PSA: Press and hold the “+” new tab button on Safari for iPhone to pull up recently closed tabs. Posted: 08 Apr 2018 10:26 PM PDT Never knew this existed and is super helpful when you accidentally swipe out of tabs you didn't mean to. [link] [comments] |
Do EMTs and other emergency responders actually use Apple medical ID on iPhones and Apple Watches? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 09:44 AM PDT I've had my medical ID set up for a long time now, and I just bought an Apple Watch yesterday. I just started wondering if first responders actually use medical ID or if it's kind of ignored. I worry that it's too hidden to be widely used. I know someone else asked that question on this subreddit 3 years ago, but I wanted to see if anything has changed since then. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
It's mind numbing how messages is still out of order on mac os... Posted: 08 Apr 2018 02:16 PM PDT Not much a question as a discussion. Hopefully someone will tell me that there is an easy fix, because I'm losing my mind. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 08 Apr 2018 02:33 PM PDT It seems my Macbook wants to reboot and install some huge-ass update (not an OS upgrade, just a run-of-the-mill update) which requires a reboot + booting into what appears to be UEFI firmware mode to install, and the progress bar always claims it needs 30+ minutes. This only started happening back in the OS X Sierra days and I just want to know why the hell these updates take so extravagantly long. [link] [comments] |
Apple’s New Ad Conversion Tracking Will Benefit User Privacy Posted: 08 Apr 2018 09:28 AM PDT |
Why/how is YouTube blocking all the native iOS video player controls in embedded YouTube vids? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 03:16 AM PDT You don't have the option to full screen, you don't have the 15sec forward back buttons, and the fist time you click on the video to bring up the controls it pauses the video? It's really, really crappy. Is this just google being passive agressive shitty about forcing people onto YouTube or their app? [link] [comments] |

What changes would you like to see in the next macbook pro refresh? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 07:57 PM PDT Personal changelist request: [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Apr 2018 10:33 PM PDT I've got an ad blocker on my phone. Purify, to be exact. I used to use the DNS method but the latest update had pretty much crippled that. Purify is good enough, usually. It works maybe 85% of the time (outside of some porn sites, but that's not really the point). It used to absolutely crush at blocking ads from Google. I bought this ad blocker because I was sick and tired of seeing shitty YouTube ads polluting my viewing experience. And it worked. For a good while, I didn't get any YouTube ads. That's all changed. I don't know what happened but I'm right back where it all started. My entire screen gets filled with ads and sponsored videos and sponsored links to the P&G website and thirty second long ads for dish soap and car insurance and I am right back to square one. I really don't see how an ad blocker can't prevent these elements from loading. And no, I will not download the YouTube app, out of principle if for no other reason. [link] [comments] |
Let's talk about the iPad and Pencil. Posted: 08 Apr 2018 06:14 PM PDT How do you guys think the iPad and Apple Pencil can be improved? I want the charger to be magnetic or something on the side of the iPad, because I broke the charger cap trying to carry the dumb thing.. [link] [comments] |

What native Apple apps have you dropped for 3rd party options? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 11:14 AM PDT I've dropped ITunes for Google Play Movies due to chrome cast support. I'm thinking about dropping Apple Music for Pandora due to the better radio personalization. Also thinking about dropping Podcasts for PocketCast due to better UI. [link] [comments] |
It looks like the latest version of Safari breaks a lot of websites Posted: 08 Apr 2018 09:56 AM PDT Ones I've noticed are Chase banking and Confluence by Atlassian. Were there big changes in the latest Safari or something? [link] [comments] |
Apple's voice recognition needs help. Here's an example. Posted: 08 Apr 2018 10:49 AM PDT I'm driving in my car listening to the radio and a song comes on that I have never heard before, which I like. It was by a band called Dorothy. So, I immediately say "Hey Siri, remind me to check out the band Dorothy." Here are the results: https://i.imgur.com/uu5UCMC.jpg After 5 tries, I fired up Reminders and used the voice recognition built into GBoard. [link] [comments] |
Noticed the ceiling at a local convention center matches the HomePod's texture Posted: 09 Apr 2018 01:15 AM PDT https://imgur.com/Iku1NeZ Does this have acoustic properties? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Apr 2018 12:32 AM PDT I have had the iPhone since the launch , 1 week ago suddenly its colour started peeling off https://imgur.com/a/9gZed I contacted Apple support about it , I live in Pakistan so we don't have Apple stores here so they directed me to a Apple authorized service provider, the Apple authorized service provider is asking me for a original proof of purchase and saying they can't replace my phone without it I bought this phone locally in Pakistan from a mobile shop so I don't have Apple store receipt. Is there any way I could get my phone replaced ? [link] [comments] |
Is there anyway to organize your notifications? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 08:58 AM PDT I really hate that my notifications are all over the place and would like to keep them organized by app. Is there any way to make this happen? [link] [comments] |
iPhone X no vibration when charging Posted: 08 Apr 2018 04:12 PM PDT Normally when I plug my phone in it gets a vibration. Lately there has been a problem where it won't give the vibration, in order to fix it I have to restart the phone. Anybody else? [link] [comments] |
Would you be interested in a Product RED MacBook/MBP/iMac? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 01:24 PM PDT |
When do you think AirPower and the AirPods wireless charging case will be released? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 12:57 PM PDT I was hoping Apple would have announced both to be available at the recent education keynote. Any guesses when we'll be able to buy them? [link] [comments] |
Email PowerUsers! Airmail doesn't seem to be doing well, what do you use? Posted: 08 Apr 2018 11:28 PM PDT I've been living my life in Airmail for years but lately, it seems to struggle with Exchange integrations. I use Bear, Fantastical, Markup, OmniFocus and a slew of custom workflows and scheduled. Airmail was great (for a while) at working with these things. Sadly, it's looking like time for a change. SO - What's your go to email client for MacOS/iOS? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 08 Apr 2018 04:02 PM PDT Looking into a pair of airpods. But, do you think they will be releasing a series "2" of them this fall? Or should I just go for it? Is there really going to be much of a difference when a new series comes out? [link] [comments] |
