    iOS (jailed) vs Android O on Pixel 2? Thinking to switch!

    Hey Guys,

    A bit about myself first... I am an iPhone user for over 5 years now. Joined the team back in iOS 6 days. Have Jailbroken all my devices and firmware before. The last one being 9.3.3 Pangu on my 5s. I lost my 5s and my Jailbreak with it. Now I am on iPhone 7 on 10.3.2 waiting for Meridian. Hope that it comes out soon.

    Okay, back to the discussion now...

    The fact is that it's April, iOS 12 is on the horizon and iOS 10 is already outdated. All the AR Apps, Fortnite and bunch of other Apps are not supported by iOS 10 despite of having a very capable hardware (iPhone 7 in my case). The Jailbreak even if it arrives in due time, iOS 12 will be here and probably even more apps and features will be unsupported by then. My patience for a Jailbreak has started to run out (by no means any way to nag PsycoTea whatsoever).

    Secondly, the native iOS is just so stale and has been for so long that it's just too boring to use. I thought about updating to iOS 11.3 (recent at the time of writing) but iOS 11 overall has been a mess and I am just wary to update.

    I guess what I am trying to ask is that I have an option to switch to pixel 2 and move to android. I've been hearing good things about Android O on Pixel. And honestly, Android O on Pixel seems so much appealing and I am very tempted to switch over for good. But I wanted to know what do you guys think?

    TL;DR iOS (jailed) is boring, Jailbreaks takes forever and iOS 10 is already missing out on many features and apps. I have an option to switch to Pixel 2 and I wanted to know what do you guys think?

    Best battery case for IPhone X

    I'm looking for a battery case unfortunately Mophie hasn't released one yet. So I'm looking for a case that has 4,000mah, wireless charging, lighting port connection to the case (I've invested in wireless chargers in every room as well as 10ft lighting chargers in every room and in my office) and the ability to use headphones via lighting port. Yes I'm well aware that I'm looking for the unicorn of cases but please any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Does anyone else hate the little blue dot under an app after you update it?

    I know it's a really minor thing to complain about and it's definitely not the end of the world for me, but it's so annoying seeing them all over my screen and having to open every app to make them go away, I don't need to know that bad that an app is updated. Is there any way to turn this off?

    What’s the true purpose of True Tone?

    I've searched online but have never found anything conclusive about it. Is True Tone's purpose to just make your viewing experience more comfortable at the expense of color accuracy? Or is it really displaying colors more accurately and we just think it's too yellow because we've been trained for years to think bluish white is real white?

    Another thing is that I'd never think about it on my iPhone 8, it was perfect (to my eyes), whereas on my X I have a constant feeling it's a bit too yellow.

    Any thoughts?

    Apps with Dynamic Icons

    Hey all. I'm on the hunt for apps that take advantage of iOS's somewhat recent ability to allow app developers to add extra icon designs that take effect on the home screen instantly. My favorite example of this is Carrot Weather. Another good one is Apollo for Reddit. Some apps like PocketCasts and Twitterific give you a few options to pick from, though not many. What other apps offer dynamic icons? All recommendations are welcome. Thanks!

    Someone uses my second account purchasing things. Should I worry?

    First of all excuse my English, it's not my native language. So today I discovered email "Your purchases from Apple" for my second account, which I used to download soft-launched games from New Zealand. The email says that "I" bought some In-app Purchase from something called "YY". I've never used this account to buy anything, it doesn't have any credit card linked.

    Next thing I did was checking it. I logged in, moved to setting and found out that my account is a part of a someone's family account. How is that possible? And should I even bother about that? I am confused, please help.

    Edit: you may wander why I didn't call Apple support. Well I tried to write them, but forgot answers for my security questions. And I'm not sure that having second account for another region is even legal in their book.

    iOS charging notification bug (iPhone X)

    Not sure if anyone else is having this issue or if it's just me. But ever since I updated to iOS 11.3 my phone will stop making the chime when it gets plugged in, and when on silent it stops giving the little vibration to let you know it's been plugged in and charging. But if I restart my phone it will start working again and then stop again eventually. Anyone else experience this?

    X or 8?

    I've had my iPhone 6 for almost 4 years now (Bought a 64g on launch back in 2014). It has since been broken and now I'm using my sister iPhone 6 16g. The phone has so many issues such as phantom phone tapping where my phone goes crazy and starts pressing randomly in random areas (sucks when I'm playing a game or on the phone). It'll freeze and shut off at least once a week. The memory is so low that I constantly delete photos every day just so I can do basic things on my phone.

    So, with that being said, I am in the market to get a new phone. I just wanted to get some advice on whether or not I should get the 8 or the X. Here's my thought process. I want the highest gb amount so that I never had to worry about memory. But the iPhone X is way to expensive with the monthly payment at that point. The 8 256g is more affordable but I feel like I'd be missing out on the X.

    I play a lot of games on my phone. Take/ edit photos a lot. Not much of a social media guy. Reddit. Browse. Watch YouTube. Music.

    I'm with Verizon BTW.

    Any suggestions?

    TL:DR - I've had an iPhone 6 16g for 4 years and it is about to crap out for good. I want the X but not sure if I should get the iPhone 8 256g instead because of price of the X.

    Light sensor too sensitive?

    Since the update if I hold my hand an inch from the top to the phone by the sensor (close to the ear speaker) the phone goes black, can't see anything. It use to darken but not goes completely black. Any way to turn down the sensitivity. I move my hand wrong and the phone goes to sleep. It is super annoying.

    Apple Music free triAl

    So I want to activate the 3 month trial. However I don't have a credit card. I know you can use a preloaded visa gift card or somethign like that but my parents don't want me to do that. So I was wondering if I could activate the free trial if I load like $25 into my account via an iTunes gift card. Will that work?

    Should I just not Apple Maps? What's the general consensus?

    Went to put in my destination, and I noticed that it's trying to put me on a different path than the one I took to where I'm at. In fact, there's a almost a hundred mile and one hour difference compared Google Maps, which actually chose my original route

    Apple Maps wouldn't even let me choose the route that Google Maps provided. Is this normal with Apple Maps?

    CamScanner app issues

    Hi guys, ever since I updated my phone to the most recent update the battery drains pretty quickly and my phone gets hot. I'll have it at 100% and I'll listen to music for 30 minutes and the battery will go down to 85%. Is there anything I can try to see if i can fix this?
