    Ghostbusters 4K Flickering on Netflix

    Posted: 05 Apr 2018 02:58 AM PDT

I saw Netflix had Ghostbusters in 4K, so I started playing it. The movie has a good amount of grain, which is fine, but it was noticeably flashing. The scene where Peter is doing the psychic test on the college students, behind the male participant, there is a really noticeable flicker. I decided to try my HD iTunes version and that was way better. Can anyone else test this?

Switch music from Apple TV to iPhone

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 04:03 PM PDT

With Spotify it's possible to quickly switch between computer, iPhone and Apple TV. Is there a way to switch from music that you started playing on the Apple TV to my iPhone? I haven't been able to see a way. It's a nice feature for if I'm walking around the apartment.

    Bluetooth airplay?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 05:30 PM PDT

I tried to set up Airplay over Bluetooth (without any internet connection at all) as I would like to recommend it to my wife's parents who live outside of range of any internet providers. I was able to get it to work, but video streaming has been a no go so far. With Hulu, I get sound but no video. With Netflix, it doesn't play at all. Am I doing something wrong possibly?

Apple TV 4K : extending Macbook Pro desktop for a wireless 4K display ?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 06:10 AM PDT

    Hi there,

I'm a big fan of multidisplays for work. I work on a 21:9 or WQHD screen on a daily basis, plugged in my Macbook Pro. I just wish this could be wireless.

But I just learned that Airplay 4K might be a solution !

Some colleagues own a 1080 Apple TV and I just tried extending my desktop to a 1080 TV plugged in the (normal) Apple TV, via AirPlay. It worked pretty fine ; I noticed a small delay but it was not un-usable for writing code in an IDE or having secondary apps like Skype or Slack. Maybe not suitable for videostreaming, but that is not my objective.

I'm really interested in buying a Apple TV 4K with a 4K TV, so I can have a 4K wireless monitor to work with. But I can't find any review regarding extending a Mac OS desktop to a wireless 4K display via Airplay / Apple TV 4K. I'm afraid the result would be pretty laggy.

Does anybody here use this set-up for work ? Is it useable ? Does it require specific Wifi requirements to avoid any potential lag ?

    Thanks for your help !

James Bond not in 4K in the UK

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 07:04 AM PDT

In America, the complete catalogue has been in 4K for ages, and we are still waiting. Come on. James Bond is British.

Oh - E.T. is in 4K in America, and not in the UK either. And E.T. isn't American. He's from 'out there'.

    WHY?????

    WiFi vs Ethernet?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 06:10 AM PDT

Was thinking of getting an Apple TV. I've seen some post with people having issues with the WiFi. I won't be able to connect Ethernet to it brace it's in another room. Anyone else have issues with it?

    Apple TV without a TV

    Posted: 04 Apr 2018 01:24 PM PDT

I have an Apple TV connected to the stereo system and I only use it for audio (I have an HDMI to Audio Jack Converter).

The reason I can't use an Airport Express is that it just allows airplay and no image, which means that there is a noticeable delay between image and audio, when watching videos.

My actual problem is that sometimes when rebooting the Apple TV, it asks some kind of questions or gives some kind of notification you have to click "OK" to, before it is operational. It's hard to click these menus without a monitor connected to the HDMI ports.

So, solution can be one of the following, I assume:

    1. is there some way to not have these questions or notifications at boot?
    2. is there some way to remote into the apple tv to view what it's actually outputting to the HDMI port?

    Any other ideas?

Are the left and right channels flipped for anyone else in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2? Every other movie is fine for me but that one has a dude fly to the left but you hear him to the right. I have spoken with Apple customer service several times and nothing changes.
