Things you would like to see for the 2018 MacBook refresh? Posted: 16 Jan 2018 11:56 PM PST So I'm guessing we all want improved internals. Especially 256 GB minimum storage for all MacBooks, preferably 512 GB. What else would you like to see? For the MacBook, we need at least one more USB-C port. For the Pro, a 4k screen resolution would be nice to have. It's been a few years now and there are use-cases for having it. I'd also like to have to have tactile function keys again. Keep the touchbar as an extra if they must, but let's have some more added support for it. And the keyboard - I know it's a hate it or love it. I like it but maybe they could add a bit more travel so it gets more widely adopted. I'm not sure what they could do with the Air. It's a great machine and it's still budget friendly. Also not sure about software updates. I'm thinking it might be minimal this year. [link] [comments] | ||

Quick question about 2017 MacBook Pro CPU choices Posted: 16 Jan 2018 08:57 AM PST Just what is the fastest CPU you can get it with? As a software developer the recipient will be spending a lot of time in text editors and then much more resource hungry Integrated Development Environment (IDE) software. Generally whatever the best i7 available is, that is what gets ordered. What does 2.9ghz configurable to 3.1ghz mean? Edit: found a spec sheet [link] [comments] |
