| iOS Pages v3.3.1 is missing the Recipe Template Posted: 23 Jan 2018 07:01 PM PST Long story behind why, but I finally got around to creating a personal recipe book, and opening Pages, and going to the templates list, discovered that the template of a Chocolate Chip Cookie in Lorem Ipsum is no longer there. I have absolutely no idea how long it has been since it was removed from the app. I also cannot seem to discover any trace of it, so I've come here to see if anyone still has that actual template or a recipe made with that template that I could use as a replacement. Thank you all in advance. Technical stuff: Devices I've looked on are an iPad Mini 2 (iOS 11.2.2) , and an iPhone 7 (iOS 11.2.2), both using version 3.3.1 of the Pages app. I have in fact called Apple's support line, and they apparently are completely unable to provide ANY templates to me or anyone else. I got a pair of wireless earbuds on Amazon, it is called S560 from X Live, and when I tried it with my iPhone 7, with iOS 10, the minimum volume is very loud for listening in a quiet environment. Compared the the lightning earbuds which offer a better volume range, the wireless earbuds start very loud at the lowest setting. Is there a way to limit the volume? I've tried redownloading from the App Store, but it doesn't show up on my phone afterward and pressing OPEN in the App Store does nothing. My restrictions are all turned off as well. | My activation code is being sent to the iphone that needs to be activated Posted: 23 Jan 2018 09:25 PM PST I recently switched from sprint to version, which made me reset my phone meaning I have to sign into my apple account again. The problem is that after I put my info in the two-step authorizer made it so I have to put in a code that is sent to a phone. Unfortunately, the number that it sends the code to is my number. I have tried to log in to my account on other devices to try and check my messages, but it requires the same thing. I tried to do the recovery, but the recovery says it will take 6 days to do and will send the directions on what to do to ME. So it looks to me now that I have no way of accessing my account. | How do I dispose of the many Macbook batteries I have? Posted: 23 Jan 2018 09:07 PM PST I have like 20-30 Macbook batteries, from the white Macbooks up to like 2013 Macbook Pros. Some are really swollen and make me nervous having them around. I am pretty far from an Apple store to bring them there. There is not really a local dump around here to take them either. Sometimes the high school does some electronics recycling, but you never know when they are gonna do it. Also, what do you do with other types of batteries, like just AA, AAA, D, C, etc. and also phone batteries. I have a whole box and they are all leaking the nasty battery acid. My mom used to bring them to her work where they disposed of them, but she is retired now and I now have a huge collection of batteries that need to be disposed of. Thanks [link] [comments]  |

| What is the purpose of My Photo Stream? Posted: 23 Jan 2018 04:37 PM PST I decided to experiment with "my photo stream" a couple weeks ago. Been using drop box for the times I needed to get some photos onto my MacBook quickly with fidgeting with my phone cable. I figured "hey lets try my photo stream maybe it's more convenient". After 2 weeks of use I've decided that it is completely useless. Tell me if I'm being ignorant here. So a photo that ends up in your iPhone or iPad's camera roll is automatically uploaded to "my photo stream". The photo is then added to your photos library automatically. If you delete the photo from "my photo stream" it deletes it from your library too. If you delete the photo in your library it deletes it from "my photo stream" in return. So you have up to 1000 photos or 30 days with "my photo stream" before it starts deleting the oldest ones correct? I researched it a bit and apparently you have to save a photo to an album to make sure you don't loose the photo. Which is kind of annoying because while I may want to save a photo, I don't necessarily need it in an album. But whatever, I can get used to that. So I saved a photo to an album as a test. Then deleted it from "my photo stream". The photo disappeared from the album too! So there has to be something I'm not getting here. Otherwise people would be freaking out that they're loosing their photos after 30 days. What am I not getting? If I designed the service I'd make it so that photos that go through "my photo stream" automatically end up in your library through the "imported" folder. Then you'd just go in and clear out the junk photos from there every once in a while. Leaving all the photos in "my photo stream" to be auto deleted. That way I don't have to worry about loosing important photos. I'm sure I have this wrong. But it's been vexing me. Can someone give me some clarity on how this is supposed to work? | Posted: 23 Jan 2018 04:36 PM PST I have recently added a lot of photos to my library, and it is currently only scanning less than 1000 per hour, but none of my system resources appear to be heavily used. I know there were problems in earlier versions with excessive resource usage when people wanted to do other things, but i get this slow processing even when nothing else is running. I went to the apple store today and they told me my phone is in warranty till june I want to get my iphone replaced because it is literally just too slow, i can barely use apps at times because of excessive lagging and crashing of apps, especially snapchat. everything else on my phone is good it's just that the phone is just too slow and because im still under warranty would that be a good reason to get my phone replaced or should i just try a new battery? I don't think the battery is the problem because it holds charges fine, it's just typing at times is extremely slow and laggy and i can barely use apps without them crashing i have a 6 plus 11.2.2 [link] [comments]  |

I've searched on the problem, and it seems all the posts are on how to make the iPhone do that, and no one seems to know how to do it without using an app like Chime. | Posted: 23 Jan 2018 02:27 PM PST My iPhone is on iOS 10.2 and I didn't want to update it for fear of slowdown. Unfortunately, my phone started acting weird yesterday and I started being signed out of applications like YouTube and Spotify. All of my tabs in Safari were erased (and still occasionally erased without me X-ing out of the tab). My photos were at 0 but finally reappeared fully. My text messages unfortunately disappeared completely even though the size is the same in my storage (13gb) I just downloaded iOS 11.2.5 for my iPad and that worked perfectly. I was able to backup the tablet. When I went to go download the update for the iPhone thinking that would be the quick fix, I noticed it doesn't even show 11.2.5. It just says "iOS 11". That is a first and normally it is the current available version. I'm trying to download the software from iTunes but that failed once because it timed out but I'm trying again now. Is there a chance I can save my texts if I can just download the new update...if I CAN download the new update? (My last backup was June 6th, 2017 so I don't want to lose pictures and notes) [link] [comments]  |
| Stupid question about downgrading OSX Posted: 23 Jan 2018 12:01 PM PST Basically I have a early 2011 MacBook Pro. I updated the ram and switched to a SSD. I recently updated to what ever the newest software is and I'm noticing performance issues 😰 and I feel the OS is to much for the processor to handle. Would it be worth downgrading the OS or not? I basically use the laptop now for basic things. Photos app (honestly miss iPhotos), browsing the web and iTunes to organize my music. Is it as simple as putting my snow leopard cd in and formatting the drive like a PC? Or it's not recommended to do? Thanks in advance for ya'll advise [link] [comments]  |
