Running High Sierra 10.13.6 [link] [comments]
Need help with missing kext in 10.13.4 Posted: 25 Jul 2018 06:30 AM PDT Hello all, I could really use some help with a missing AMDRadeonX3000.kext file. I am running High Sierra 10.13.4 on a late-2011 MBP with a recently failed 6770M. I followed MikeyN's guide to disabling the burnt-out gpu to a tee, including the following steps:
I verified that the system was now functional and that it was running on the Intel 3000 as expected. I then rebooted in single-user mode and ran:
but was very surprised to get the following error:
When I changed to the /Extensions-off directory and did a ls on the contents, the file was inexplicably not there. Now after rebooting a couple of times and searching around on the system for the file, the entire /Extensions-off directory is gone too! I am really baffled as to why this has happened. What should I do now? This step is crucial for reducing the system temperature so I really need to resolve this before moving forward. I have no backup of this kext. I have an external hdd with a Sierra 10.12.6 install; what about copying over the AMDRadeonX3000.kext from that install? On 10.13.4, the three remaining AMD kexts which are running return a version number of 1.6.6; obviously it will be different on the Sierra 10.12.16 install, but would it matter? Sincere thanks in advance for any help. [link] [comments]
Disabling 'Quick Event' in Calendar Posted: 25 Jul 2018 10:13 AM PDT Any ideas how to disable the 'quick event' calendar suggestions? I rarely have an event that shares all the same details as previous event so I'd rather enter it manually vs. have to go through and edit a 'suggested' event. [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Jul 2018 02:55 AM PDT I've noticed playing WoW on my core I7 iMac that only ever other "cpu" is being used. It seems that Mac OS won't use both threads of a core, unless necessary. Is this just a weird occurrence or is this something that Mac OS actually does? I can't find anything else online about it. Have any of you noticed this aswell? Edit: heres a link showing what im trying to explain https://imgur.com/a/QLF8HJc [link] [comments] |
