Posted: 02 Apr 2018 04:22 AM PDT I mostly use the tablet for readings and the occasional doodle, but as many people who use the iPad Air 2 with practically any stylus, drawing and note taking is just awful and unreliable. Would it be worth it to go for the iPad 2018 or should I just settle for a used iPad pro? I'm honestly fine with the 9.7 inch display and storage isn't an issue for me. Which one would you go for? Where’s the smart connector love???? Posted: 02 Apr 2018 04:58 AM PDT I've been an iPad Pro 12.9 owner for about 9 months now. Love it!! I have a 256gb, Apple Smart Keyboard, and of course the Apple Pencil. It has pretty much replaced my MacBook for work and does a swell job as an entertainment machine. The one thing that sort of disappointed me when I got the product was the lack of accessories that used the smart connector. There was the Apple Smart Keyboard and the one from Logitech but that was it. I really wanted something that gave you a backlit Keyboard as well as a place to store the pencil. At the time I figured that it would come with time. Well we are 9 months in on the current model and there's nothing...at least with smart connector. There are some Bluetooth accessories that have intrigued me (the brydge looks kinda neat) but you have to deal with lag and losing connection. With the Apple education event this past week, there was nothing mentioned about new accessories for the pro models...but that was more of wishful thinking on my part. It was aggravating that they announced a cheaper pencil (the crayon lol) but it was confined to only the new iPad. I don't know about all of you out there, but I would love a keyboard that was smart connected, included things like pencil storage and backlighting. Perhaps someone is aware of something being built or designed? Fingers crossed that we see somethings WWDC 2018. [link] [comments]

How to reset code of my own iPad (my little nephew change it) Posted: 02 Apr 2018 05:13 AM PDT My 5 years old little nephew took my iPad Air 2. I had a four digit passcode before. We don't know how but the child did anything related to change the passcode to 6 digit. He doesn't know what he did... Now my iPad are in the "hello" state and answering a 6 digit passcode. I try to put the iPad in lost mode in order to change the passcode but the iPad appears offline in icloud. The iPad doesn't remember my wifi!!. I must suppose the iPad was erased? I don't have an icloud backup because of the 5gb limit. Is there anything that I can do? (Sorry my poor english) [link] [comments]
Refurbished iPadPro 10.5 vs New iPad. Help me decide Posted: 02 Apr 2018 08:53 AM PDT +New iPad would cost me $409 for 128gb with education discount. +Refurbished 10.5 with 64gb would code $550 or 256gb $680 With regards to storage, 64 is probably fine given that I use cloud storage and other than loading documents or videos for flights I'll be in range of wifi. Ideally I'd like 128gb for extra room but not an option on the 10.5 Currently with over 200 apps and 20,000 pics and 800 videos - I have used less than 50gb on my 256gb iPhone. So is the A10X, laminated display, speakers worth the money to go up to the pro. I'd mostly be using it to view content, write notes with pencil, type papers, surf the web. Based on reviews I've seen so far the A10 should be powerful enough for me (but who doesn't want more power?). For me I think the biggest issues are screen size and future proofing. This will be my first iPad since the 2 so I doubt the non-laminated screen and refresh rate will annoy me a lot. Please help me decide. Been going back and forth since the announcement and I just want one already :) TL;DR Refurbished 10.5 vs New iPad [link] [comments]

iPad 2018: 32gb vs 128gb for professional consumption use? Posted: 02 Apr 2018 10:45 AM PDT Hi all, Thinking about getting the 2018 iPad for professional consumption use - mostly to read text pdfs and process emails w/ Evernote as content manager. Device will be augmenting work laptop and a 6s+. Don't plan on using it as a content creation device, media player or gaming rig (might add a game or two but that's it). No photos or music. Don't plan to get cell coverage - have wifi at home/work and work phone will bridge when needed. If you are in this situation, do you survive ok on 32gb or do you wish you had 128? My working assumption is my documents aren't huge and cloud services make on-board memory less important. Any other thoughts re: memory or wifi? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Holdout for the rumored 2018 IPP 12.9? Posted: 01 Apr 2018 07:28 PM PDT Hi, all. Grad student and new redditor here. Been leaning on getting an iPad Pro 12.9 for school but don't want to buy right now when tech blogs and sites are rife with rumors about Apple releasing new IPPs very soon. Then the new 9.7 iPad is announced in Chicago this past week. I don't think I'll get this new one, even though it's touted for its student friendliness, because I like the idea of the bigger real estate provided by the IPP 12.9, not to mention the more robust specs I've been reading and learning about. The Apple sales rep said she doesn't know anything about any new IPPs coming out at all and, besides, to paraphrase, "the latest IPP 12.9 was only released last year, so there's no reason to delay buying one now -- you would be very happy with it for a very long time." I get that she's not paid to discourage selling off current inventory and more than likely it's true she really doesn't know anything official about upcoming new products or announcements (the same mantra, "we know when you know"), but still... It's also probably true I would be very happy with the current IPP 12.9 for a long time to come -- however, I'm tired of getting burned by buying something only to have it superseded by a significantly upgraded version only a few short months later for not much more money. This has happened to me too many times! (I'm "Appled-up" with an iPhone X, Watch Series 3, and older gens of iPad Air and iMac, so I'm definitely committed to the ecosystem [so not considering the MS Surface]. Don't have a MBP [decided to get a Dell XPS 13 instead so I would have at least one Windows PC for cross-platform capabilities when necessary].) Just wanted to hear some thoughts on this... Thank you. [link] [comments]
Question about apple education financing Posted: 01 Apr 2018 11:11 PM PDT Hi all. I'm grad student in canada and would like to buy ipad for studying and reading paper and so on. I've searched apple website and found education financing. What is that exactly? Have anyone used that kind of thing? Please let me know what that is. Thank you all! [link] [comments]
iPad Pro or 2018 iPad for art? Posted: 01 Apr 2018 02:44 PM PDT So for the last few months I've been thinking very seriously about buying an iPad Pro to use for my art. I loved the Apple Pencil idea and really want to start using one. Now I see that this new iPad also has Apple Pencil compatibility. Does anyone one know if this new, cheaper iPad would be just as good for using art apps? (Adobe sketch, procreate) Like, would the screen still be just as sensitive, etc? I draw and paint, so I'm not worried so much about super technical differences. This new iPad just seems cheaper and I want to make sure I'm not missing out if I just go with buying it instead of the iPad Pro. [link] [comments]

iPad 2 user looking to upgrade. Help me decide, please. Posted: 01 Apr 2018 07:16 PM PDT I'm currently running a 64 GB iPad 2. It's on the latest iOS, which is to say that it's slow as hell. I've been using an iPhone for the last while, having upgraded to an 8 a few months ago from a 4S. At this point, I only use my iPhone 8 now, so I've got a bunch of old devices collecting dust that I might as well cash out. I am currently on vacation and took the iPad along, mostly because I wasn't thinking about its $700 retail price anymore and had nothing to lose. I basically only use it for iMessage on my desk (I leave my phone plugged in in a different room and run Windows) and extremely light web usage. Despite that, I was really enjoying using it in bed on vacation last night, except that it could only open two articles (heavier websites that are published today) or three text-based sites (think mobile Reddit or desktop forums) before sites would sometimes crash or reload. This basically made it impossible to multitask. Despite that, I've got around $300 estimated from the resale of old iOS devices to put towards a new iPad. I'd like 128 GB of storage (256 GB if possible, but it seems too expensive to get a Pro) and the regular screen size (so no iPad mini or 12" iPad Pro). The new 2018 iPad just released, but it's a little out of my price range. I'm currently leaning towards a used 128 GB 2017 iPad, but I have a few questions:
