If I search for a show like 'The Grand Tour' it says by each episode 'subscribe to watch' but if I click on one of them it launches the Prime Video app to play the show instead of playing it directly in the TV app?? | Posted: 08 Dec 2017 06:39 PM PST Downloaded the Amazon Prime app to my ATV. Tried to start it and it claimed that my unit wasn't connected to the internet. I had to pull the plug and then plug it back in because it wasn't responding to my remote. After my APTV restarted I tried several other apps (DirecTv Now, Netflix) and they worked just fine. Tried Amazon Prime again and it failed again. Anyone having the same problem? [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 09 Dec 2017 12:43 AM PST I'm seeing very odd behaviour with the new TV app. If I add something to up next on my iPad, it appears on my iPhone (and vice verse) but not on my Apple TV. However, if I start watching a movie on my Apple TV it appears in up next on all 3 devices. Very strange. It seems "Watch Now" syncs from my Apple TV to my iPhone and iPad, but not the other way round. Any ideas?? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Apple TV 3rd Gen - is it pretty much a doorstop now? Posted: 08 Dec 2017 04:53 PM PST We've had 2 Apple TV 3rd gens for years. Mainly used them for viewing Apple content and Netflix. However, in the last year we finally cut the cable and went with PS Vue. We've also got Amazon Prime and we're streaming pretty much through either PlayStations or a Fire TV. As it stands, our Apple TVs can't stream any of our main content providers. So - anything useful we can do with them? Anyone take them on trade for upgrading to either Gen 4 or 4k? I've been waiting for the Amazon Prime cube, but if Apple TV is far superior I'd be happy to migrate to that since it's now got the Prime app. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||
| Posted: 08 Dec 2017 07:13 AM PST Netflix, Amazon and Plex apps are my most used on my Apple TV. They're all fantastic apps. NowTV on the other hand is beyond terrible. It remains on version 1 years after initial launch and it's incredibly bad to use. Sky are ignoring customers on their own website and social networks. For me it's the final app in the puzzle for me. | 3rd generation with german audio & english subtitles Posted: 08 Dec 2017 01:52 PM PST i have a 3rd gen apple tv, am watching netflix's "Dark", and want to hear the audio in german and read the subtitles in english (the english dubbed audio is horrible). when i hold down the center button to bring up the options, i can change audio to german, BUT there's a german voiceover describing EVERYthing. this is annoying. when the dubbed english is on, there is no similar voiceover. there must be a way to get the original german dialog without the voiceover, ya? | Handful of 4K & HDR movies just disappeared from my library Posted: 08 Dec 2017 04:47 PM PST I had 34 last night, but today that number is 25. My total number of movies in my library is the same, it's just the number of films in 4K and HDR that changed. The weird thing is that when I go to one of the movies that disappeared, it still says 4K and HDR on the movie listing page, it just won't stream at that quality. It streams at HD and SDR instead. None of my video settings have changed and I've tried the check cable option and rebooted the device. Movies are still missing. Movies that are still remaining in my 4K and HDR section still stream at the highest quality with no issue. Anyone else have this? [link] [comments]  | ||
| PSA: Apple TV 4th Gen - Pink Output Fix Posted: 08 Dec 2017 04:16 PM PST My Apple TV, a few days later after the latest update, for some reason started showing the display in shades on pink. Originally I had thought that the unit was on the way out (I also found it doing the blink of death earlier in the day), but I took a look at the HDMI Output setting and it was using YCbCr. | Posted: 08 Dec 2017 03:37 PM PST I've read that if you see a picture with your HDMI cable then they are good. I've switched the chroma to 4.2.2 on the new ATV4K and everything looks good. My concern is it does look slightly different then my native Amazon app when watching UHD content, also I looked up my amazon HDMI order and its from 2009. The cable says its for HDMI 1.3b.
