| Posted: 27 Oct 2017 07:32 PM PDT When I turn on my Mac and log in, after putting in my password it boots up halfway and turns off, then I repeat the process. What should I do? | Posted: 27 Oct 2017 07:19 PM PDT I do not currently have an apple music subscription, but when trying to play songs that I have synced to my iphone from itunes on my computer, I get a screen that tells me I need apple music to listen to the song even though I did not download it from apple music nor have i ever had apple music. I woke up and noticed I put in the wrong city for my shipping address. Everything else is correct though. Will this be an issue? | Apps fail to persist state on iPhone 6 in IOS 11 Posted: 27 Oct 2017 09:09 AM PDT iOS is supposed to persist app state, so that if you switch from Facebook to Safari, and back, the Facebook app does not need to reload everything. That doesn't seem to be working very well on my iPhone 6 with IOS 11.0.3. Sometimes the previous app will load immediately, but any further back, the apps reload from scratch. This happens with more memory intense apps - Facebook, Chrome, Waze, etc. It's annoying switching between Pandora and Waze and losing my navigation. My battery is not very good - not sure if this affects anything. [link] [comments]  |

I got a call from a guy who (for whatever reason) lost internet connect to the SmartTV on his houseboat over night. He calls, I check if his account is locked and if the site is down. Before I can go any further he says he wants to try connecting his phone to the wifi because "that usually works". I thought it was just end-user magical thinking, but then it worked. I haven't known this to happen before, so I have to ask: is this an Apple thing, where if you connect to the network on one device your other devices auto-connect? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 27 Oct 2017 09:51 PM PDT Trying to sign in to iCloud to recover some photos. I'm using the correct ID and password, I know this because there's not a error message. When I submit the email/password it seems to try and load up then I think it times out after like 5 seconds, any solutions would be much appreciated. | iPad Mini (original), iTunes store and Apple ID Posted: 27 Oct 2017 09:44 PM PDT I recently factory reset my iPad mini, and I forgot the ID I originally used on it, so I created a new one. It was on IOS 6, so I have updated it to IOS 8. Upon trying to install an app, it prompts me to sign in, so i chose existing apple ID, and sign in with the new one. From here it prompts "This Apple ID has not yet been used in the iTunes Store" and asks me to review the info. It then asks for country, ToS and then account details. It thinks I'm trying to make a new account, because when I'm done it states "This email is already in use or you may already have an Apple ID associated with this email address. Please try again or sign in using your existing Apple ID", so it thinks I'm creating a new account. Is there a fix to this without installing more recent IOS? Otherwise this thing is essentially useless to me. I would rather not install a more recent IOS as it would likely slow the iPad to a halt. [link] [comments]  |
| Time Machine – how do I access my backup of a USB drive without the drive plugged in? Posted: 27 Oct 2017 05:54 PM PDT Well, this is a bit of a quandary. I use Time Machine to back up my laptop – it's a 13" 2015 rMBP with a 251 GB SSD. The Time Machine drive is a Seagate 1 TB. However, I've been storing my iTunes library and Spotify library on a small SanDisk 128 GB USB that I leave plugged in all the time for space. This USB is included in my Time Machine backups, but the drive has unfortunately broke down. It will not mount when plugged in (it shows up greyed out in Disk Utility) or unmount on the off chance it does connect. Due to this, I've bought a replacement 128 GB USB to store my music and movies on, but I've run into a problem – I can only access the Time Machine backups for the old USB when it is plugged in. Is there a way to see these when the drive is not plugged in so I can restore them to my new USB? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 27 Oct 2017 09:35 PM PDT I sync my iPad to iTunes. In an effort to transfer my iBooks content to iBooks on my Macbook Pro, I unchecked the books under the "On My Device" tab. Now that all of the books have been taken off the iPad and restored, this entire section remains grayed out. How can I get that section back to black and operational? All of the titles are on my device, but they are unclickable, and I would like to edit some details, only I am now unable to do so. This is not in the "Choose to sync" section of the iTunes backup, but through the "On this Device" section down below it. [link] [comments]  |

| Battery Percentage Problem with Iphone 6 Posted: 27 Oct 2017 05:16 PM PDT Hey guys, About two days ago I started to expierence a problem with my Iphone 6. I have the Iphone 6 with IOS 11.1. The problem is that the battery percentage would always get stuck on 1% or 2%. I let it charge over night and it was still stuck on 2%. If I use the Iphone for at least 4 minutes with the 2% it shuts off and then it restarts. Somethings that I tried to solve the issue was to disconnect and reconnect the Lithium battery, aswell as the screen. I did a force restart by holding both the home and lock button. I noticed that the Iphone doesn't get hot at all when its charging, I also noticed that the power adapter doesn't get hot when it is plugged in. The lightning bolt symbol appears next to the battery symbol, which indicates that it is charging but it really is not since the battery percentage isn't going up. I researched online how to fix, saying it was a bug with IOS 10. Any help is appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 27 Oct 2017 02:40 PM PDT So theres this recent thing that happened since the IOS 11 update now my speakerphone during a call wont work. The button will toggle ON/OFF, but for some reason the voice will only come out of the headset and not the speaker. Its really frustrating especially since I want to make hands free calls 90% of the time and I don't always have my bluetooth with me. Its like this regardless of if my BT is connected or not. | Cleaned a key on my magic keyboard, won't go back on correctly Posted: 27 Oct 2017 04:51 PM PDT I have a magic keyboard 2 (the bluetooth rechargeable keyboard) and my delete key was kinda mushy, so I popped it off and used canned air to clean it, and when I put it back on, it pressed all the way into the keyboard and stayed depressed. I used my fingernail around the edges and found that if I pop the top/right corner of the keycap off, the key works, though the top/right corner is sticking out. If I snap the top/right corner in place, the whole keycap is depressed and the key doesn't work. Does anyone know if there is a special process to put that key back on? It's the first time I've removed one of the keycaps that has a stabilizer bar in it. I also called apple support and scheduled to have the apple store check it out tomorrow. I have apple care plus on my computer. Should I tell them that I popped the key off? Would that void the warranty/apple care? Or should I just say I was typing and the key pressed all the way in the keyboard and I have to snap the top/right corner out now for the key to work? [link] [comments]  |
| Mac osx gone after installing windows with bootcamp Posted: 27 Oct 2017 08:28 PM PDT Dual booting bootcamp and its doing fine, then go back into mac os checking that the osxreserve is still there even after installing. Tried remove it but stuck, then i restarted the mac only finding that mac partition was gone and only windows remain. What should i do??? I can boot into internet recovery but the mac os harddrive is not showed at the list. Its not my laptop so currently im VERY scared. [link] [comments]  |

My contacts seem to jump around whenever I try to search for them. In the video, I try and compose a text message. First I try searching for "Taylor", Name appears only for a moment. 2nd search is for "Taylor": nothing appears 3rd search I try searching for my self "Ryan" nothing appears and my entry is deleted. | Posted: 27 Oct 2017 12:27 PM PDT Hello, i got a weird issue... i get delayed text messages, both on imessage and texts from Android users, it can be everything from a few minutes to 1 hour. I'm using the iPhone 8 Plus, but i've also had this behavior on the regular iPhone 8. It really annoys me since it can be something important and i payed alot for this phone. It happens both when its locked or while im using, i get a notification that says ...13 minutes ago, and no its not just the notification that is delayed, i can not see the message if i open upp the message app. And yes, i've factory reseted and it happens on different firmwares Anyone else have this problem or a solution?
