    HEVC support on iOS 11 means HW-decoding for iPads?

    Does the support for HEVC with iOS 11 stands for HW decoding in, for example, 2017 iPads? Or only the ability to play x265 videos on Photos app? I know 2017 iPads couldn't HW decode x265 videos on any app, does that change now?

    Is an AirPlay dongle a thing?

    As someone who spends most of his weeks in different hotel rooms, I'm looking for the easiest way of mirroring my iPad to hotel TVs.

    As far as I know, the only official way of doing this would be carrying an Apple TV with me all the time. However, a quick Google search and I have found several AirPlay dongles from various Asian manufacturers.

    My question is, does any of you have any experience with one of these? Do they actually work?

    How to incline ipad in portrait view?

    Newbie question. I have bought an OEM cover for my newly acquired ipad 3 (refurbished). But the cover supports inclining the ipad in landscape view only. How do you incline the ipad in portrat view e.g. when reading an ebook?

    Looking for a web browser app that can load true desktop versions of websites

    I love Chrome and Safari, and their desktop modes are fine for almost all websites... however, I've noticed some websites don't open as a true desktop version would. Any recommendations?

    Hello! I have a a 1st gen iPad that I still keep around for some of the games that have gone to that great App Store in the sky but I'd like to make it a little more useful for the house by using it as a dashboard to show the current weather, time, news, and traffic. Are there any apps still available in the App Store that can do this? I was hoping Status Board (https://panic.com/blog/the-future-of-status-board/) would still be available but no luck there. I'd also be fine with pointing it to a web-based dashboard. I found a few that were customizable and user-friendly but incompatible with Mobile Safari.

    I'm an iOS developer by trade so I suppose if it comes down to it, I could try running an older version of Xcode to build an app, but I'd rather find something that works out of the box, so to speak.

    Want to buy my mom an iPad

    If I wanted to buy my mom an iPad, when would be a good time?

    I would get one that has 128 GB of storage, new from the apple store. Wi-fi only, we don't need the cellular data capabilities.

    Preferably, the newest and most modern version. Any recommendations? Would now be a good time? Or are they going to release a new iPad model soon? Cuz I'd hate to buy a new one now and have it be outdated once Apple releases a new line in a couple months.

    Connecting a GoPro to iPad Pro with cable?

    I'm considering buying an iPad pro for when I start University, I saw the current iPad pro came out last year, based on your guys' knowledge of Apple, can we expect a new one soon? I was seeing some articles that the WWDC(I think?) will be software focused and not new hardware, not sure if this is true. If it doesn't come then when would the next opportunity likely to be? 2019?

    Notability crash

    Questions For Smart Keyboard Users

    Hey all! For those who own the smart keyboard for the iPad pros, how has it held up and are the connectivity issues resolved? I read a good amount of reviews on the Apple website and throughout YouTube and Google that there were connectivity issues between the Smart Keyboard and the iPad pros ever since iOS 11. Has that been resolved for you guys personally? Also I saw some reviews that the keyboard has started to fall apart for people only after a few months or a year of normal use (e.g., just taking the iPad with the keyboard in and out of their briefcase daily without any drops). For those who've had the keyboard a little longer, is it still holding up well? Thanks in advance for your guys' input.
