| Posted: 29 Oct 2017 02:06 AM PDT This morning I went to look through a few photos in my camera roll and I found two selfies my girlfriend took of herself next to each other taken at 12:45am. We weren't together last night, as we live over 800 miles away, and I asked her about it this morning and she said she took them for fun and definitely didn't send them to me. We were both asleep at 12:45 last night, they weren't in my text massage history (with her or anyone else), they are Live Photo's so they didn't come from Snapchat, and they aren't in my photo stream or under "shared" Any explanations? | Was set to pre-order the iphone X, had a complete change of heart. Posted: 28 Oct 2017 10:00 AM PDT I've been a huge iphone fan for years and was waiting patiently to upgrade my 7. The iphone X looks incredible and I was set to drop the cash and pre-order at 3am last night. Then I had a personal revelation. Why am I about to spend 1500$ on a phone that will cost me another 1500$ in fees per year? I could be doing so many better things with that money. I could be travelling, investing, engaging in experiences. I've spent thousands in the past few years on owning a smartphone that frankly doesn't give me much pleasure anymore. In realizing that, I decided I'm going to use the money I would have spent on some personal improvements (I've wanted lasik eye surgery my whole life). And I'm using this to try to get away from my addiction with using phones. Before this, I'd spend hours a day mindlessly scrolling through apps on my phone. I've had enough, and I'm ready to get away from this cycle to start enjoying my time and money. I called my carrier this morning and cancelled my plan. I'm in the process of moving to a pay-as-you go with Public Mobile (Canada) to pay half of what I used to pay. I'm keeping a minimal amount of data for important things like GPS, but otherwise my new plan will be extremely limited. No shame to anyone buying the new phones or people who enjoy these things as a hobby; I totally get it. But I want to hear if anyone has had similar thoughts. Has anyone here stopped using their iphones as much to focus on other things in life? [link] [comments]  | ||

Posted: 29 Oct 2017 02:32 AM PDT I remember when I had a Samsung S7 Edge and when using the wireless quick charger it was possible to disable the quick charging as it causes the phone to get really warm and it charges slower but cooler. | Finally got the beats studio 3s and they sound amazing Posted: 29 Oct 2017 06:08 AM PDT Was torn between this and the bose qc35,decided that the w1 chip outweighed the slightly better comfort ,build and sound quality These are my first pair of bluetooth headphones (needed a pair because I have an 8 plus),and the pairing process was super simple and really cool Headphones themselves could be of better build quality but sound wise they sound amaaaaazing,to me at least I went into the eq settings on my phone and set it to flat....I suggest anyone else who owns a pair to check out few of the eq settings as some make the headphones sound even better. The headphones are very light weight and I can wear them for 3-4 hours without any discomfort I've seen beats get shit on a lot for sound quality which is why I was sceptical about picking up a pair but they sound fine,maybe an audiophile or someone who works in the music industry might be able to tell but not your average person Overall very happy with the purchase only wish it had a less platicky feel to it [link] [comments]  | ||
| Going to take a minute to praise the A11 Bionic... Posted: 28 Oct 2017 03:09 PM PDT The A11 Bionic and the software used to assist it puts me in awe every time I use my phone. Every single time. I just can't believe how fluid it is and it never skips a beat. I was so use to pressing on something and waiting a small delay before anything happened, or just watching animation lag on Android as something attempted to do it's thing. I was really into phones with specs double what our iPhone's have and thought the iPhone was just a toy. Now I realize I've been sleeping on one of, if not the best phone with the best hardware and software you could get. What puts me in even more shock is THE BATTERY LIFE. Not even 2,000 mAh, and it lasts longer than phones wit 3,000+++. Apple made a true animal, and after buying it, an iPad, and a Macbook, I'm not touching anything else anymore.
