Posted: 25 Apr 2021 06:24 PM PDT I recently picked up an Apple Watch and while I liked the look of many of the analog watch faces, I always found myself coming back to the digital ones because they were quicker to read at a glance. That's where I got the idea for this app from. The app lets you add a digital time complication to any analog watch face. I've found it super useful as I can enjoy the look of the analog watch faces while keeping the instant readability of a digital face. Also, it's free! This was also an interesting challenge on a personal level because I had to dive into some new technologies like SwiftUI and watchOS. Any feedback would be much appreciated! [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Apr 2021 12:24 PM PDT Hey guys, I just released my first app iOS app Gala. Apple has many services nowadays but they don't have anything for iPhone users to share photos and videos with one another, which was a surprise since Apple hates FB, there are trillions of photos and videos already on iCloud and they love privacy. Instagram used to be one of my favorite apps but ever since the founders left in 2018 the app has gone down hill. I'm hoping to bring back the OG Instagram vibes and fix a lot of problems in the process. This service allows your posts to reach as many iPhone users around the world as possible organically. It's also designed with simplicity in mind and is extremely easy to use, simply post what you want, when you want and reach the people most interested in your content, no need to research hashtags or pick the perfect time of day! As an added bonus we share Apples commitment to privacy and the only way to sign in is with your Apple ID for the best security. You can get it today on the App Store here or learn more about the app and what motivated me to make it below. App Store Link: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gala-creativity-welcomed/id1560876288 Instagram Problems Instagram used to be a great app until they removed the chronological feed in 2016, ever since then, things have gone downhill. I reached my breaking point when I got the Reels/e-commerce account update in November. Not only did they remove 2 important buttons notification and posting to inconvenient locations, they pretty much destroyed organic reach. Nowadays you have to pay and even that isn't guaranteed to get you engagement. You could also use Reels, but they destroy reach on that too and you shouldn't be forced to use that feature on a PHOTO sharing app. They also have zero support if you visit the Instagram subreddit, so many accounts have been banned with no appeal and even if you're not banned you face action blocks for actually engaging on a SOCIAL app. Lastly if you read the privacy policy or watch a few Youtube videos on it, you'll discover it's extremely invasive and probably won't be okay with it. It seems like Facebook is actively trying to destroy this app and milk every last penny from it in the process. Well I'm here to provide you with a viable alternative, Gala Maximize Your Organic Reach Gala is designed to get your post in front of as many people as possible organically. No more will you have to shell out your hard earned cash to run ads, pick the perfect time of day to post, create a massive list of hashtags, join engagement groups or grow a massive following list first, just post what you want, when you want and let Gala take care of the rest. Gala actually gives you the option to see your friends post CHRONOLOGICALLY or to use an algorithmic feed in the form of a For You page. What's unique about this For You page is that it does video AND photo, and you can swipe left on photos you don't like similar to Tinder making for an easier, and fun experience. Easy To Use We kept this app's design very minimalist to make it easy to use, we put all our buttons in convenient locations as we don't need to copy TikTok or put an ecommerce section on a social media app. You only have the features necessary for more reach like our version of the FYP, related content section when you go to view comments, the ability to repost(coming soon) so you can leverage other users audiences or help them grow theirs, and instead of an explore page based on assumption, we provide you with an extensive list of categories so you don't need to make multiple accounts to find the content you want enjoy easier. Something else we did to improve design is we hid the hashtags on your post so now you can get more reach by adding as many hashtags and your captions will still look good. Respect For Privacy In addition to that we take privacy very seriously. Based in the New York City area, we don't track your GPS location and you sign in with Apple for better security, we don't collect usage data for anything other than making the app work better for you. Improve Overall Happiness Statistics have shown in the past that Instagram is the worst social app for mental health. We don't want that for Gala, post what you want, you'll still get reach, we will do everything to make sure all the content being recommended to you will make you feel good. We will not allow inappropriate suggestive content to be recommended and we are also extremely against MLM, scams, or other businesses that hurt users, that may be okay on Insta/Youtube but on Gala we will make sure to crack down on posts/comments trying to hurt our users and terminate the accounts that promote wrongdoing. More Benefits For You Regardless of what industry you're in or what business you run, social media is essential to growth. You'll find out soon enough it's harder to grow now more than ever. With Gala we can quite literally change the world by letting you get your message out there much easier. Just imagine how many cool technologies are out there like VR that will be able to get discovered much quicker. Gala actively rewards amazing content with more reach, so let me help you grow your business, just make great content and put the money you'd spend on ads back into your business. Join Gala Today Get it on the iOS App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gala-creativity-welcomed/id1560876288 Be sure to share with your friends! [link] [comments]

After 6 years, we are ready to show Nota — Pro writing app for macOS Posted: 25 Apr 2021 07:14 AM PDT Hi everyone, Nota is a pro writing app for macOS designed for local Markdown files. Nota has been a long journey for us (me and @erusev). We've been working on it full-time for more than three years, and before that, we spent another three years working on Nota's predecessor, Caret. Right now, Nota is in beta, and we'd like to invite more people to test it. We thought some people here might be interested. Nota is free to use, but now and then, it'll prompt you to purchase a license. Licenses don't expire (no subscription). [link] [comments]
I built a Git client and text editor for iOS Posted: 25 Apr 2021 08:24 AM PDT I couldn't find an iOS git client I liked so I wrote one while stuck at home this past year. It started as a simple project but it's grown to be an app that I use everyday. Most of the common Git commands are there and its got a solid text editor as well. It's free with an in app purchase for unlimited pushes and a few other features. Anyways I'd love any thoughts. Thanks! [link] [comments]
I built a MIDI player for macOS to replace QuickTime Player 7 (and it's on GitHub) Posted: 25 Apr 2021 07:54 AM PDT It's not exactly a new app (it has existed for over 5 years now), but I never really promoted it anywhere, so here goes: When it became clear that Apple would eventually drop 32-bit apps and didn't plan on updating QuickTime Player 7, I started development on this replacement MIDI player. As a hobbyist music person, having MIDI playback was pretty important to me, and all the other apps that did it were either too expensive, mediocre, or both. It's written in Swift, uses AppKit for its UI, and requires macOS Catalina or later to run. If you're still running High Sierra or Mojave for some reason, you'll want v1.11.1 instead. Screenshots and known issues are in the readme file in the repository: https://github.com/SamusAranX/MinimalMIDIPlayer Bonus content: Look how far the app has come: [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Apr 2021 06:35 AM PDT Hi everyone, after 5 months of hard work my friends and I finally launched the multiplayer-game Tic Tac Joy: Play to Help! The game revives and recreates the concept of the classic Tic Tac Toe in a whole new way by keeping the essence of the game, but replacing the X and 0 with the numbers from 1 to 4. The classic mechanics plus basic mathematics needed to win deliver a fun game which makes it hard to tie since it is very easy to make a mistake or miss something. This combination makes it a great experience for any age group and helps training your basic logic skills. Last but not least, we decided to launch the game as part of a charity event with the purpose of donating the net revenue to "Doctors Without Borders" who are currently helping people in need from all around the world fighting the effects of the global pandemic. The charity event started on April 23th and will end on May 31st. All income will consist of ad revenue, so the players are contributing without paying one single penny. Next week we will also distribute this news to mass media from all around the world to take a chance of it to be spreaded globally. We "play to help!" And you? Please enjoy playing! https://apps.apple.com/app/tic-tac-joy-play-to-help/id1556345178 I will be available and glad to answer any of your questions regarding our app and the charity event. ❤ Thanks a lot and any kind of feedback is always appreciated🙏🏽. This is the first app we ever made. 😄 [link] [comments]
