Once after system restore(ios 11.3) gps arrow was black inside and ipad was actually showing proper gps location. Now after cleaning localisation settings and restarting (home+power) for a while is black arrow and is going to just outline shape-and no gps. How to fix this to have gps? | Oil/Grease on Smart Keyboard keys? Posted: 05 Apr 2018 01:29 PM PDT I noticed a pretty big smear on the space key of my smart keyboard for my 10.5" Pro, i'm pretty sure it's my finger oil since it lines up with how i keep my thumb over the space bar. I couldn't find any methods to clean the keyboard side of it on this sub or online, but has anyone else cleaned off any shiny spots on their keyboards successfully? I wash my hands 90% of the time before using my ipad, but I'll be more careful in the future now. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Should I return my iPad and buy it from Costco? Posted: 05 Apr 2018 11:59 AM PDT I bought a 128GB iPad for my 6yo last night for $417 (after corporate discount). It's the new one with pen support. The price from Costco is only $400. Apple Care is $70 for 2 years but excludes spills, while the SquareTrade plan is only $50 from Costco. Should I return mine and buy it from Costco instead or just add the Apple Care plan? Given how young my son is, seems worth it to have insurance on it. I'd like the spill coverage. I'm also confused about insurance from Costco. The generic 2-yr tablet insurance is only $50.product.100086706.html) but iPad insurance is $75. Anyone know the difference? | Ipad 2018 v.s Ipad pro 10.5 (2017) Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:31 PM PDT Hello I'm having a difficulty making a desicion , as you know apple just released the new ipad 2018 with better cpu and apple pencil support (wich makes them as powerful as the 1st gen ipad pro ) . I think that the new ipad has great value for the money only as the 32Gb model goes , once i add the pencil , the cover , the +128gb it reaches the 550 euros ( near the 10.5 pro territory ) I'll be using the ipad for some college 3D(volume extrusions) + retouch in procreate , maybe some bimx / autocad 360 lightly . So i'm strugling between the 32gb + pen ipad 2018 , and the 64 GB 10.5 pro Ipad + pen , ( double price ) Will the 32 GB ipad 2018 be enough (storage and performance ) if no ,would it be wise to invest for the 64 GB pro(2017) model instead of adding 100 euros for the 128 ?? | Is my iPad dead? Random Crashes, Stuck in Recovery Mode, Failed Restores? Posted: 05 Apr 2018 03:35 AM PDT My iPad Pro 9.7in has been acting up for a while. It hasn't been connecting to the smart keyboard (even had the keyboard replaced by Apple) and I'd occasionally need to restart. Well last week I restarted it but it wouldn't turn back on. After trying several things I plugged into iTunes to restore it. But iTunes said it was in recovery mode and I could only restore and update. Except when I would try, the update would fail and I'd get an unknown error (9). I tried with multiple USB ports, two computers, and a few lightning cables. The update would start, the Apple logo would show up, sometimes even a progress bar would appear (without making any progress). Once it got stuck in a restart loop. However, after messing around for several hours, I was somehow able to get it restored. I set it up as a new iPad, and was able to use it for the work functions I needed. And then this week, it was acting up a little, so I shut it down. And then it wouldn't turn back on. I plugged it into the computer, and started to restart the whole process again. Except this time, after iTunes found it in recovery mode, I was able to restart it, charge it, and it worked without having to restore. But the next day, I opened the Reddit app, and it crashed. Won't turn on, won't restart, connected to iTunes and attempted restore, but it failed with the same unknown error (9). Is my iPad dead? Over a year ago, the bottom of the aluminum frame was bent near the charging port, but there has literally not been any ill effects from it for a year or more. Any advice? I use this pretty regularly for work, and so I need to come up with a solution that doesn't involve buying a new iPad and Smart Keyboard. Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||

In the meantime I have a question. What is the best not taking app that you can EDIT notes on both a iPad and a windows PC that isn't OneNote. I would like something more a kin to Notability/Goodnotes that syncs with both windows and iOS(possibly android too though edit on android not important). I've been using a Supcase Shell and also have a cheap TPU shell. Amazon for the most part has the cases with the covers only. Can you recommend a case/website/search term? I checked out the apple pencil as well as the apps IOS has to offer and figured the iPad Pro 12.9" was probably going to be the best option. I knew adobe photoshop wasn't something I could use on the iPad but still had other options like astro pad. I just heard that Astropad simply works as a duel screen for your mac? I'm really confused now and am worried about dropping a ton of money on something that isn't going to meet my needs after all. I guess my big question is... if I have an iPad and that's all I have (no computer) will that be enough to do everything I want it to, even if there's no single do-it-all app and I have to use a few different apps together? I´m testing TeamViewer, but the sound seems to duplicate (it doesn´t mute PC while using the iPad). Splashtop can do this, but i think is a paid app (and a bit expensive) unless i use the iPhone version, which is sub-HD and limited for iPad. What do you recommend? I am going to talk about some different prices and products, so I will list those here: (I converted prices from my countries currency to USD) IPad pro 64GB = 920 dollars IPad 2018 32BG = 460 dollars Apple Pencil = 130 dollars Gift card = 140 dollars So I was excited to learn about iPad 2018 apple pencil compatibility! I have wanted the pro for a long time but thought the price was a bit over the top for me. I want to use it for notes in university and doing some art. The new ipad isnt out until next week in my country so I havent been able to try the pencil with it yet. Now apple store in my country offers a 140 gift card if you buy the ipad pro 64GB, meaning that you could basically get the pencil for free. I am now seriously considering this instead. I kinda want the better screen in the pro. Afraid that the air gap in the 2018 will be annoying and too noisy. Also, the pro is probably upgraded in june, so would it be stupid to buy now? The price for the new pro might become higher and I dont think I want to spend more money, plus I kind of like how the bezels are like now. | Posted: 05 Apr 2018 08:03 AM PDT I just updated my iPad mini 2 to iOS 11.3, and it feels great. Everything seems snappier and faster. Especially the multitasking feature, which was lagging a bit in the last version, is smooth as butter. Never experienced such increase in user experience and performance over an update, that too for such an old device. I have an iPhone 7 on iOS 11.3 and the iPad mini feels as fast it now. | Youtube keeps playing after I've paused it?? Posted: 05 Apr 2018 05:01 AM PDT Hi everyone, I've been having this issue with my 2017 Ipad Pro for a few weeks now. I'm using Safari to watch youtube videos as I find it more intuitive than the native app. However, when pausing the video and opening a new tab, Safari will automatically resume playing the video despite me being on a new tab and the fact that I did not press play. Similarly, pausing the video in Safari and then pressing the home button will also cause the video to restart playing again. I've tried removing all cookies and data etc and restarting the ipad, and I can't see a setting in safari that will change this Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks all! [link] [comments]  | ||
