    I may be addicted...

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 02:37 AM PST

People that know me know that I don't care about fashion or what I look like one iota. Never have, never will. I thank my SO for making sure I dress somewhat acceptable, that I have the right clothes in my closet and that I just have to grab something from the top of the stack.

When I bought my AWS3 back in november 2017 I bought it for the notifications. I had to take my iPhone out of my pocket all the time, only to conclude some "ding" wasn't important enough to drop what I was doing and put it back in my pocket (I'm on standby a lot). Now I have access to that information on my wrist. I was / am so happy with it. I bought my AWS3 with a gray sport band because I have a space-gray iPhone and space-gray watch (and I hope someday to buy a space-gray iMac Pro... what a beauty!). And the gray band is great. Love it. But I wanted to experiment with another band or two. But since they're quite expensive and I didn't know what I'd like and what I wouldn't I decided to look for cheap replica's to experiment and then decide on which Apple branded band to buy.

So I bought a few bands of AliExpress. And then some more. And more. Until I got to the point where I had 19 bands. And I have to say, with a very little few exceptions, the bands are actually not bad at all. No, they're no Apple quality but for the money (often less than $5, though I do have a $50 band and a few $10/$20 bands) they're actually pretty good. And with this many bands they don't wear down as much since I swap them more often so they last longer. My current collection is about $200 for 19 bands (around $150 for 18, I bought an "expensive" $50 HOCO band). And, God help me, I just ordered another 12 bands for €41,71 (about $51.92).

I think my collection will be complete enough by the time these arrive right... until I order a new batch.... I really wanted some nylon bands so that's what started this round of ordering. I wanted a few more colors for the silicone bands because... why not. And then I also wanted to add a few bands to my "Nike" bands; I'm really digging the black/yellow one I already have so I ordered a "spare" one of those and two other color variations.

Don't get me wrong, I may be "addicted" (tongue in cheek) but it's not a problem. It isn't because for 31 bands I'll have spent around $200-$250. If I would've gotten Apple genuine I'd be broke 😛 I am planning to buy one or two Apple genuine bands too.

So one think I didn't expect but did happen was that the AW made me (a very tiny little bit) more fashionable. For the first time in my life I'm spending money on how I look... or at least what my wrist looks like 😛

Anyway... just wanted to share. I'm sure I'm not alone. Who's also addicted to bands and has a nice collection?

WatchOS 4.3 Beta 1 restores iPhone Music Control

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 12:29 PM PST

Remember when Apple removed Music Control WatchOS 4? Since then you weren't able to navigate your library using the Apple Watch. The only music that you were available to play from the Watch was music stored in the Watch itself.

With WatchOS 4.3, this functionality is now available once again. In addition, you can AirPlay from iPhone to AirPlay speakers from Apple Watch control

If you could only have one Watch and band combination, what would you choose?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 04:53 AM PST

Apples attention to detail is top notch sometimes. Even got my card design on the watch. Now if they only had the correct watch there it would be perfect!

How should I charge my S3?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 12:19 AM PST

Hi everyone, I got my S3 (non-lte) recently after owning a S0 and the battery life is incomparable, I find myself never going below 50% in a regular work day. Furthermore I sleep with it (using Sleep++) and charge it before going to bed and before leaving in the morning.

With this I'm wondering if what I do will lead to less battery life in the future.

    What do you people say?

    Case/screen protector help

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 08:01 AM PST

I am trying to find a case/screen protector combo that is decent for my 42mm S3. I did a google search but I can't find anything. I have a spigen bump case and a screen protector that I use but after I install the screen protector, even if I let it sit overnight. The Spigen case peels off the edges when I put it back on and results in my protector peeling off I work with metal machines all day and I am nervous that I will damage the watch.and I am tired of looking at edges that are peeling off. please any recommendations?

Im inlove with the saddle brown classic buckle......

First Week With Series 3. Joined the club with a 38mm. Love it. Haters gonna hate, but the Activities tracking is awesome!

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 05:26 PM PST

    Who's still rocking a Series 0?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 01:53 PM PST

Im just curious how many others are using the original Apple Watch and what your experience with it is.

Im still using the OG 42mm Black SS, its definitely showing some wear, but it still works great for my everyday use, battery life isn't terrible either. Truthfully, I hope I don't have to replace it anytime soon.

What is VO2 max and is this result considered healthy?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 06:37 AM PST

I just finished my first 'workout' with my Apple watch (just a simple daily walk I've been doing for the past week but I completely forgot about logging it as an exercise up until today) and when I look at my health data I see a new kind of data called VO2 max with a value of 34,03 ml/(kg.min), what is it and is this a healthy result?

I'm guessing the O2 stands for oxygen maybe but I have no clue what it actually means

Apple Watch faster with new iPhone?

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 06:17 AM PST

At the moment, i use a AW S2 with a iPhone 6 (Yes, not S!). The speed of the watch is... okay. But i experience some long loading times in an app (even some apple stock apps).

I think the iPhone is aso a little bit a problem.

Is it possible, to run a AW faster when the iPhone is faster too (because of the newer processor in the iphone, more ram and so on...)?

Non-owner, could not find answers to this online

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 05:46 AM PST

I'm looking at getting an Apple Watch to help with my YouTube endeavors. For what I do with my channel, I'm probably going to need a GPS model. As the Series 3 goes, I understand it has Siri speaking integrated. For the purpose of video, the only thing I'd need Siri to say is my distance ran. Can Siri do this?

The Series 2 is going for much less on eBay and seems to have nearly everything I'd need for my channel, but it would be very helpful if Siri could say aloud my distance ran. Is there a chance Siri voice is added to a WatchOS update for the Series 2?

    Thanks in advance

    Carrot Fit app and circles

    Posted: 26 Jan 2018 01:40 AM PST

Does anyone use the Carrot Fit app? Am I able to progress with my Move and Exercise rings using that application or do I have to start a workout in the Workout app before opening Carrot Fit?

Mail not syncing or extremely slow.

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 09:24 PM PST

My mail app is basically unusable. 9/10 times messages wont load, and it only syncs randomly. Right now, the last message it has is from 9AM (but cant even read it) this morning when I've had a ton of emails come in today.

I've unpaired and repaired the watch, didnt work. Anyone else deal with this issue? Series 3 LTE, iPhone 8 plus.

Do any of you Actually use the AW Dock?

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 10:00 PM PST

I was very excited for the way the dock is displayed in watch os 4, But i have found that i don't really go there at all. If i launch something i am more likely to do it from a complication than from anywhere else. are any of you actually using the dock? what are the main things that are you are using it for meaning, what are the apps that are you switching into constantly.

The only reason i am using the dock is to switch between podcast control of the app overcast and the volume on the now playing app/screen.

Do you use the dock on Recents or Favorites Mode?

things i have on the dock are:

    1. Now playing
    2. timer
    3. Chronometer
    4. Drafts
    5. messages
    6. Fantastical
    7. Todoist
    8. Eta
    9. Darksky
    10. Activity

The state of offline playback on the Apple watch

    Posted: 25 Jan 2018 11:22 PM PST

A few months ago Overcast, an app that allowed offline playback of podcasts on the Apple watch removed said feature. To date, we haven't really gotten an alternative, native or otherwise. The same situation with Spotify and offline playback, we haven't heard much about that either.

Anyone here have any info? Or perhaps an alternative?
