    The iPhone needs an Internet-based "recovery mode," like the Mac has. It would be so much easier to restore your iPhone if you didn't need iTunes to do it.

    When something goes wrong with the operating system on your Mac, just hold down Command-R while powering it on. This goes into Internet recovery mode, which mounts an Apple-owned server, and remotely re-installs macOS onto your computer. It's fantastic (and much better than the days of old where you had to dig out a disc).

    The same should be doable on the iPhone. Hold down a couple buttons while powering on, and it connects to Apple's servers to reinstall iOS. No need for iTunes on a computer. Cut the cord completely. This is how it should be.

    iPhone 6 screen is now popping off 2 weeks after an Apple Store battery replacement. I’m worried the Li-ion battery is swelling. Has anyone had this happen before? Is there some kind of repair warranty to help fix this?

    Since Apple included the battery health option in their beta I started wondering how everyone else's battery health is. State your iDevice, when you started using it and your capacity.

    iPhone 7 - bought it a year and a month ago and I'm on 88% battery health.

    Anyone else having this issue? I keep getting this error message stating there was a problem logging in. Removed and re-entered information. It seems to work, but a few minutes later the same message pops up again.

    When I bought my iPhone X I thought that I will be one of the little people that got this device but, in my city, a little city, everybody have an iPhone X, much more than other iPhone models. Also you can see AirPods everywhere!

    Apple Maps sucked for a while and has seemed really good lately. Then I moved really far away and now it sucks again. Roads go places they don't actually go and directions lead me to the backside of stores. It is really crazy! I've been reporting issues quite frequently.

    Traveling abroad with my iPhone X. Want to use local sim cards like I always do. Just realized I can’t unlock my phone like my old phone was until my phone is paid off. Is there any way to unlock my phone via a third party? Like iphoneIMEI.net or something?

    I recently upgraded my student subscription to the Family Plan with 5 other members. Everyone who has an iPhone was able to use my link, log into their Apple ID, and accept my invitation.

    The last user has an Android, but is unable to accept my invitation. Instead they see the 3-month trial option upon clicking my link and opening the Apple Music app.

    Any ideas? Did anyone get this working?

    Not getting voicemails on iPhone 6s Plus Metro PCS

    My dads getting calls but the voicemails wont work. I tested it a couple times and he doesnt receive them. If he does get them it takes up to an hour before he can listen to it.

    Any idea how to fix this?

    Sup Folks,

    I am still using the ancient and sturdy 6 (16GB). After updating to IOS 11, my battery has literally gone to to hell and I needed to buy a battery pack.

    I got the Apple Smart Pack (https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MGQM2LL/A/iphone-6-6s-smart-battery-case-white) and not it seems to be doing a lot better (but the phone does get hot for some reason!).

    I don't want to upgrade just yet, I find both the 8s a little boring and the X seems to have its own issues and is stupidly pricey.

    Based strictly on battery life, how would you guys rate the 8s and the X compared to the older phones (6 for example)? What about a the older phones with a battery pack vs the newer phones? Any suggestions here?

    Should I wait it out till the 9/11 or are the new phones worth it?

    EDIT: I'm not a gamer (at least not on the phones), I'm not a photographer, I don't mind the size of the 8 Plus. I just want something silky smooth with the best possible battery life.

    I just bought an iPhone SE, but...

    For whatever reason, my AppleID that I just created tonight keeps getting locked forcing me to reset my password three times! I already had to pass on a very strong password for a couple of my past ones. Immediately after resetting my password it tells me that it is locked for security reasons. My carrier is the Wal-Mart Family Mobile plan.

    I just wanted to download some of my familiar apps from the App Store.
