    Hey /r/jailbreak!

    Earlier today, we told you that we have removed /u/laughingquoll's moderator permissions in lights of a recent conversation that was leaked from a group of developers.

    We stated that we needed some time to check everything, and this "everything" includes all records of him "being toxic to users", and/or doing other actions that a moderator shouldn't do that would be sent to modmail as requested.

    We reached out to LQ later in the day (he lives across the pond, so this was all happening while he was asleep), and we discussed the issues that were brought forth. He decided that his relationship as a developer to the community has hindered his ability to moderate without bias and it would be best for the community if he stepped down. Later in the evening, he removed himself as a moderator of /r/jailbreak and /r/iOSthemes.

    Please keep in mind that LQ will not partake in any future moderating plans. LQ doesn't have any access to /u/jailbreakmods (this account), nor he has access to our private chat.

    For those interested, here are some words from LQ in regards to his decision to step down.

    [Discussion] I would like to thank and recognize developer Majd Alfhaily creator of Cercube. The latest update of Cercube is nothing short of amazing. Importing YouTube videos to my music library on my iPhone X is easily the best tweak on IOS 11. Do yourself a favor and download Cercube.

    [Release] Bazzi - Full iPhone X Battery Icon Customizer

    Hey guys! I'm super excited to release a tweak I've been working very hard on this past month. Due to the success of PercentageBatteryX, I figured you guys would love a bunch of new styles to make your iPhone X truly yours.

    Bazzi includes 4 icon styles and 2 notch styles:

    • Battery - Percentage inside the battery icon
    • Circle - Percentage inside a circle icon
    • Percentage - Just the percent

    • % + Battery - Percent next to the battery icon, similar to how iOS used to display the percentage

    • Notch - A bar representing your battery percentage wraps around the iPhone X's notch

    • Bar - A bar is displayed directly underneath the notch

    All styles have been hand-crafted to look pixel-perfect. There are also tons of settings to customize everything to your liking.

    This tweak is available on the HASHBANG repo, by /u/thekirbylover. He is a reputable developer and a good friend of mine. He has been using CharizPay, a tweak payment system he developed, for HASHBANG products for years.

    [Discussion] Recent events pertaining to the Jailbreak Strike

    Dear r/jailbreak community,

    I'd like to start off by saying… sorry. We didn't want the strike to spiral into what it is now, and as one of those 'stupid developers' I'm here to type out a small essay on why we did it and what we actually wanted to achieve. Everything written in this note/essay is 100% truthful.

    We didn't want to be praised or worshiped and we especially didn't want to start drama, how stupid of us.. thank you for finding the word iTwe4ks.

    Our plan from the start: Our plan was to look as though we were leaving permanently, what we wanted was to see how the community would go without developers(~10 of us) and to see how the community changed, for the week we would not post anything about jailbreaking and behind the scenes we'd do everything as usual whilst writing a document to come back with.

    Contained in this document were some dot points along with an intro to a Reddit post we were writing, they were items such as; - Developers -> Users Communication - Users -> Developers Communication - Refunds and Policy - Bug Reporting / Bug Management - Toxicity(beware)

    I'll not be writing about the communication side of things just yet as I don't want to sound biased, as I'm not biased.

    Refunds and Policy I'm not certain of the refund policy myself but I'll try my best to understand it… Refunds are given when a tweak doesn't work as described or said tweak contains bugs, crashes or freezes, etc(please correct me if im wrong). We've had a discussion about when and how to give refunds and believe we came up with a good middle ground; - Within the first 48 hours - Instant refund, no questions asked. - After 48 hours - Within reason, no proof is needed. We believe this is a good way to make sure both sides are happy, this may not be the best or ideal way though.

    Bug Reporting / Bug Management Bug Reporting… oh how I loathe you. Users and developers have to work together to make a bug free tweak. Users are apart of the process too although you may not know it, whenever a developer releases a tweak it more than likely works on their device because it was built on it, when a user installs the same tweak with their setup it may not work the same due to tweak conflicts and whatnot, this is where the user comes in to play. Users will need to send detailed information pertaining to the issue as well as the Cydia files provided, this will ensure that developers know exactly whats happening and try to fix it asap, without info such as what you did to experience the issue developers know nothing and thus can't fix it which caused the bad feedback to developers saying we don't do anyhing to fix it.

    Reddit/Twitter(Toxicity) Reddit is a place where a lot of the rubbish piles up(hate, useless comments, repetitive posts on a topic with already too many posts(use the search function)), I'll touch up on this whenever I get the time… maybe.

    Twitter has slowly become another place for hate, comments on tweets that aren't helpful or nice in anyway just to hurt another user. Why?

    Everything is linked to everything else in one way or another, both sides need to respect each other as we are all the same. I'm sure I've worded some of this wrong but hope people get the right idea behind it.

    Conclusion: I'd like to conclude this small essay by saying that the only way we can change the community, is by changing ourselves, both users and devs, the 'heart' of the community.

    This may go over some peoples heads but I hope a majority of people read it and understand why we tried this strike, we didn't plan for a leak and some of the things said were not nice at all, we wanted to try a way at fixing the community and tried the wrong way, we found out that quite a lot of users dont't actually care whether we left or not, and some were glad we did(Quoll in particular).

    Small input from myself: I've been developing tweaks in the jailbreak community for 3~ years now and loved everything about it, starting programming 8 years ago(I was 12) and teaching myself literally everything I know has been a privilege, it's been the best part of my life to be in this community and from day 1 it has all been about how fun it is to alter the system and mess around.

    I've only had one paid tweak in my years of being a developer, unfortunately it could be more very soon as I don't have a job anymore(unfair dismissal), this is what I love and if I could earn money from it and do this as a full time job it'd be the most amazing thing to ever happen to me, but, thats not up to me.

    [Update][Upcoming] Full screen iMessages

    Hey guys I just wanted to let you know that I will be incorporating this. The beta of my tweak is on http://beta.auxiliumdev.com if you would like to try it now. At the moment it removes the status bar and removes the navigation bar in message view and some optimizations. I'm adding a swipe from the left gesture to open contact info as well. Let me know what you think. :)

    Step 2: Go to mobile/Containers/Data/Application/(Your PUBG Mobile App)/Documents/ShadowTrackerExtra

    Step 3: Replace the Saved folder

    Step 4: Reboot

    Step 5(Optional): Re-jailbreak with Electra

    Tested on iPhone X, latest PUBG Mobile 0.5.1, confirmed working. You will instant notice the difference

    The answer is PayPal dispute.

    PayPal is pretty shitty but one thing they do well is customer support. Dispute any declined refunds or any purchases you feel ripped off from.

    After a couple they'll get the message and paypal themselves will look into whats going on.

    [HELP]! I need testers for my tweak :D? Anyone interested? suggestions accepted!

    Uh, as the title says, I need a few testers for my tweaks to be sure when it's rolled out, it's fully baked, not incomplete. I've heard from people that this community is very nice and helpful, so I'll be very thankful if people decide to spare their time with me, the tweak is called CallProXI It currently does this

    -Warn user before calling someone when calling through dialect

    -TouchID auth after a call ends to verify it's you, if you fail it, the device locks

    -TouchID auth when you click any hardware button(cause it gives access to your phone if it was unlocked before accepting the call) If the auth fails, it's gonna ignore the press

    I'll host the tweak on my repo until it's final release, then it'll go on bigboss :) Here's my repo

    I think the home gesture could bypass the tweak (iPhone X so please test and report)

    Maybe the lock after call doesn't work on many devices, I'll change the execution of this part so it works every time
